Neuroinflammation & Subconcussive Injury A Neuroendocrine Perspective Drs Mark Gordon & Eric Gordon
Neural endocrinology examines the relationship between the nervous system and brain-produced hormones that govern functionality. Research shows inflammation as a primary damaging factor in neuropsychiatric conditions, from depression and anxiety to Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and multiple sclerosis. Of particular focus is subconcussive brain injury-a condition that develops without immediate symptoms, unlike conventional concussive injuries seen in athletes.
Dr. Mark Gordon's research demonstrates how these traumas trigger a sequence: primary injury leads to neuroinflammation (secondary injury), disrupting the balance between brain hormones, immune system function, and brain chemistry. His work spans 25 years studying the effects of endocrinology on brain function.
In this Gordon Medical FORUM Live Community webinar, Join Dr. Mark Gordon and Dr. Eric Gordon as they discuss how chronic trauma and stress can trigger neuroinflammation, leading to persistent mood disorders and mental health challenges that often resist traditional medication.
Learn about the crucial connection between inflammatory cytokines and disrupted neurotransmitter function as they discuss why common mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, and mood disturbances often fail to respond adequately to conventional treatments.
They will discuss how disruptions in key neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, and GABA drive these conditions and how addressing the underlying neuroinflammation can effectively resolve these persistent symptoms.

Usually not just one infection. Usually many. Modulate immune system. Maybe use some herbs/meds. Peptides can quiet inflammation and are important to use. Dr Learner (late 90s-2010s) treated EBV high doses anti virals. Decent outcome. Tick borne disease and toxins can make it harder to heal and respond. We don’t know if EBV is reactivated or immune system is just responding to pieces of it. Ask doctor to run infectolab tests for EBV T cell elevation. High T cell could mean reactivation.

Hi Austin, this can all vary depending on the individual and their environment. Labs can range from blood work to check inflammatory markers and genetic makeup, imaging like MRI or CT, culture samples, or testing the home, and more. We recommend working with a physician who can do a thorough intake of your health history and order the right labs for you. Thanks a lot for the very enlightning talk! Its great that you mention the correct timing, but this could be a struggle with regard to possibly left symptoms after treatment, e.g. in my case brain fog, and the need to wait for growth peptide use until the infection is solved as the question is, when this is the case. I am on this point, having EBV making trouble with my thyroid metabolism, and due to brain fog, I would like to use IGF-1 LR3 or other growth peptides, but at the same time, being afraid of supportively driving cancer processes with already missregulated cell metabolism (but also receptors for growth factors). I aimed to do a SOT therapy and afterwards use them, but the therapy isn't available in EU at the time, and thus I am still stuck with brain fog, being hesitant to use IGF-1 LR3 or growth peptides fearing cancer promotion. I am currious, about your thoughts about cancer promotion with these growth factors.

Thanks a lot for these very interesting talk! Do you have any experience, with MCAS, COVID Vaccination and a tumor afterwards - I guess this is an absolutely worst-case combination. I am very afraid regarding metastasis due to the underlying immune system problem. I was thus very grafteful for your recommendations about the peptides (I guess it was another video), but in this case the immune system is absolutely down as could be seen in the blood, but on the other site, it easly increases to much :-( Is SOT-Therapy to avoid metastasis a suitable idea or will there be problems with having MCAS? I am a little worried, as on your website you wrote, that the SOT is given with an antihistaminicum.... I was thinking about this, also besides looking for an underlying infection and also treating it with SOT. Do you also do online consultations, working with patients in EU?

My personal experience has linked it to Chinese synthetic fibers. My wife bought clothes and blankets from WISH and now Temu. I believe they weaponized these fibers. They sell Americans clothes and blankets for dirt cheap by way of these companies. Think about it... Everyone wears clothes. I was miserable for about a year. I put the connection together and got rid of any fibrous article from China. I got better. I let my guard down after a couple of years. My wife bought a blanket from Temu. The Chinese company that is pushed on Americans like crazy. Guess what? The fibers burning between my fingers was back. I believe the link is China.

Could you address dysautonomia and micro clots? Microclots were discussed with long covid. But venous insufficiency is common with hypermobility or other connective tissue disorders, however, many of us have ultrasound results that are not normal but yet show no outward symptoms nor is it something that the vascular dept can do anything about (since they only do surgeries). How does one tell they have microclots if tests dont show it? Same as small fiber neuropathies.

Folks with thyroid issues should know that if they take a T3 hormone like Armour thyroid (natural pig thyroid vs a synthetic), a sneaky side effect of the T3 is a raised heart rate and symptoms that mimic POTS. (For myself, it happened over a 5 yr period...gradually, ever so slightly, I would get up from a location, 30 seconds later...I was feeling dizzy. Too much dizziness caused nausea, etc. I tend to have a low blood pressure so drs constantly told me to get up more slowly...and so I ignored it. So finally I realized that I was getting dizzy upon every 'elevation' change...walking up or down an incline in my yard, getting up/down when squatting when gardening or harvesting the garden. I made changes to how I did things so that the dizziness wouldnt be triggered. (This response was a direct result of the drs who kept ignoring my questions about dizziness.) I was technically diagnosed with POTS by a cardiologist...just through a positional test in his office taking blood pressure and measuring heart rate. The POTS medication wasn't working for me, so dr suggested taking 2 salt tabs (100mg) per day...this triggered my migraines thus a no-go. In one of the fb POTS grps, I asked some questions and someone mentioned the T3 rx. I asked my PCP, she said...yes the T3 I was taking....was one with this particular side effect. This would not have been caught because it happened so gradually. I also didn't feel a racing heart at any time. So just wanted to help alert ppl to this T3 side effect. My dr had me try taking other T3 meds, same result...the POTS symptoms came up again. I stopped taking the T3, the dizziness stopped immediately.

How long before the benefit of KPV is felt please? I’m just about 2 -3 weeks in on 500 mg, so far no noted improvement.
