Praxis IM w/ Gateron X || Sound Test
I picked this board up a while ago to get a cheap Alice layout board, and this was probably the best option I could have gone with for a budget board. Top mount, true Alice layout, and it sounds pretty nice for what it is in my opinion. I'd recommend it as a budget Alice option if you want to try the layout.

Monokei Standard w/ SP Star Sacramentos || Sound Test
Переглядів 482Рік тому
Built this keyboard as a gift, and it's a nice budget option that offers a decent kit to have everything you need. Obviously swapped out the keycaps (she loves sharks) and the Cherry switches for some SP Stars which are pretty smooth. Definitely more of a quiet build with all the foam, but she likes it and that's all that matters. Keyboard: Monokei Standard Keycaps: GMK Hammerhead Light Plate: ...
Geonworks Frog TKL with SP Star Nana [Re-recorded] || Sound Test
Переглядів 592Рік тому
With my updated setup, I recorded this sound test again using my Lewitt LCT 540S large diaphragm condenser microphone mounted to an isolated stand, as opposed to my old test which had a Shure MV7 dynamic microphone which was mounted to a desk mount, which picked up every vibration possible and gave the recording an overall darker sound signature. The LCT 540S has been a pleasure to record with,...
Bakeneko with SP Star Blue Pinks || Sound Test
Переглядів 1,2 тис.Рік тому
The Bakeneko is my go-to board for trying out new switches and breaking stuff in. I wanted to try out the Blue Pinks to see how they compared to other SP Star linears, and they're a bit unique in that they have the sound of a long pole without necessarily being classified as a long pole switch. They're a bit scratchier than meteor whites, I would say they're halfway between a meteor white and a...
Geonworks Frog TKL with Zepsody Bluebonnets || Sound Test
Переглядів 519Рік тому
I struggled to find a configuration I really enjoyed with the Frog, but after desoldering a PCB two or three times I've finally settled on this build. The spacebar was the most difficult for me to find something I liked, and the Bluebonnets gave the spacebar that really satisfying feel and sound I had been looking for. Not much else to say about this board, I love my Frog and I love Geon. Keybo...
Vertex Arc60 with SP Star Polaris Greys, Plateless || Sound Test
Переглядів 872Рік тому
The Arc60 is destined to be plateless. I tried the hotswap PCB with the aluminum plate, and it really didn't stand out in any regard. Plateless though, this thing is crazy deep with really nice flex. I absolutely love the sound and feel of this board, and without a weight it's nice and light which is great for portability. A lot of big youtubers have their hands on a unit already, but my unbias...
JLabs Augur with Gateron X on FR4 Half Plate, DCS 9009 || Sound Test
Переглядів 802Рік тому
The Augur from JLabs is incredibly bouncy, and is one of my favorite boards in my collection for both feel and sound. The purple anodization is fantastic, and the bottom brass piece adds a nice little bit of heft to the board. In the configuration I have, the DCS keycaps really shine with how it affects the sound profile. I also love the feel and look of DCS overall, but sometimes I just prefer...
Wilba.tech Salvation with SP Star Nanas, CRP Keycaps || Sound Test
Переглядів 937Рік тому
The Salvation was my first group buy purchase, and after nearly two years I finally got it. I originally got the SP Star Nanas in anticipation of this board, so naturally I popped those into an old hot swap PCB first to try them out first. I'm very happy with this board, as the sound profile and typing feel cater to my preference. Some interior anodization problems were very noticeable such as ...
Geonworks Glare TKL with Cherry MX Blacks, CRP Keycaps || Sound Test
Переглядів 2 тис.Рік тому
My Glare TKL just got here, and I've only been using it for a couple of days. This thing is an absolute beast of a keyboard. The anodization is nice, the weight is thicc, and the typing angle will break your wrists if you type with improper form. I plan on running some other configs later on, but I'm enjoying some dry hyperglides for now. I don't have much else to say at the moment since I've b...
