We lived in the Boise area for 27 years before moving away in 2022. This is, by FAR, the most complete and accurate description of the Boise area that I've seen. It is exceedingly rare to find that in a real estate video, so well done! For us, we really felt that Boise lost its way in the last 10-15 years, selling out to growth at the cost of any local character. Some things we were willing to put up with over the years, but it seemed like the positives diminished, while the negatives kept growing. There's still probably a lot to like about the Boise area, but I'm glad we moved and I could never see us moving back. For anyone considering moving to Boise, definitely take note of what this video covers, it is very accurate.

Gun culture and gun laws are two different things. Idaho gun laws are very lax and allow the average person to buy and carry most weapons without issue. Castle and stand your ground doctrine in full effect there.This lady went to scheels... which is where most idahoans don't go to buy a gun and gun buying does not take as long as dude was taking. They ask if you have filled the form out before and go on their way and place the call. As far as gun culture, this is cringe and fud central. Open blackhawk style holsters with some XD or M&P at best, unsecured and worn at 5 and 6 o'clock. Cringe open carry of rifles at random times on the state capitol for no reason. And the good ol wheelgun on the hip of some guy with a brand new cowboy hat at walmart is a weekly deal. The ranges are usually witness to the bad and non-existant training here but that's on par for most places. Most shooting sites out in the desert are usually an excuse for people to dump furniture and appliances. Hunting around southern Idaho has become very hard with the influx of people and zero etiquette of hunting. Its now a bunch of dudes cruising around in UTVs on top of each other scaring the game around. Nobody understands backstops nor how to not ride 60mph through someones camp. All in all a great place that is quickly losing its identity and what made it a great place to grow up hunting and shooting. The out of state conservatives moving here are very different and seem to think this place is the wild west and they love to ignore the laws while being karens everywhere they go.

I love living in Idaho and i love watching Californians come here and complain about the weather, the politics, the way we drive and our love of guns. Soo my message to people from commie-fornia is if you don't like it here the way it is leave. We won't miss you.

I liked Idaho, I also love where I live in California. When visiting friends in Nampa enjoying a meal on a patio a man listening to our conversation realized we were from California and he stood up and went on and on about California and Californians suck and hopes we never move there.I educated me on the He is a minority I hope in that feeling. it always depends on the situation. my wife and, I moved from Sacramento . glad we got out of California . its a god awful state. they need to get rid of that governor . our kids are grown and, gone. im a huge 2nd amendment gun owner. They are a young couple with a lot of needs when it comes to friends, family, church, etc; So, it just depends on the family.

They seem like a good, moral young family, there is surprisingly a lot of people like them still in CA, not all woke weirdos, criminals and or drug addicts…..yet. Better to make your money in California before leaving, to get ahead for most, that means head down and digging into a somewhat pricey uncomfortable mortgage in the beginning, for many in rough, up and coming neighborhoods on the outskirts of pricey problematic large metro areas, long commutes, long hours when you’re young, missing a lot of kids events, also easy to get caught up in plastic fantastic, live good but as frugal as possible, sock away as much as you can in pretax retirement accounts helps to keep the taxes down, before you know it 20-30 years goes by and your 401ks and or Roths are looking good, house is worth much more of what a comparable home areas like Treasure Valley but by that time kids are grown, life is predictable, weather is good, you get complacent, hard to leave the devil you know.
