Wild timing! I literally tried to learn this song for the first time today 😂
@@JFXPedals Hell yeah! It’s a blast to play. If you haven’t already, definitely check out the “Live in Chorzow” performance of the track for some inspiration, Johnny rips off as always. I really like his take on the solo in that one. Thanks again man.
@@k_a_bizzle Funny that's exactly the reason I wanted to learn the song! I must've listened to that show 3 times this week alone 😅
@@JFXPedals Hey mate, checked out your website and grabbed a Fuzz rite. Can’t wait.

If you’re looking for ideas for new pedals, could really get behind an FM4 style clone which can do just the TAYTV solo filter tone in a smaller footprint/with 9v power supply!
Nice set-up. Looks like you have things dialed. Do you use reverb through the axe fx? I must've missed it.
I like the new idea of making the 5 per month thing. Makes sense to me. If there is a part shortage, you can make more of another pedal. Really love your stuff.
I’ve never used or known much of anything about loopers like this before watching your recent videos. But that bit with Wet sand was super cool. Interesting for sure, maybe I’m too old school but the loopers do confuse me honestly
I'm definitely down for another PLL. Looking forward to the release
It’s sold out, will it be available in the future again ?
Yes, I have more on the way. Should be some available again in October!
I have a lot of John’s vintage stuffe… like the CE1 or the Digitech. I’m thinking about replacing them with pedals you make. Would you mistress thing and the Emphyrian work well together ?
Yes, I use both on my pedalboard. You can bypass the CE-1 preamp in the Empyrean with a toggle because it would be redundant being that it's also in the DME
🖖
Man I feel that bit about Hendrix with amps not working etc at shows and the impact it can have I’ve been practicing for the first open mic I’ve done in almost 6 years, my guitar and everything was working great at home. Get to the gig pull it out of the gig bag. Wouldn’t get in tune, get on stage it’s tuned and mid song goes out of tune, 2 different songs. I was so upset lol
Nikola is great, he’s taught me a ton of tricks and songs I wasn’t sure on. Really cool to hear him talk about all this and get his perspective on things
Sounds cool. Did I hear correctly that the cutoff control on the Lowpass filter sets the heel down frequency of the expression pedal, like on the original?
youre doing the lord work son
someday in stock i am a big of frusciante? ;)
Fwiw, I would strongly consider picking up yr version of the CP-251. I've been *loving* yr version of the MF-103 (it sounds heavenly with the treble pickup on my Rickenbacker) as well as Warm Audio's take on the MF-102; being able to link these two together and get some S/H and modulation mixing would allow me to get real deep with integrating them both not just together but with my Eurorack system. Also, in terms of the question of independent stores who'd be amiable to working with you, I think Empire Guitars and Pittsburgh Guitars, both in Pittsburgh, PA, are two that are local to me that I think might be willing, though I'm not gonna claim to have much sway over them in terms of who they work with
A DS-2 + CE-1 + Holy Grail style multi pedal would be awesome!
would love to start seeing some of your stuff in some more boutique-y guitar stores - obviously very tough because it’s not necessarily reliable or consistent (such as selling to a larger corp like guitar center) but could prove to be very beneficial!
@@wassbot any recommendations in your area?
@@JFXPedals empire guitars in providence would be awesome I think; they carry a lot of vintage stuff and pedals from boss, UA, EHX, etc; your stuff would fit in really well
@@wassbotthanks Mason 😁
Dude is literally building synths in a box in his shed. Wtf am i doing?
It's actually an unfinished basement but a shed would be cool haha
The Jll pedal is super cool. If i can wish for anything it would be an WahFX where you copy the ibanez wh-10. You can probably do this in your sleep but those Wh10's are hard to get ahold of. I sold one of mine and the other got stolen. Makes me so mad, i have no words.
A lot of people have asked me about this but sourcing a suitable enclosure has been a roadblock that I've not tried to overcome. I wouldn't want to make it in a generic crybaby style enclosure and I've assumed it's cost-prohibitive to do something custom. I don't want to make it plastic or 3D printed.
Is that the Bon Iver shed?
Haha they make music in a shed?
Any ballpark idea of when the PLL will be released?
Probably November!