ZealPC Clickiez || Switch Review & Comparison
Переглядів 7 тис.2 роки тому
Clickiez finally came to my door after ordering them in February, and they've impressed me so far. I'm not against clicky switches in general, but usually Linears are my top pick followed by Tactiles. I've typed on Cherry Blues before, own some Box Navies, and have a few other individual clicky switches laying around as I show here in my review. The Clickiez take the Alps style click leaf and p...
Geonworks Frog with SP Star Nana Linear Switches || Sound Test
Переглядів 7542 роки тому
SP Star Nana switches are without a doubt my favorite switches in my collection. They're definitely the highest pitch linears I have, with the most satisfying bottom out feel and sound for my preference. I have other linears from SP Star such as the Meteor Whites, Sacramentos, Polaris Grays, and more recently the Blue Pink switches. I hope to compare all of these in another video because I thin...
NovelKeys NK87 Entry Edition with Boba U4Ts Lubed with Krytox 205g0 || Sound Test
Переглядів 8 тис.2 роки тому
I decided to lube the switches and they sound a lot better than before. These are the clear top Boba U4Ts for better RGB diffusion, and I feel like a the clear tops have a higher pitched and harsher topping out than "normal" Boba U4Ts, which I have in my own collection. Regardless, I did end up lubing them heavier than I usually do my switches. It positively affected the sound compared to the s...

did you get of the keyboard hobby?
@@maxthememer1780 nah I'm still in the hobby, just figuring out the direction I'd like to go in with future videos (also I hate editing)
Anyone know if these are factory lubed?
There's no factory lube on these 👍
This was the exact comparison I was in search of, MX Blues vs Jades vs Clickiez. Clickiez are on sale currently but still comes to 3 times the price of the Jades.. ouch. Thank you for the video!
i got kalth Glazed green. sadly I didn't seen comparison of em, but these zelios sounds fun!
It’s been 2 years and it still sounds like the day I got it despite being on it every day and playing games for thousands of hours thanks for the hard work for my perfect keyboard bud
thanks man :D
That cable looks familiar
I've always thought the Praxis IM was a nice kit.. especially for the price. ePBT x GoK BoW would've been my go-to pair with this as well; good taste & nice build!
How weird is this comapred to a more standard layout? I feel like you're typing slower than in other vids
Yep it definitely takes some getting used to, and forces proper typing techniques a bit more with the alphas being split. I never fully adjusted but I also didn't spend crazy long on this board before swapping to another to mix things up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Ayy he's back!
YOU MAKE THEM SOUND SO GOOD KEEP IT UP
what mount?
The Glare only offers top mount, but I screwed in every mounting point for the plate
did you put some polifill?
Nope, nothing added to the board.
where did you get sp star blue pinks from?
I got them from KNC Keys in May 2022, unfortunately I don't think they're available anymore!
I don't know man, but most people would mount that spacebar differently.
Had the same issue finding a good configuration for the Frog too. Settled on the Owlab Neon switches
Specs?
I love it but you could mess your computer up
?
If it is connected to his computer it could type randoms letters and might make it glitch or turn off at random times.
@@kennedybennett1755 most people do kb tests when pc is not plugged in or if monkeytype. it seems to me you might be new to the keyboard hobby or u just happened to find this video randomly, which is fine, so it makes sense why you might not understand what i am saying
@@puffinvalo yeah I don’t have a computer or keyboard so I don’t rlly understand Ty for being nice tho :)
So glad I found this channel
Sheesh another one!
Oh hell yeah
Any sound dampening?
Nope, none at all!
Sounds great, but it’s not green… 3 out of 5 🤷♀️
Yo this sounds amazing. And it looks like you're typing more lightly than in your other videos, is that true? If so is it because of the bounce?
Kermit the frog watches this video every day
Bro thank you for telling me to get a bakeneko forever ago, it's so freaking nice. These switches sound so cool on it too.
