@@ukbasedhomeland Devon is definitely a better place to ride. There are a few places around London that are good to ride, but with me getting my R1 at the back end of summer, I’ll just have to enjoy them properly next year. A road trip is definitely in order though.

@@inlinescreamer I hear you, I can’t relate but I get it. Between traffic, parking, associated costs. It’s dreadful. What you currently riding!?!
@@TKRydezz Honda Hornet (600), I had it for almost 10 years, can't part with it, comfy and it's been so good to me, got a full system and revs to almost 14k plenty fast and loud for me and never felt I needed more. I do love the inline sound hence my username, she screams so good never get tired of it. I mostly ride around west London so I don't get into much traffic around here, used to do courier work in centre but did that on a 125. Wouldn't like to ride a big bike there regularly. Btw now that Christmas and New years is around the corner, better to avoid riding at night time unless you absolutely have to, or any festive day for that matter, drunkards will be driving everywhere, (more so than usual) in case someone reading this isn't aware, it's a good reminder. 👍
@@inlinescreamer nice, sounds like you’ve got your forever bike. If I used it to commute regularly then I would do like you didn’t and have something smaller for sure, but only use it 1/2 days and it’s not so bad as I don’t typically go through central. And Yh, Xmas times, people are off trying to enjoy and the number of poor drivers on the roads always increase. 👊🏾
There’s a difference between a 1000cc hyper sports bike & a 1000 naked. Gearing & handling for street use are totally different. Z1000 London boy here. Wouldn’t have it any other way. Subscribed ❤
@@DSO1994 for sure, I’ve not ridden any of them but can imagine. Shorter wheel base and lighter, turning circles look far better to because of the handle bar position. And thanks, glad to have you as part of the family 👊🏾
@ wheel base on a naked is generally greater on a naked bike due to fork rake & naked bikes are generally slightly heavier but not by much. Obviously those things depend on the bike itself. Gearing on sports bikes is higher & yes upright handlebars are better for street riding as posed to a sports bike. Weight on a naked, or any bike, can be reduced by a good 5kg by fitting a full system high flow exhaust. Just like chatting bikes 👊
@@DSO1994 ok, didn’t expect that on the wheel base. Your seriously clued up. I use to be that way with cars as I always opted to do any work on them myself first. Now I’m back on a bike, I’m gonna start working on it myself and start learning more about bike and all that.

3:00😂😂 3:40 and this is the part that scares me about getting a bike. Notice how he took no accountability. Started blaming you and saying you were looking at a phone and slowing down when from his lane on the right he should have seen the bus was stopped and there was nowhere to go. Depends on where and when you’re riding in central. But I agree a ped or E bike is probably the most efficient. I have been toying with the idea of getting a 350 to 500 for London instead of using my Transalp XL750. When I had my CB500F I could go back to my despatch rider days thin gap sliding with the best of them. Something that needs a bit of width planning on the TA. Wishing you well and safe journeys.
@@davecarrera might be good shout. That’s quite the sizeable bike. Your turning radius if far better that a sports bike but the overall size. Especially if you have side bags, limits you a lot. what insurance you with bro and i go to work on my 125 but do i need to actually put it as social and commuting ? i want to make my insurance cheaper
@@Flock23 I sorted my cover through Swinton and the is insurer is ‘Ageas Insurance Limited’…. Found it through a comparison site. I’m my case, comprehensive was cheaper than the third party options so I’d always say switch back and forth to see how it changes. With some insurers, the third party options where a few hundred more expensive than comprehensive. Also, having more or better bike security can help too aswell as having a tracker. I think it’s called GPS Bob where you get a tracker with a few years of data preloaded so your not stuck with a subscription but I’ll Have to confirm that. As for commuting, obviously you don’t use it to commute every single day ‘wink wink’ and God forbid that anything happen, you were only travelling to the gym near your work place to collect your flask ‘wink wink’. It takes. Bit of tweaking and adjusting things to try and bring it down, but dont go too crazy and flat out lie/ make things up as this will be considered fraud

I think you said your insurance and road tax (combined) was about £270, if that is true there is no way you are 22 haha 😂🤣!! £270 is a memorable number for me because back in 1983 when I was 21 I paid Bennett’s £270 for insurance on my Triumph Bonneville 750 (third party fire and theft only). Mind you that was a lot of money back then ! I can’t remember what the road tax was for a motorcycle in those days, probably less than £40.
