    You may try booking through apps like IRTC, confirmticket. And it's not that hard to get the ticket, if you are looking for very very cheap tickets you might not get it but if you look for trains like vandebharath or even 3AC, 2AC classes in any trains will be available for you.

    they were attempting to sell u the tcket through tourist quota reserved only for foreign tourist or nri.(which is cheap and gives u a confirmed seat - for ur convenience because without seat is worse they think ) which most of the stations wont even mentione because though its cheap and u get a confirmed seat its bit of an extra work for station workers. but not chennai lol they are non corruptable as they could be. just a heads up get a sim card from station with ur passport. once u have it u can do it online u need indian phone number. u can also book a tourist erail pass for an entire month. bit pricy but definetly cheaper that europass.

    "Interesting" is not the word I would use to describe that trip! Do they have more expensive and nicer trains for people willing to pay more?

    • @bhootpurvmanusya
      @bhootpurvmanusya 3 місяці тому

      yes few 20000 - 30000 usd per seat is most expensive usually 100-300 inr no confirmed seat but can travel general tier 700 - 1000 inr per seat which u can sleep on hawkers allowed no ac (he travelled on this one ) 3 times thae amount 3 tier ac air con seat and no hawkers allowed (1700-4000 inr) double this ammount 2 nd tier then 1st tier slightly more than 2nd tier. most full are 3rd tier ac legally every train has to have coach of 1st two types to operate. train is for everybody. also train ticket collectors can fine u but cant deboard u unless u are a nuisance. but just for not having ticket they cant from 1st two types of coaches. high court legally forbade them to not use class with the types of coaches but rather use tier. and count of just the indian railway police is more than uk's entire military count. their approach time is 30 minutes or somestimes less they boast about it. personally tested it is. but u have to be technically savvy to register complaint online.

    Mike, I just got back from a 19 day moto tour of the Zanskar Valley and Kashmir. We stayed at the campsite you stayed at on September 18 and 20. We hiked into the Phuktar Gompa on the 19th. Amazing place and amazing people. When we were at the Monastery the Monks were also away so we must have been there very close to the time you were there. We went across the river to the small village and met the most wonderful couple working their crops. I will try and watch the rest of your video's. Cheers from Canada.

    Very maze-like tour. I'm surprised there are locked doors. I expected that, being a monastery, everything would be wide open and trusting. If you ever get back to the Albany area you should wander by the Grafton Peace Pagoda. The actual pagoda isn't much but they have a very nice temple/prayer room. Considering how your phones like to meander on their own have you ever though about bolting it to your forehead so it can't get away? 🙂 Last summer during trail magic I met three hikers who had lost their phones. Two were found and returned while one appears gone forever. Did you know squatting to poop is supposed to be better for you than sitting?

    • @mikethemeanderthal3826
      @mikethemeanderthal3826 10 місяців тому

      Oh wow, the Grafton Peace Pagoda. I'm sure I would enjoy visiting there. About locked doors here, there are many tourists visiting everyday so I understand that. I was in a learning center before starting the journey here and they used to leave their meditation hall unlocked but they started to notice ancient relics going missing (also a bunch of visiting out of towners) so they had to keep it locked except for official use. Pretty sad stae of mind for some people. And YES! Squatting is much much better 😊 I learned that some years ago. Our colon is purposefully bent\"closed" until we bring our knees above our waist (squatting), then then our colon becomes straightened 👍
