I went on open day 2018 and this old army guy from ww1 and ww2 gavee a bullet not click bait but the police checked my dads car i was saying to the police i got it of someone at blyth battary police sayed no one would have gave u a bullet my mum and dad said he is not lying some one did give him a bullet police said ill be on my way its a mistake ill go to blyth batery now and ask people if they have gave u a bullet

I remember this place from the 1960's and early 1970's, when the family would stay in a caravan on the Gilhespy Caravan site opposite. Back then the bandstand was a paddling pool for the kids. Blyth was a super place in the 1960's, but by the 1970's it had gone downhill fast. I have many fond memories of fishing from South Beach, West Pier, South Harbour, Staithes and Cambois. Loved the place and was still spending a lot of time there as a teenager in the 1970's.
