Ad interruptions every five minutes. I give up.
What the AF is the music for
20 minutes into it and absolutely nothing has happened.....its a kind of drawing room comedy of manners, although no doubt a murder mystery comes into it after an hour or two
Clark Betty Thompson Daniel Perez Dorothy
Davis Barbara Williams Michael Martinez Joseph
Is the music supposed to piss someone off? It's not like this is the only source
Loud music at 6:27. Can't here the reading at crucial point of story. Very frustrating. More at 6:35. Chapter 17.
Too many ads. I couldn’t take it anymore!
Same: twenty minutes in and there've been four interruptions already. I can't listen to over seven hours' worth with ads every five minutes; that'd be....<counts on fingers> well over 60 ad breaks
@@pollycorbishley1641 Thank you! Enjoy the weekend!
too many ads!
That’s not Hugh Fraser
It is Hugh Fraser
Your channel just lost my sub and like......... Too bad you had to blast loud music at the 6:27 point, just when it was really getting exciting.. Such a disappointment.
I’m only about 1/4 into this audio book and Emilia Fox is doing a really good job as narrator. The narration, to me, is Key. It either makes or breaks any book, verse or journalistic piece. Now I can snuggle down with a very easy crochet project and re-remember just why they didn’t ask Evan’s? (Am waiting with nervous anticipation for the ghastly music)….. hope it doesn’t make me jump and drop my hook😱.
I’m sick & tired of loud advertisements blasting out. I’ll not listen to your site any longer😖😡
What's going on with this audio story? Suddenly, right towards the end, some sort of pop music starts playing so I can't hear the words. No way can I get rid of it. Really spoilt the story for me, never found out who the murderer was.
The music starts at about 5:57:15. Here's the text from that section in case you want to skip it, to 5:58:44. Don't read this text if you don't want to be spoiled on stuff. (Frankie) The man's too damned clever.' 'He's been too clever for us,' said Bobby gloomily. 'Frankie, do you know what annoys me most about this business?' 'No. What?' 'That even now, when we're going to be hurled into the next world, we still don't know who Evans is.' 'Let's ask him,' said Frankie. 'You know - a last-minute boon. He can't refuse to tell us. I agree with you that I simply can't die without having my curiosity satisfied.' There was a silence, then Bobby said: 'Do you think we ought to yell for help - a sort of last chance? It's about the only chance we've got.' 'Not yet,' said Frankie. 'In the first place, I don't believe anyone would hear - he'd never risk it otherwise - and in the second place, I feel I just can't bear waiting here to be killed without being able to speak or be spoken to. Let's leave shouting till the last possible moment. It's - it's so comforting having you to talk to.' Her voice wavered a little over the last words. 'I've got you into an awful mess, Frankie.' 'Oh! that's all right. You couldn't have kept me out. I wanted to come in. Bobby, do you think he'll really pull it off? Us, I mean.' 'I'm terribly afraid he will. He's so damnably efficient.' 'Bobby, do you believe now that it was he who killed Henry Bassington-ffrench?'
It starts again at 6:12:40. Here's the text in case you want to skip to 6:13:45. This is super spoilery so don't read it if you're not up to this part. ************************************************************************** 'And Moira?' demanded Bobby. 'Did you entice her away somehow?' Roger chuckled. The question seemed to amuse him. 'Forgery is a very useful art, my dear Jones,' he said. 'You swine,' said Bobby. Frankie intervened. She was still full of curiosity, and their prisoner seemed in an obliging mood. 'Why did you pretend to be Dr Nicholson?' she asked. 'Why did I, now?' Roger seemed to be asking the question of himself. 'Partly, I think, the fun of seeing whether I could spoof you both. You were so very sure that poor old Nicholson was in it up to the neck.' He laughed and Frankie blushed. 'Just because he cross questioned you a bit about the details of your accident - in his pompous way. It was an irritating fad of his -- accuracy in details.' 'And really,' said Frankie slowly, 'he was quite innocent?' 'As a child unborn,' said Roger. '
Female voices are dreadful. Otherwise excellent.
for people wondering, the 1000 pounds a year that Bobby is offered is equivalent to about 90,000 UK pounds in 2024, which is about $110,000 US.
