Did you notice all the dead Japanese Knotweed above the road bridge, that was treated by Fisherman volunteers last year. We also have eradicated Giant Hogweed, you must have been pleased about that. The only stream on the Irwell catchment that does not have any, as far as I know.

The lovely brown sewage fungus waters of the Irwell - I saw a few brown shadows in the back ground floating past.,,, not sure if they were bits or turd or fish

There's no flow on the nearside upstream of all the debris. That suggests the debris isn't blocking anything. As well, the water seems to be flowing freely around the debris, further evidence of a lack of blockage. I'm not saying that the title should relate to the content or that any video should have some point to it. I'm just making an observation.

You need help, maybe a saw and more experience. Anyway, well done.

Top job with these videos mate. Iv always wanted to fly fish but thought there's nowhere to do it round here other than fisheries and for me catching fish that somebody has chucked in a lake isn't the same as being on a wild river. But after seeing your channel iv got set up and been on the irwell once but it was too high and tried the croal once. Not caught anything yet but just being on the river is an escape in itself. Hopefully I get the hang of it and start to catch and can take my lad with me. Any ways cheers for the vids.

Have you got any tips for scouting places around greater Manchester because I can see myself ending up fishing where there isn't any trout 😂

I guess the one concellation about the extreme difficulty of accessing the river through the thick vegetation is that at least you will have the river to yourself, unlike canals post covid19, where it's like getting caught up in the Tour de France as the world and his wife seems to have purchased a bike and headed down there