I'm glad you like your Bakeneko my guy, and now you've got your Salvation too! We'll get you experimenting with other switches soon 😉
Also here to say that the colorscheme is super badass too.
Wait what the fuck is my youtube @ name... This is disturbing
Lord above that's hotter than Ana De Armas
sounds amazing holy
my god
Here is another question. Where did you get that aluminum plate? Do you think it is worth to use an aluminum plate rather than the stock one with FR4?
The aluminum plate is a universal 60% plate I got from Mekanisk forever ago when I got my Fjell. I used the Bakeneko PCB (which has the cutouts for the friction o-ring mount) and the Fjell universal plate for this build because I like my boards a bit louder, and the FR4 was too dampening for my preference. It's not drastically different, but worth trying in my opinion for a louder switch sound!
For some reason the fr4 plate that comes with the Bakeneko is just so bad imo. I got an aluminum, carbon fiber and fr4 half plate and enjoy those are miles better.
@@TrevorBronowicki clackier? what made the differents as I'm suspecting the fr4 plate on mine is causing unfavorable sound
@@conutux722 I honestly don’t know lmao. I got my alu plate from Amazon then my carbon fiber and fr4 half plates from Carolina Mech. Maybe try those, I really liked them.
@@TrevorBronowicki how much is carolina mech shipping?
Your board sounds really good. Is this the NG black finish?
This is from the first run of Bakenekos, so this is just painted black
striker on black is oh so blessed
Sounds great!
Nice build. Spacebar sounds great. Any foam?
Thanks! No foam used at all.
SO NICE!!! also nice keycaps ;)
🐸
great build
Awesome build
Great, now I want Skittles…
Tell me more about the mini board up top
That's the SingaKBD Ocelot, a macro pad that went into group buy in 2021! Unfortunately extras are all gone, and there aren't any plans in the near future for more.
Love those caps
Dude that setup sounds great!
Sounds great! Are you using the fr4 or cem3 pcb?
This is the FR4 PCB! I picked up the CEM-3 as well, so I'll definitely try that at some point.
Nice vid, would recommend more visuals relating to what you’re talking about, or even B-roll or just keyboard shots, or even just zooming out. Camera just being your face the whole time is kinda boring
The spacebar looks flipped
what keycaps are those?
thanks man this helps alot
I'm interested in getting the Clickiez 40g, but I'm concerned I might find them TOO tactile or fatiguing to press down. Do you think they feel as heavy as a Box Jade or a Box Navy, or a little lighter?
They are extremely tactile, but I don't think they're as fatiguing as a Box Navy since the spring in a Navy is heavier. I'd say it's more in line with a Box Jade in terms of effort. The 40g are manageable but the 75g are definitely too much for me to use across the whole keyboard. It helped to have the 75g on modifiers to help the return of the key press, especially the spacebar.
@@TyKeysi use 72g linear switches, im not too familiar with the feel of clicky switches, would the 75g clicky switch be compatible to the 72g linear switches?
@@iamNazrak for the Clickiez there is minimal pre-travel before getting through the click, which (based on Zeal's force curves) peaks around 105g for the 40g variant, and 110g for the 75g variant. Once you pass through the click itself, that's when the remaining ~2.5mm of travel reflects the spring weighting of a linear (with regard to the force curve). However, in actuality you're already pressing hard enough to get past the tactility of the click, so you're gonna bottom out fast regardless. For reference, 60g 22mm springs are my sweet spot for linears, but I've gone up to 72g 17mm with the Zepsody Bluebonnets (which I enjoy). I prefer the 40g over the 75g Clickiez because I find the 75g more fatiguing to type on for a long period of time. Your preferences may differ from mine though, given you like using springs 12g heavier than I do. For what it's worth, I found 75g to basically be a necessity on the spacebar and modifiers to have strong and consistent returns on the key press. The price is brutal for these switches, so I completely understand the careful decision making. I hope this helps!
