Supposed to be a footpath I believe. Shame you didn't end up in a bramble bush.
You wouldn't want to break down up there! Stunning but definitely inhospitable.
Any chance for lactation? Please
Skyhill near Ramsey
@@johncarson2128 thanks 👍
Make sure you fill up before going over the mountain. Wouldn't want to run out of fuel 😮
Hi John, another good video of a good ride! How come it's always you that has to do the gates though? 😉
I'm glad someone noticed, good to hear from you again Steve. Still haven't spotted a wallaby, are you sure they exist :)
@@johncarson2128 100%! I'm over again for MGP and again on the 11th Sept for 5 nights. I'll double check for you! 😉
Was wondering if there was anywhere to ride a wr450 on the IOM. This answers my question
There's more than you can shake a stick at there-A weeks worth I'd say.
❤

Nice ride bro
Definitely faster guy in front, John’s tyres must be flat….
The guy in front looks like a pro . Has he been doing this for years .
Is nice that he waits for the camera guy to catch up.
@@davyprossI'm lucky to be able to follow him and learn.

Hi john heading over to the TT in june 24 would you have any GPX files showing the green lanes?
I don't but I've a pdf map of the lanes I could send you
Hi can you tell me the location where you join this trail from the main road please
Access road is at the side of the Glen Mona hotel at the Laxey end of Glen Mona village.
Many thanks
man got no chills
Great video john, you know I've always thought of that trail as winding and flat but watching the video really captures the curvature of the mountain, it looks cool as your blasting along. I definitely prefer the other way, with it being more challenging the way you went. Cool.
I usually do it in the opposite direction, especially when I've got company as the first section is pretty tough. It's been a while since I done it that way, surprised me how steep the hill is (Just after the hard bit at the start) and how long the steep bit goes on for. It does level out quite a bit after that and sort of feels like you are riding around the side of the hills without too big a change in elevation. Its a great trail, I'll get the bottom section sorted without stopping next year, someone told me I just need to give it more beans 😀
😂give it some bollocks!
hah - that first hairpin often catches me out !!
nearly !! I've only managed to clear it (up) about once, I think !! (Good breaker of levers etc !! )
I've now all winter to plot my way up it, it's flippin nasty :o) You've been quiet lately, any biking adventures this year?
Just Wild Atlantic Way - (June) still havent got around to editing on-bike footage.... Hope to upload soon. Took a guy around TT week - fell off on Slieau Whallian rocks and really bruised shoulder (the good one !) needless to say - last track of the day ! havent been out on Honda since... Shoulder was a bit of a nuisance on Ireland trip...! OK now. Just bought a couple of Kayaks. Good in this hot weather !! :P @@johncarson2128

