Welcome to, Homesteading Alaska to Maine. I’m Rob and my lovely wife, Kristine is also on this journey with me. We have a combined history of over 100 years of Homesteading, Animal Husbandry, Gardening and Building multiple Homesteads over our life times. After over 35 years of Homesteading all over Alaska from the Inside Passage to the icy interior. We decided to build ONE FINAL HOMESTEAD in which to grow old. It is our wish to help those that desire to live a simpler life, a more secure life style and how to feel safe in that life.
This channel is all about building our dream home, building a thriving Homestead from raw land and living the good life. The big challenge will be to see if we can build a 30' x 40' home with a wood framed basement for $20,000. Please join us for this adventure.

Love to hear your story! 👏👏👏
We will be doing a, "who we are" video this winter that will cover our years in Alaska. I was told that, "Nobody Cares" so don't do one at all... obviously they are wrong. Thanks for watching.
Looking forward to following the journey!

Greater Omaha has better Beef than other Packers.
Where do you buy these?
@@th86stone i just go to the meat counter in my grociers and ask for a " Whole Chuck Roll". They will not always get it the first time. You will explain it to them. Once in awhile they have to order one in for me. If you have a Costco I have hears they have them out in the meat section.

How much did the land cost
@@richardcannings9822 i have had this land since 1996. But a lot like mine on a lake in Maine is 150 - 200 grand. An ofd grud, acre in the woods is about 30 grand.
Thanks!
You bet!

Awesome, Rob and Kezzie! I enjoyed the heck out of this video!
Thank you
If you don't mind, would love to see a little bit of you milling the boards. Regardless - thanks for sharing!
@@mfrederickson1 you got it.
Enjoyed watching Rob! I'm super impressed! Here I am wondering if I can handle replacing a bit of mushy subflooring alone, you inspire me! Maybe I can!! It looks like a gorgeous spot!
@@yoohoomeg thank you. It is pretty. I'm on a small lake and about 1 mile fro I'm the ocean. It's like Alaska light, but much easier to live off the land.
@HomesteadingAlaskatoMaine
Good work Rob. I'm so glad that part of my life is done. I hate to say it but I spend most of my time lazing around and enjoying the fruits of my labors, of which there were many. Maintenance and gardening, snowblowing, plowing and shoveling in winter...or making plans to go somewhere warm and tropical for a bit in winter. Be well, Rob and Kez
@@setsailatnoon it's an addiction I just can't stop building.... ;-)
That's a pretty good video brother!
@@ShawnMcKenzie-CP thank you, Shawn.
Does that wood mizer have the 11 hp Onan engine? Two of us got sponsored by the CDN embassy in Costa Rica after the hurricane of 1988 to buy a wood mizer, yhen made float deck with 55 gallon drums and floated it up from Bluefields, Nica to Pearl Lagoon...and then sawed a myriad of woods. From almond wood to rose wood, ebony, leche amarillo (yellow gum) made the best lobster traps. The rest was used to rebuild the town. Imagine having a cabin sided with rosewood.
@@setsailatnoon it is an Onan 20hp.
