Hello, I'm just some nerd on the internet that likes to draw animatics sometimes. I don't post all that often, but I hope you enjoy my stuff regardless!
The Star Beast (Disney Wish Fan Animatic)
Oh hey look, it's a full thing! With full voice acting! God I can't wait to finish the whole video essay and show it off, everyone's doing a GREAT job with everything.
This segment was the beginning of the end I think haha. What was originally going to be a maybe hour-long video of me explaining rewrite ideas into a mic turned into a giant two-parter of a video after I thought "Hey, maybe this idea would work better if I made some storyboards for it instead." And now Part 1 of the video essay contains over 23 storyboarded segments! All fully voiced! I'm very normal about this project as you can tell.

He's so baby 💕 why couldn't we have gotten this Star boy?
You have a really nice animatic here. Very clean lines and gestures, voice acting, a soundtrack and foley. Not to mention a good use of camera movement! The timing of the jokes were on point and the dialogue was funny. Very good job. How many hours did this take to make if you don’t mind me asking. And I assume you’re working in Storyboard pro?
@@amievandzura4087 Aww, thank you so much!! I'd like to think comedy is one of my strong suits when it comes to these things haha. I wasn't really keeping track of how long it was taking me I'm afraid, but I worked on it on and off for at least a week I think. Also, funny enough, I'm not using storyboard pro! I draw the frames/assets in Clip Studio EX and then cut it together in Wondershare Filmora with all the audio bits.
@@GeekyVanDerWeeky Wow, so editing all that together too must have been an undertaking as well! I think you did a lot of work in just one week! Well I can't wait to see what you having coming next! Keep up the good work!

AAAAA this is so cute - I haven't seen a wish animatic in a hot second and I love how his voice has some tinges of Mickey in it since Star was inspired by Mickey (idk if that was intentional but it's a great touch!) amazing job!
Okay admittedly, not intentional, but I DID know of the mickey inspirations with Star so that just kinda works out great haha! My bud Alex (Starboy's voice in the video) just had a character he played a while back that sounded close to how I imagined this version of Star might sound, so I asked if he could emulate that.
Yay! Another creative creator creating! More specifically, correcting a wrong made and giving us what we really wanted after it was stolen! This is honestly the best rewrite I’ve heard thus far! It states what she wants more clearly, walks us through her thought process as it’s happening, and makes her relationship to the king and the wishes he keeps more personal; the lyrics stay close to the melody without sounding too wordy or off beat and keep a certain simplicity that is remnant of Howard Ashman’s work on “Part of your world”(Love how similar Asha’s opening monologue is to Ariel’s=3💖). I also love how it adds a feeling of obligation to Asha’s desire to restore everyone’s wishes seeing as she’s the princess in the original concept and thus is responsible for the welfare of her kingdom. I also appreciate how her personality is “quirky” but in a meaningful way that feels personal to her with how she’s “never been good at thinking things through”. She’s not just another “quirky” main girl trope like she ended up being. I hope to see someone come close to recreating the film the way it should’ve been made because seeing all the original concept work and art styling for the movie compared to what it ended up being breaks my heart a lot.