That's so awesome! Best of luck to you, dude! That pedal sounds so sick! Fingers crossed I'll have some free cash by then, I'm definitely going to keep a close eye on it. 😁
Holy CRAP. That PLL sounds insane!!! I'm absolutely getting one when you release it.
Happy to hear that! It is super cool and I'm excited to do something outside of the Frusciante niche!
Hey man dont let it get you down, keep pushing. I am a 20+ year player/tone junkie and you make a quality product. Unfortunately, I found past fx first, but I will eventually get my hands on your modulation/pre amp. As a hyper critical gear nut and having played the empyrean once you have my stamp of approval.
cool Pedals! a JFX Delay (Moog MF-104M) would be really nice!
Would be cool to do more MFs but I think anything with MIDI is beyond my current capabilities!
A buddy of mine has a data corrupter pedal and it kinda sounds like that voidz one. It has a sub harmony and it works as a fuzz. But it does that static sound too
Yes, that one is also a PLL! I've tried it once in a store but it didn't quite sound like what I was hoping for. Still cool though!
@@jfresque I've been debating buying one but that voidz one seems a whole lot cooler.
@@christopherarellano8428 I'm obviously biased but I'd have to agree 😂
These videos are really nice and I love the new pedal! Are you planning to do any more moogerfooger repros?
@@ondrablahos4601 awesome thanks! Thinking about it. Working on laying out the CP-251 on my breadboard currently!
@@JFXPedals that's great! I'd love to see a murf repro someday
I find it a bit odd to start it off with clicks on a song that already starts off with drums
Please tell me what application did you do this in?
Moises and some editing in GarageBand
@@JFXPedals okay, I'll remember BTW, exactly this song is number one in my top 4 songs by Red Hot Chili Peppers

Will there be episode 3 or did I not see it here? Thanks for the Great Video
Good on you for saying what you feel. You don't owe anyone uploads. Your work creating and producing products and content isn't held to anyone's timeline but your own - and it's okay if that varies. I just want to say that I appreciate you uploading all the backing tracks to the albums, and organizing them. I even noticed that the bar or two after the solo in Californication has the guitar part so that the player can let that last note ring out. Cheers for paying attention to the details!
Hey Jordan, I feel you. 100% relatable, and you are not alone. I know we've chatted and yes, I haven't bought a pedal YET, but that's just because life keeps getting in the way and (if I'm right and you're like me) we put our family needs first, not our own. Your content is always welcome and HUGELY VALUED by me. I see an upload and make time that day or next to watch it. What an awesome share of your board. I learned a few things just listening on the first time through. I really appreciate that you make so much space for Josh. I love his songs and especially The Getaway. That record has some incredible songs. Haha and yes I know what sound you mean with the 2nd Boss DigiDelay This upload is fantastic. Get it out, brother. You are not alone.
I failed MIDI class at Full Sail twice so Idk bruh, this is out of my hands. Seems like you should be in Bon Ivers band w/your knowledge
Glad you are doing this. This REALLY resonates w/me. I find it to be the case/ w/alot of the JF fanbase...it's why his sound resonates w/us, imo. If you take unsolicited advice from a nobody, I say don't try to fit into any boxes or algorithms, no need to restrict what you do in any facet. Like you're doing, turn the camera on and share your thoughts. No qualifiers needed. I suspect we (the audience) have alot more in common w/you (the creator) than seems realistic, i believe that is bc of the whole Social media game (that is fake) But if you are genuine, as you seem to be, numbers and the other bullshit doesn't matter, they'll come or not. Which is fine.
Think about it, you are literally creating things. And literally building them...dude, you found your passion and you are doing it, and doing it very well. You're golden bro, don't let the things that don't matter get to much in your head. Marketing and stuff will come. You are grassroots and are getting the word out.
Great video, very interesting. It made me re-evaluate my own board. As for the personal part of the video; respect for being so honest and vulnerable. Following you for a while now and enjoying what you do, I think you are doing a great job for the Frusciante community. I liked the interviews you did with other content creators too. Just do in life what makes you happy and especially the way it makes you happy. 💪🏼
what you say is super relatable, i often have some of the same struggles. just keep going in whatever form is sustainable to you and take care of your mental health...thats the most important i guess. love your channel and the work you do!
