But they didn’t win anything in the 70s
This Canadian remembers…always watched, and misses Mr. Healy a TON…THE Best, imo…a GEM of a man! I believe we’ll meet again!!!😇
I had a class with Joe Ferguson at the University of Arkansas in the early 70's. From Springhill, La where my mother was born, Joe was such a standup man. Super nice guy.
What a badass driver,seen him race at Reading,Langhorn and Allentown.Bright orange 56
...and then this other kid named Andre Agassi came along in 1986....
The music junked another video 👎👎👎👎💩💩😬
I'm 82 but still remember well back when I was a Offerman Stadium kid and was in awe of Bill Serena, Mike Baxes, Ray Noble, Joe Caffee, Walt Craddock, Luke and the rest of that great International League Bisons team.
Ricks worth on a team doesn’t show up in statistics he play the most shallow center field in baseball daring hitters to hit it over his head he robed an untold number of base hits
Thank you so much for posting this. He & I were teammates at Bishop Neumann HS in Williamsville, NY just outside of Buffalo. we were senoirs together. He went to Notre Dame, & I went into the Army. Great guy!
Bea was my high School tennis coach
Didn't he get his hands burned so badley that that when they were healing he made the choice to have them healed in a way so he could still drive a race car? I remember hearing that. Anyone?
I'm not sure but it's more proof they don't build em like they used. Tough generation of men. Cheers
👍😁
All-time great in college basketball. Scored 35 points against John Havlicek in MSG. At 6-5 and an inside player, still would have been an NBA stand-out if tuberculosis had not robbed him of the opportunity.
HE WAS SPECIAL , I would say this to people when they are watching a kid and you want to know if he is special like Hall of Fame special... People would watch football to just watch Talley play the game... I knew as a West Virginia fan and as a kid - you know a no nothing, but I knew other teams knew where Darryl Talley at all times .... one time i saw him catch Doug Flutie from behind on an option play going away from Talley... so before Flutie could read the opposite end and pitch the ball Talley tacked him from behind .... He was fast and unblockable by one guy... its hard to believe the story Don Nehlen (West Virginia's new coach at the time) during practice 190 lbs LB /' end was a sleep on the bench , said he would have kicked him off the team but West Virginia did have enough players . He said thank God he didn't because with the right food and weights this guy was unbelievable athlete ...
I watched Coach Monti in the 90’s when he took a team whose center was 6’3” and with a suffocating defense beat teams you’d never thought capable. The best coach all time in western NY… I loved coming to LaSalle basketball games…
Jimmy slattery was my grandfather. He was the best fighter of all time even muhamad Ali said the same
on that hike up Mt. Kilmanjaro, Ed Kilgore dropped his pants and took a huge dump, never wiped once... my buddy was on that trip w/him and told me that story which cracked me up...
Long forgotten great fighter. Should be on any list of great Italian American boxers. Great resume.
If not for injuries he’d be HOF material , Tu aurais 72 ans aujourd’hui bonne fête Richard
I had the good fortune to caddie for this lady at Wanakah CC in the mid 1960's. Cookie Berger was just awesome...we had never seen a lady with such a game. We had no idea that she was a former NCAA champion.
The one player that nobody will ever know has the highest points in a franchise lol
Still has a full head of hair! Funny as ever
Foligno was a beast. His sons too. GREAT Sabre.
If he didn't get hurt, who knows what would have happened
One great driver!
Thank God Farve came around before this interception machine was exploited.
Step great grandfather’s cousin
Magic was pretty darn good , when he first came Packers he gave me or us hope . You were good magic
Oh my lovely grandpa 😢
I remember Mr. Healy hosting a WBEN-TV show in the 60s called "Strikes, Spares and Misses" a woman's amateur bowling show and also "Beat the Champ" another bowling show that showcased the very best male bowlers in Western NY. RIP Mr. Healy
The first runner-up in the Brian Sipe look alike contest.
I remember Sestak as a kid in the 1960's. Great AFL games. He should be in the HOF.
I used to play hockey but now refferee where he was born
If he wasn't made out of paper then I think he would've had an even better career
Erie Warlick worked at WGR-TV until the November 1970 Strike which then the Management later broke the Union. Ernie then went and did a short Sunday evening NFL highlights show with others, at WUTV Ch. 29 on Grand Island.
#Respect... The guy was a great QB there for a time.
Probably my all time favorite Sabre, and that's saying a lot.
When warren spahn pitches, pray for rain
We loved Bergy in Cincinnati, and were heart broken when he left.
Why isn’t he in the pro HOF?
i remember as a kid Jim Hurtubise towed all the way from N. Tonawanda N.Y to Fonda Speedway my home track about 300 miles and won the feature!
Know Idea what this is!
I got to string rackets for Jimmy at a Florida pro tournament in 1993 and ended up being his warmup partner three days that week and he could not have been more personable and polite. I’m just a regionally ranked semi-pro and he never made me feel bad for missing shots as I tried my best to give him a good warmup each day. A real gentleman. HUGE forehand!’
Name rhymes with former US college football & CFL quarterback Chuck Ealey
hello Mr Maglie, nice close shave but leave the sideburns.
The hardest hitting DB that ever played the game #42
My favorite goaltender in 20th century
Mike Curtis was good too.
Outstanding, often overlooked Hall of Famer. Fought most of the top guys and won a fair amount of them.
One of the best nicknames ever.
