looks like a great ride out
Proper cross country ride 👏
Nice one Steve, I actually did a lot of the same route this morning, just went out earlier
twice iv'e been going to do Gisburn and injury always stops me Great video thanks Stephen
@thepainterdude1 The trails are pretty good. You need to work all the way around and there is a good cafe at the end.
What in the devils back yard is the person in front wearing man ? Did they crash at all in those walking shoes ? Leggings ? I bet there back side is like a raw beetroot.. they need to wear the right clothing and footwear at it won’t be a good experience. They look in pain with the shoes as they will feel the pins.
Do you have a strava or Komoot link, as I’m not familiar with some of this route

@@thepainterdude1 It is near to Bury / Ramsbottom. The Strava link is here. strava.app.link/EudYdZSYxMb
well caught on camera and well played Dean nice roll hope your ok
@thepainterdude1 Dean was OK. He managed to find a soft landing. His bike is poorly though.
Little bobble over the first rock and no traction on the front end while trying to turn.
Ouch

Beautiful day to be out riding with great clear footage 👌 Had to giggle with the short cut Stephen, getting caught out with the Holly Bush 😮 😅.
Fantastic Ride man !!!! CAN I KNOW THE ROUTE PLEASE...

Looks like a great route, thanks for sharing.
Thank you.
That place looks good 😊

That chainring is wasted. Did you mount a new chain? Change the chainring too and all will be fine😎
Dean had replaced his cassette and chain. He is awaiting delivery of his new chainring now. 😀
Are our moors ever going to dry up a bit
I am thinking of fitting paddles to the bike. 😀
Love the video and the terrain. I'm from South Yorkshire so not ventured over that side of the pennines before. Looks great however not sure my ebike got the distance. I get a littke uneasy with such altitude and battery life. 24 miles on the high peak trail and was down to 20% after 24 miles so 31 on this may be pushing it. Literally pushing it, the bike i mean😂
You could park near the bottom of Lee Quarry in Bacup. You would be able to do a couple of laps of Lee Quarry or Lee Quarry and Cragg Quarry. www.pmba.org.uk/lee-cragg-quarries/
It is an option for me. For the distance to travel, I'd love to explore and take a few hrs in a ride so i may park there and explore some of your other trails and try and make my own route. I will make a video and give you a shout-out for introducing me to your neck of the woods😊
Just bought an emtb myself and was up at cragg quarry last week. That route through the tunnels from Waterfoot is my daily commute. I can't quite place that trail at the beginning of the video though?

@@stephenbrown6055 awesome, thank you.
I was going to ask the same question. Thanks for the Strava Stephen
I thought this place got shut down? Glad I was wrong!
eBike - give me a break !!! Thanks for showing the trail but seriously it's difficult to appreciate it when you're taking it apart on an eBike. Riding any trail on an eBike is a completely different (& much poorer) experience from riding the same trail on a MTB relying solely on ones own leg strength.
I have ridden the trail multiple times on my normal bikes and a couple of times on an ebike. It is all rideable on a normal bike. Some of the climbs are quite steep and technical, so you get up them faster on an ebike. The descents are probably better on a normal bike due to the reduced weight.
I've just recently bought an emtb and struggling to see where the "much poorer" experience lies. If anything I've had more fun on this than any of my other mtb. The more I ride my ebike the less desire I have to use my old one. Not done lee quarry for years, be good to try it out there.
Someone sounds a bit salty coz they’d like to get an e-bike but won’t admit it 🤣
This is just complete nonsense (and no, I don't even own an e-bike).
Looks like a cool spot to ride. A wee bit chunky. I cant imagine how long those path stones have been in place.
I think that the Lee Quarry trails first opened around 2008.
You can download a map of the mountain bike trails here. www.pmba.org.uk/lee-cragg-quarries/
The trails are looking very rough and knackered, probably from the amount of rain. Although all theses motorised bikes don't help.
All of the trails that I ride (on any sort of bike) are waterlogged at the moment. This route is holding up better than most.
Do u have the route plz

Yes. Minor dab by my brother. Luckily I was filming it. 😂

Thanks I am not a Strava member so sort of followed route in OS Maps and plotted but second half tricky to follow. If you have the raw gpx that would be great otherwise I will try following what I have plotted. It’s like some of rides I do locally non are on OS maps but are brilliant. Steve

What I mean is, I usually park in Bacup and go up from there - this vid starts up on the tops
I started by riding to the top of Rooley Moor Road. The Strava route is here. strava.app.link/ruzO6dShhIb
If you start in Bacup you can ride Lee Quarry and then go up the link road to Cragg Quarry, do a loop and then back down the link road with the rock jumps into Lee Quarry.
Great - thanks !!
Where does this start??
Awesome route made all the more fun with the sloppy bits.
The bike took quite a lot of cleaning afterwards. 🙂
i feel so free when im out on my bike, now thats a ride, new sub🙏
Nice short Stephen. 👍🏻

Dalbeattie, Marie, Kirroughtree and Ae Forest are all close together so you can spend a few days and ride them all.
Excellent video. I haven't been there for a while, so I must get myself over there, then have a blast. Cheers. Stoozer. 👍🏻
