Public must be the eyes, the ears by reporting unjustified increases in goods and services, and boycott those cartels and suppliers.     Just to add a point. Data centres in Malaysia will never be obsolete even though newer more and more powerful NVIDIA chips will keep evolving and enter the market. This is because as long as US technology sanctions on China stay, Chinese users who do not have access to the AI chips will continue to 'rent' the AI services provided by data centres in Malaysia remotely

    DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) programs, in general, are a disaster. Hiring should be done for one reason only: merit and suitability for the role, call it what you will. If you want the best-performing company, and thus a better overall economy, hire the best person for the role. To make that point, next time you or a family member are about to have an operation at a hospital, ask yourself, do you want the highest-performing doctor? Or the doctor who got in because the company had to meet a quota? The answer is the same for everyone. We want the best doctor, and the companies with the best people perform best-common sense. However, if you want your government to start spending money regulating and enforcing ideas orthogonal to capitalism, then well done, you've increased government size and, thus, spending. People need reminders that when they get that paycheck, the bigger the government, the bigger the tax bill. You want less inflation? Don’t ask for more government spending. The government only has three ways to pay for these kinds of programs: higher taxes, printing more money (leading to inflation), or debt. All of these screw the average citizen, whether they know it or not is another question. Most people have forgotten that not that long ago, you only needed one working parent to maintain a family and household. Most people do not read sufficient statistics to know that the cost of living relative to wages has been getting worse and worse decade after decade. We embraced women working for all the wrong reasons, forgetting that as women joined the workforce, the supply of workers increased, forcing wages downward. Forcing them into positions now based on some quota is a disastrous approach while looking to the government to regulate more and spend more-what a clusterfuck. Here’s a crazy idea: if a business owner wants to hire female staff, they do it. If they do not, they don’t. If there are market benefits to hiring women, companies will do it. If women feel they are underpaid, under represented, they can get together, form a company, and run it precisely how they choose. In my company, the two highest-paid employees are female. They were hired because they were A++ professionals. They were paid a lot because they brought immense value to the company. I personally believe in hiring for merit; it just happens that we’ve ended up with a mix of male and female employees, with the average female salary slightly higher than the male. Nobody in this podcast was gunning for regulation, which is good, but the idea was entertained. I would encourage employers to give female candidates an equal chance to be heard and respected-then hire for merit. I would encourage employers to pay people based on their merit, not on their gender. Most of all, I would encourage every citizen to understand the repercussions of begging for more regulations and a bigger government. On a final note, the pursuit of gender equality will be the downfall of society. Making money will take precedence over child-rearing, and as a result, birth rates will continue to plummet. Children, raised less by parents and more by the state, nannies, and extended family, will have higher levels of mental disorders and poorer health. That's the real problem; everything else is just a symptom, which is fun to talk about, but it's all just for play unless government spending is cut. The podcast itself was very well done. I appreciated the respectful conversation, where participants still provided clear perspectives without sounding like a diplomatic bowl of soup. Very nice. I will be listening to more-thank you.

    MY Economy cannot ABSORB locals who are talented and brilliant in High tech, Medical Sciences and Experts. Our local Uni are churning graduates that MY Industry needs. All in MY do not UPSkill to do the latest skills for mobility because many cannot afford say edx fees or corsera subjects. Spend Money eh and local MY Firms have NO job. Better to do business and open food stalls. Gormen job is paying RM3K private RM4K or RM3 per hour b4 deductions. Nasi Lemak cost RM15.

    One Chinese one Indian, both of you only talking about things from your perspective. We all know the nons going to work overseas will most likely leave Malaysia and live overseas permanently. KRI is actually telling the Malays to go overseas. Most of them are afraid to venture out and compete with others. Prefer to stay home in their comfort zone. You don't have to worry about them not coming back. They have already been brainwashed from young to reject western culture. They won't stay overseas permanently. Also they know their pot of gold lies back in Malaysia.

    90% dpd universiti2 awam mempunyai mutu pendidikan yg sangat rendah. Cuba lihat kedudkan uni2 ini pd peringkat atrbgsa spt QS dan THE( TIMES) Ranking dunia. Tambahan pula, Graduan2 tak fasih dlm bahasa antarabangsa (inggeris). Bgmn bekerja di dlm syarikat2 gergasi atrbgsa?

    Training own country staff to become more competent is the way to ask for higher salary in Malaysia. Been working in some MNC and SME before, I noticed the work ethics of some ethnicity is uttermost shameful (frequent MIA, MCs, taking longer unpaid leaves, incompetency in tasks) to be deemed for a higher pay. I meant, come on, this could be the reason why Malaysian employers is withholding an increment in salary here. They are most probably paying more to hire more workers to cover those unfulfilled job by incompetent some. Encouraging better work ethics locally is probably the best the solution in a long way.
