The most important tool to keep you alive is your brain , unfortunately there are so many people that don’t have one and you can’t get one at harbour freight . They have this new thing called extremely accurate weather forecasting . Stay home and safe and have a good generator . Stay off the roads
Hear that advice all the time but somehow folks think they're immune to the effects of adverse weather conditions
Why more importantly Buffalo? 47 people huh. Do you not realize Tx black out 246 died?
Yes I remember reading about the Texas ice storm, and many other areas in the US and Canada where lives were lost due to extreme winter weather. Not to trivialize other storms but that storm in Buffalo came with a ton of snow which was the theme by which my video was based on. I'm in the process of producing a video surrounding Van Life/ RV life in extreme winter conditions, and will be making reference to the Texas ice storm of a few years ago.
Because I live in North Carolina, winter van life is actually pretty great. Van life in the late spring and summer and early fall is very difficult because it is very very hot outside.
Glad to hear it. Here in Eastern Canada it gets very cold at times along with the rest of the country
Super vidéo, learning a lot, thanks, great job 👏
Your welcome
Very good video, full of great info
Just trying to help as many people as I can

@@Jean.A.squirrel Turning into a camper van for year round camping
Great video. I'm headed back to MN (in December). I was born and raised in MN and learned to keep a winter safety kit in my car (and I have had to use it a few times).
Good on you. Stay safe
Cut Reflectix (foiled bubblewrap) to fit your windows it will help HUGELY if you need to keep the warmth in a space. Tuck the pieces into your window frames and you have cut off a major source of cold from the windows.😊
Agreed.
The wildlife appreciate your discretion!
I thought they might
I’ve done it twice 2 different times It still sucked But I made it First time I was in my work van Luckily I hade a dozen dropped clothes
It's never fun. Good on you for making it through
Keep 5 ten dollars or more in cash if near a store lost power outage still be able to buy a few things
Instead of the blanket you should have a winter sleeping bag a good one not a cheep carp one. Water and food. If nothing else it will be important. Should fill your gas but if you don't should have a sleeping bag.
Great advice. Thanks
Oh and where do you find the transmission fluid dip stick…wait for it…there is none. 😡
That's right. Only reservoirs. That's the new reality
This clown talks like a restarted kindergartener‼️
I have a 2019 Ram Promaster. So the battery is inside. Big deal. When was the last time you needed to access the battery? This guy talks funny, too.
Now I know what van to avoid, thanks for the info.
What would you expect from Fiat motor. Fiat couldn’t build a portable radio that didn’t leak oil.
Ram Amateur Master, basic stupid placement mistakes.
I actually like the battery located low in the chassis which improves handling.
my dads 1955 half ton dodge panel truck similar to what this van is used for was a plate under mat a plate covered the 6volt battery . and many other trucks had that place for battery and no remote jumper spots . as for dip stick i found it as soon as i opened hood the filter not that easy i think i found it while the 55 didn't have filter others didn't have spin off if they had a filter seems many gone backwards wit filter that drip oil when changing Toyotas on the tird model is crazy remove skid panel then 2 gasket filter with no canaster spin off .
I think that vehicle companies are making their vehicles less customer maintenance user friendly intentionally so that you have to take it to their service departments.
Check your engine oil before you start the engine, clueless.
Age old advice: "It's a good idea to check your car's oil level every time you fill up with gas"
Ok after double and triple checking, the 2014-2024 promasters ALL have the oil dipstick handle right beside the oil fill cap. After rewatching your video showing where your dipstick is located I REALLY think yours has been modified. Maybe previous owner broke the tube and they just cut it off to lower position???? There are even numerous youtube videos showing checking oil levels on promasters showing the correct location for the oil dipstick. Someone has modified yours.
Mine is the ProMaster 3500. Maybe that's why
@@survivalns124 My 2023 Promaster 3500 has the dipstick up high near the oil fill cap as described above. Easy to reach and no problem checking the oil level with a warm engine.
@@vrp-geo0224 after watching some of his other videos I see he bought the van used. My guess is it was wrecked at one time and when they repaired it they cut the dipstick tube down. ALL versions of promasters 2014-2024 have the dipstick location in same spot as yours and mine. A simple internet search would tell him that.
What year is that Promaster? My 2020 has the oil dipstick handle right beside the oil fill cap.
2020 ProMaster 3500
Which is crazy because heavy snowstorms happen often enough for people to be aware of the dangers and the necessities that need to be in the car.
You're so right, yet people often think it won't happen to them until it does
It’s amazing that after all of these years, Chrysler just keeps effing up!
