he wouldn't have passed here in the uk, I counted at least 4 times the dude didn't use his handbrake whilst operating the hydraulic controls, observations were shocking, lifting the load whilst moving the truck aint good for that combined CO. I think from here on when i get a refresher booked and the dude is American I will recommend a full novice . I know it was done for the purpose of this training aid but they said 4 and there were a lot more than that lol

In the second scenario the load was over the backrest so it must be unitized. When parking a propane forklift indoors you must turn the valve off first and let the fuel run out of the lines. Do not store a forklift indoors for a long period of time with pressurized fuel lines.

I used to dtive a tow motor which is what we called them back in the 1970‘s. I was the only one to drive it so I knew my tow motor. I used to dtive double stacked loads driving forward but I knew the surroundings and I was the only one in the wearhouse but I drove slowlly as I could feel the back end starting to life so again drove slowly. I ALWAYS aimed my forks downward real close to the floor about an inch so if by accident striking someone it would be their feet and not their body but again I was the only one in the wearhouse. TIME is MONEY and always wilk be so si the boss is the Boss and you do as he says. I used to LOVE driving it.

3:28 didnt look behind himself 3:53 possibly dangerous lifting while driving forward. for #2 7:48 didnt look behind himself again, driving forward with a load the obtructs your vision, if you cant see infront of you, drive saftly backwards while also peeking his head of the side of the lift, and then not looking by himself again!

Yep, always look behind. "Pedestrians" often assume that they are the safest behind machinery.

IN THE COMPANY WE WORKED AT THE SHIPPING DRIVERS HAD TO LOAD AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. THE DRIVERS HAD TO DOUBLE STACK 26 PALLETS AND MANEUVER THEM AROUND SHIPPING CORNERS THEN BACK INTO THE VAN. IF THEY ONLY CARRIED TWO AT A TIME WE'D NEVER GET THE LOADS COMPLETED ON TIME. OF COURSE NO ONE ELSE WAS EVER IN SHIPPING WHEN THIS WAS DONE. SAFETY IS ONE THING, JUST AS DRIVING SAFELY ON HIGHWAYS IS A GOOD THING, PARAMEDICS, AND EMERGENCY VEHICLES CAN NEVER GO AT THE MINIMUM SPEED OR VICTIMS WOULD PERISH!! EFFICIENCY IS A MUST IN TODAY'S SHIPPING WORLD! WE WERE ALSO TAUGHT SLIPSHEET LIFTS AND I WAS THE DEMO DRIVER WHEN CUSTOMERS NEEDED TO SEE THIS PROCEDURE!!

I did a course this week and passed for 2 forklift trucks, the practices used here were similar but ours were intensive in safety. The course allows for only 25 points. 3 of them can be added for distances and non vertical mast. Fatal 5 points is considered an observational check, or drive ng with forks raised above a certain height, even driving up inclines can get you points. Ive warched some failure videos today, brolliant examples of ehat can go wrong.

Im realized iven you instructors make a mistake. One failure which nobody notice and mention in this first example is stroblight. Where is stroblight, and whay do not work? Second one where is a mirrors? Forklifts must got a mirrors.

Drive JCB all terrain 4wd last 12 years in large UK woodmill . 3 tonne comfortable lift weight at minimum height . 5.3 meter fork lift height max 🤔 maybe 1 tonne max at that height with minimal forward tilt..truck weight is 7.5 tonne .. video's like this remind me I am overconfident at times .99.9 % safety record. Couple of water pumps In IBC I just missed they still connected 😈 other wise 😀👍 Sometimes when unloading pallets from couriers I can see them almost saying. Why you looking behind again there is no body there 🤔? Many times in a big environment I have turned to look behind me and WTF !! Pedestrian..vehicle . ETC.... Although there are multiple mirrors on the truck I honestly only use them whilst traveling forwards to keep an eye of any traffic behind me. So glad I'm not inside a warehouse 😀👍

If where I work we follow all this rules, nobody would do shit 😂 I mean I follow most of them but not the one where you need to go full stop and then lift it, because in my job, the spaces are tight and the racks are high, all you gotta have is practice, and if you know the thing you’re lifting is heavy, of course you gotta be more careful.

6:45 So what happend here was the driver left it in neutral without setting the parking brake so it rolled foward into him not to mention the forks were raised he could of avoided death by lowering the forks putting the forklift in park then getting out to get the box that fell get back in release the parking brake and back out.

The second guy also had his head hanging outside the confines of the truck, since he was carrying an oversized load which was obstructing his view, and that should have been yet another mistake. Traveling in reverse to have a "better view" is not recommended. It should only be done when actually backing away from the load location after receiving or delivering a load, or when moving the truck out of a parked position where there is not sufficient room to move forward and out of that position. He should have taken those 2 pallets in separate loads rather than take them together in one oversized load, even with someone to guide him. No pedestrian should be near the fork truck when it is in motion. This is coming from someone who is very interested in becoming a forklift operator. Learning as I watch more of these scenarios. SAFETY FIRST and ALWAYS.👍

I have experience wet conditions in a isle lift truck with hard wheels if you can AVOID it because it could have lead to crashing into a rack or a person. It's like driving a car on ice you just have to ride it out and its scary luckily no one was hurt and nothing was damaged. It's like there is no steering or brakes at all. In a heavy rain the newly built roof was leaking and made puddles on the slick smooth floor in the warehouse

If everyone was that carefull these jobsworth managers would be having hissy fits, they put the pressure on and that's were shortcuts come from and accidents happen. But there the same nob heads that will tell you too be carefull and take your time, best option is just don't bother driving these things it's really not worth it.

If you've ever worked literally anywhere with forklift drivers, none of them drive like this because productivity would plummet with them taking twice as long to move stock... Hence why many places will put way more emphasis on the pedestrians not being distracted in the areas they operate and to stay the fuck out of their way

Yeah these safety videos are for company protection, once you sign the paperwork after watching,it’s hard to hold them accountable, drove at ford’s for over 20 years, you’d shut the line down being that safe, bottom line, drive with speed and common sense, and I’ve seen plenty of drivers with neither one
