Thank you for putting the matter so clearly. As a former MPS teacher and parent, and current school volunteer, I know both the many struggles the district faces, and the wonderful things happening in MPS classrooms everyday. It is well past time to fairly fund our public schools.

polly williams would be rolling over in her grave the way the republicans have used her vision to help underserved milwaukee students with choice as a way to destroy to public education. thank you senator you are absolutely correct--those most challenging and disabled students will be left to the local public school system. As standardized test scores will surely be lower for public schools, the pro voucher crowd can point and say how their schools are better equipped to teach wisconsin students.