Smart that john, going at a good pace there too, brings back memories.
If you ever want a proper day out with guaranteed fun and laughs go with “manx trax and trails) we go off piste where the real fun begins.
Hi John. We met you last April up at the Mountain Box. The old guys on the trails. I'm planning next year. Can you please remind me of the hotel you use in Douglas. Thanks. Roger
The Kings Guest House on Queens Promenade. The girl that runs it is called Sue. Nice to hear from you guys again 👍🏻 <edit> I have Mikes phone number, can whatsapp him some updated stuff and more details on the guesthouse if you want?
ua-cam.com/video/hrSVyMeHojw/v-deo.html Roger, the guest house is at the end of this video, even has a garage to keep your bikes cosy in 👍
@johncarson2128 thanks John. We may see you next year. Keep those videos coming.
John do you have a gpx route of this or can you tell me the route especially the first two trails thanks
you are so underrated
My da would of wheelied over that twig on the DR ........
That was demonstration of minimal effort and efficiency, you too can attain that level if you keep practising 👍
Nice one John-Glad to see it isn't just me taking an unplanned breather against the banks now and then! ;-)
I swerved to miss a Wallaby, honestly Steve 🤣
@@johncarson2128 Ha Ha! Good one-I'll use that next time!
Another trip over? You must have a good deal with the Steam Packet co!
Do live on the island or have you got planned routes
I'm a visitor on the Island, I've got to be reasonably familiar with the trail locations. I'd recommend getting in touch with Trail Riding Isle of Man or Manx Track & Trails if you are a visitor.
I have been many times but each time get lost I follow John whittles routes how did u get on with the slot route worst on island
@@GaryParnaby-hc9ih Not sure where you mean by the slot route? Hardest trail on the Island by far is the Hard slabs on the Sound Road (Doarlish Cashen) I'm not good enough for it so I avoid, it's the only one I don't do though.
Yes that’s the one I walked down it nearly finished me off 3 of us nearly 60 years of age way above our ability good videos to watch many thanks
@@GaryParnaby-hc9ih I'm 59, I feel your pain 😃
Worth it for the views.
It is, shoulders and arms are usually killing me by the top gate but this time I had a short rest mid trail which helped :)
Need all the help I can get 😂
Should have built a stile for you at the gate!
Nice one!
Nice video. Where is a start point? Please
Start point just North of Laxey, finishes in Glen Mona
@@johncarson2128 thanks very much(With a bit of luck, I might be able to find it😀👍)
Good ride out that john, much of that reminds me of the iom. There must be some great tips in Ireland.
Hi John, would you mind dropping me a message on Facebook? (Or here, not sure if it’s possible but I can’t find the button if it is)
I thought you'd found more lanes that I didn't know-then recognised them and was gobsmacked how different they look after a few months and a winter!
Once again a couple I don't recognise here...
They are all on your map Steve, if you look at the videos extended description <more> I've named the trails 👍🏻
@@johncarson2128 yes, I knew they would be. I obviously need to make a special effort next time I'm over. No idea when that will be on a trail bike though. Yet.
That 3rd lane up the hill-It is steeper than the videos make it look! I think you mentioned that on one of my videos? I took my Morini up there and wished I was better prepared. Good videos again!
It is Steve, I appear to get caught up in a gorse bush at one point, not sure how that happened 🤣
@@johncarson2128 yes, and you looked as if you were going to dive into the bank I headbutted earlier on! 😏
@@stevebrown7584 I definitely didn't headbutt anything, result 👍🏻
Can you share what route you took , some of these not been down , nice sunny day
Don't have any routes recorded as such, the last trail wouldn't have followed the other 3, I don't record everything and it's just how I edited it.
You should have an email Gary
@John Carson thanks got email.... already subscribe to you .. that's why I asked.....regards gaz
Wow Very difficult ride
So you've been over again already? You lucky sod! Oh and I like the "that doesn't count" ;-) I'll use that!
Hi Steve, good to hear from you. You and Mick back over for the ManxGP again? As for my non crash (It didn't happen) it's an accepted norm like the 10 second rule for food on the floor 😀
@@johncarson2128 not planned to be there at all this year, too much other stuff going on. I do plan to go over in October with another group but sadly no trail riding involved. If that changes I'll warn you. 😉
nice to how the tracks are lately - cutting up nicely ! Better get back out b4 they start 'motorwaying' again... !! :P
I don't mind 'motorwaying' Unless of course that means chucking huge rocks on the trail like at Glen Mona or the Dowse 🤣
@@johncarson2128 ooh - rocks are good ! :P its when they literally 'tarmac' or gravel surface them ... :/
mm - never bothered much with the 'South' tracks .... that one by Murray's Museum is quite a long one, isn't it ! Must have a look.
Yeah, not so many in the south, but start at Quinne's Hill then that trail at Murrays, one at Ballabeg, one over by the sloc and the one at Bradda East make a visit to Castletown worthwhile and that is always a good thing for this tourist 😀
@@johncarson2128 The boards at Sky Hill are a lot easier to get on now ....! (used to be a little 4 inch plank!)
They’ll need to widen the safety fence for Davy for sure…