Crazy isn't it. Even when it's in there face, they still refuse to listen
first off only the v 6 is Chrysler possible trans the van was designed like the transit ford were designed in Europe and i driven vans and trucks 50 + yrs all brands of American made its not too bad my major complaint no key lock on passenger and slider door
@@jar407 Yup, you're right
Good day! Great to see another helpful video.
Thank you.
A case of beer and a carton of cigarettes. Notrthern Michigan emergency kit.
Many folks would agree with that
That’s what the use in Aircraft manufacturing , they typically use the high dollar 3M product. I have planned kits for a major manufacturer and they use thousands panels on the skin between the ribs and stringers… for sound damping especially on the luxurious corporate jet market.
This product is just awesome.
Wow you are brave ❤ no tools!!!!
This DIY van build has been in the planning stages for two years. Two years of researching materials and equipment, watching videos, taking a ton of notes for a no tool build
Cool! Can’t wait to see the video on this awesome project. Way to go!👍✌️🎈

Hi Sir,,,,I Live On The South Shore Area Of N.S & I Got 2 Of These B.G Knives & I Love Them !! I Keep One In My Car Full Time & The Other 1 I Keep In My Camping Backpack !! These Are Long Discontinued & I Go On Gunpost Every So Often & Buy Them Up As Soon They Come Up For Sale !!
I also have 2. The Ultimate and the ultimate pro. Great knives for survival scenarios or just camping and backpacking
But will it cost YOU an arm, or more to the point, a leg?
Life over limb!
Great knife the BG pro many great memory's, stabbed my first wife with BG pro.
How did that happen?
Peeperatio? Isn’t an iptip
How do you prepare for this as a homeless and broke?
That's a tough one.
I watched your surviving in a car in winter video. Since snow is a great insulator, is it ever better to make a shelter out of snow. You could line it with a tarp and sleep inside it with your winter bag and wool blanket. Would that be warmer than the inside of your vehicle? Thank you for your information!
In theory it sounds plausible, however, in order to make a viable snow cave you need about 10-12 feet of snow which has settled for quite some time in order for the snow cave to be stable once you begin to dig it out or else it will just crumble. Making a snow cave by the roadside will never work. Have you ever heard of anyone doing that? In the wilderness this becomes more plausible since the snow has had time to settle making it easier to construct one. If done properly, the inside of a snow cave the temperature can easily reach 0 degrees Celsius. Add a candle or two and it will be quite comfortable regardless of the outside temperature.
If possible, park facing the wind so the snow doesn't collect around the exhaust pipe. Neighbor said his buddy died in a similar situation.
I agree with you. And it’s so disrespectful to the families that lost their loved ones. What a mess.
Our government under it's current Prime Minister has ruined our international reputation not to mention it's uncertain future
Great video .anestis from greece.good job
Thank you for your comment. Stay safe
Here in Ireland we have had -2 deg C! people get very flustered with a freezing temperature ! I think the many east Europeans who live here do laugh at us because in their home countries deal with maybe - 20 deg C. but Canada is something else, its a battle for survival. There is a lot of unusual weather around the world right now Jan '24. Because Ireland and England are islands they normally don't experience really cold weather, there is also Gulf Stream which comes across the Atlantic ocean to heat the Islands, but when you get into large land masses like Canada or Russia, its a different story
I get the same reaction from my friends back home in Portugal.
That is ridiculous. This society is horrendous. Stay safe.
It's sickening
Yt suggested your channel . The title is nice. I'm sad the video ended...u seem interesting. ML ❤️
Thank you for your comment. Hope you have a great year. I will be posting several interesting videos this winter.
Mylar blanket to go with that wool one.
How waterproof is this tent?
As you saw in the video, it stood up to winds of 70km/hr {50 miles/hr} and heavy overnight rains and not a single drop of rain made it's way inside. Very waterproof.
lmao did you watch the video? I'm sorry but the entire thing was him testing and demonstrating the waterproofness..
@@______4790 some tents says waterproof but can’t stand storms. The op replied the answer I needed already.
Did you leave your vehicle running during the night?
No. Not even used the vehicle's heater once throughout the night.
I would add a bag of sand, small shovel (like the military ones you can buy in a surplus store), and a few sticks of candle and small lighter. If your vehicle's heater is not hot enough, put a piece of cardboard in front of your radiator.
Some good tips to consider. Thanks for sharing
Loved your grin as you pulled away from the curb with the selfie stick out the window.