To get these wonderful stories free on audio youtube yousometimes havr to put up with a couple minutes of horrid music. Small price to pay. Enjoyed this one muchly. Thank you
But why that music? Is it a recording mistake?
At the end loud music begins to play and you don t hear what is being said.
HORRIBLE MUSIC .
Commercials NOOOOO
Used to be able to listen to these books with no commercials somehow. Oh well. Still better than paying 20 a book om audible. Of course I could just create a 6th audible account and get it for free lol
Is is so good, so funny, so many jokes, tongue in cheek humour, I read this book as a young woman, now 40 something years later, find it so much funnier. The lady does the voices perfectly.
11😊0😊pppppppppp0
HORRIBLE MUSIC INTERRUPTIONS...too bad it is the only one read by Hugh Fraser. The one other is AI - or a person unaccustomed to American or British English.
What's with the totally unconnected, very loud, music, which plays over the finale?
Oh, the music vanished when I turned it down 😮
What's with the random music near the end? It's so loud that it covers everything 😩
Attempts to avoid copyright claim/strike by altering the audio signature. It (1) doesn't work if it is only occasionally and (2) is rather annoying.
@@marphod Thank you
Why does loud music interrupt this audio book?
Ruins book
Very irritating!
Can't hear most of his summing up. Why the music? Completely spoils it.
Ho ho
That music at the end is cruel and unusual punishment
I love Hugh Fraser. Far too many adverts though. A few you don't mind, but a bit over the top
Why so many commercials? There should never be commercials
I always enjoy these, & hugh frasers narration, but why this one had ridiculous pointless music i have no idea. gave up half way through. I'll stick to the others in future
Within two minutes a commercial 😑
Good job with the American accents.
Music drowns out the stories at critical points.
Too many adds….must be one every 10 mins. Such a shame
Too many commercials.
The music put over key dialogue and important parts of the story is absolutely maddening. Can’t understand why it is there.
It's awful. No reason for it. i gave up , it annoyed me too much
I understand why it is there - it helps keep the audio on air and not taken down by those with copyright of the audio without that music. Shame that part of it is over the final Big Reveal of who dunnit by Poirot, but it's still possible to hear the story. Thank you for uploading the play, much appreciated, the music is ok, and better than no audio at all !
@@varianreeves7553 I've never heard music on any of the other, vast numbers, of Christie audiobooks that have been up for ages.
Please take the music off or at least lower it! Cannot hear the dialogue. Thank you.
@@lucyw.7597that is why, and I have heard it on others. I've also seen many of her stories taken down, unfortunately.
I love how besides being the best detective in the world the true calling of Papa Poirot's heart is match making 😂❤ and healing hearts
I've just finished the story. If you are still listening do not get discouraged from continuing due to some of the comments about the music. It doesn't take that long, you can even listen to what the character is saying and if the music bothers you you can turn it down and read until the music stops It was a great recording with the best reader IMO Hugh Frasier and an absolute treat. I'll listen to it again when I forget some of the details. I knew the story but as I've also seen the tv series where they change plot and murderers it provides enough doubt to always enjoy it again Thank you for uploading it
Did they change the story / plot on the British 'David Suchet' version? They shouldn't do that, Christie is the author...a very good one at that.
I can't read anything. Very disappointed.
hahahah Captain Hastings
Why the music to interfere??? 2x. How unprofessional!
It's not that bad. You can still listen to the story and we wouldn't be able to listen for free without that. Besides is very short. You get a wonderful experience in exchange for very short music. Doesn't seem unprofessional to me
Just adverts not unprofessional wouldn't be free otherwise.
The noise at the end when he is doing the reveal is really annoying
What is that loud music coming in between? Can't even hear the story!
What was the point of the terrible loud music just when the important facts were being disclosed. That was very offputting. Don't bother to listen to this audio.
The adverts 😢
Thank you for these audios - please make more
Definitely one of her best books, I love Fraser's narration 😄
I really enjoy these stories purely because it's Hugh Fraser wonderful voice narrating them , Thank you so much. You have gotten me through some tough times due to illness
