This is the third do of the Stephen King novel "SALEM's LOT" from 1975... the gold standard so far is the 1979 mini series ( two nights) of Salem's Lot , by Tobe Hooper, with David Soul, Lance Kerwin, James Mason, Bonnie Bedevil ( Die Hard- Bruce Willis' wife) and a stellar other cast... another version is the 2004 Rob Lowe re-creation, with Donald Sutherland and James Cromwell, etc.) to me this trailer stays the most faithful ( so far) to the novel and the 1979 super-hit... Enjoy!!!

Also, Violet's description of Colin as someone who is always putting others first is actually quite accurate, but you might be thinking of it in a different way (for example, it's in a different way than Anthony and Kate). If you guys are ever interested in extra Bridgerton content, Sammy Bates has made quite a few analysis videos that are really interesting. She has one on Colin's character, and it's really enlightening- there's a lot to his character and history that people miss because it was portrayed subtly, and in the background of bigger stories. But once it's pointed out, it's obvious, and it really deepens your understanding of him and the love story this season.

Jon M. Chu the director of this movie himself said that Ariana was the perfect choice for this role. She auditioned 5 times, the role wasn’t just given to her. She genuinely fought for and gave her all for this role. Ever since she was a child her biggest dream was to play Glinda, bigger than her singing career. “Why is Ariana Grande in it?” That is why Ariana is in it, hope this helps 🙂

I would avise you to do your research before saying that about Ariana. No one was more qualified to play Glinda than Ariana. She went to see the Original Cast and Kristin has become her Mentor throughout the years. She has studied this role for years. She auditioned like everyone else. She earned this role. Also to help you a bit, The Wizard has The Grimmerie (Spell Book) and he can't read/understand the spells. He asks Elphaba to read the spell to give the Monkeys Wings to make them an Army. This is based on a book that came out in 1995. I'm writing this as I'm watching. The Lion in the 1900 Book, Is a real Lion. The Slippers in the original book are Silver. The Ruby Slippers are Original to the Film not the story. The Slippers are in fact the Slippers Glinda Gives to Dorothy. Asbestos was not used as the Snow in the poppy fields in The Wizard of Oz, It was gypsum salt. This film is Part 1 of the Story and it coincides with Act 1 of the show. Part 2 is Act 2 and comes out in 2025. The Witch's Green Skin is Original to the 1939 Film. In the Book, She does not have any physical descriptors. Both Wicked & Oz the Great and Powerful are heavily inspired by the 1939 film but The Exact Shade of Green the Margaret Hamilton was Painted and Dorothy's Ruby Slippers are under copyright by Warner Bros. Who own the rights to the 1939 Film. Disney licensed the Ruby Slippers for Return to Oz in 1985. Which is why Wicked and The Wiz have Silver Slippers. Frank Morgan played Professor Marvel, The First Gatekeeper, The Coachman, The 2nd Gatekeeper, and The Wizard. Munchkinland is important because Elphaba was born there. Her Father is the Governor. ariana did audition and she has been a very big wicked fan since she was a kid. kristin chenoweth (the original glinda in wicked) has even said how much ariana has come as an actress and has expressed the love she has for wicked. also this was the original backstory of villains cruelly and maleficent and all of those movies came after the idea of wicked this is just the film adaptation. this is an amazing cast as everyone auditoned and was hand picked by the director along with the original author and composer

The idea of a glorious warrior that gains glory in war is something that, while existing within Tolkien's legendarium, is NOT what Tolkien would consider the best way to be. Eowyn herself wishes to be exactly this and the story (in the books) has her realize that there is far more to life than the glory of battle. In fact, despite many massive battles having taken place in Middle-Earth, Tolkien never glorifies them the same way most authors would. He glorifies the bravery and valiance of those who fight them but does not revel in it the way most glory-seeking characters (written by authors similar to them) would. This is something that undoubtedly stems from Tolkien's experience as a soldier in WW1, by far one of the worst wars to have ever happened. He went to Somme and came back. This is why the character he loved the most is Samwise Gamgee, a humble Hobbit gardener who, while forced to go to hell and back again, eventually got the best ending: peace and quiet of the Hobbit life. The way this anime seems to handle the question of glory and warriors through its main character appears to be antithetical to how Tolkien saw it, hence why I will probably pass on it.

You're not the first to notice a resemblance between the young Tony Perkins and Andrew Garfield. Andrew actually WAS the first choice to play Perkins in the 2012 movie Hitchcock, which was about the making of Psycho. As much as the evil people at Disney try to ruin the franchise, I will never stop being a fan of old Star Wars. You two have reminded of the passionate and talented fans that truly understand what made the franchise great. Anakin Skywalker will always be The Chosen One of the Star Wars universe for me. We don't need any souless people besmirching the old characters. That doesn't take away from them in any way.
