title and describe your videos in such a way that you are invisible to the algorhitm, like statistical noise, lik fremen walking randomly on the cracked earth so as to not alert the sandworm. observe questionable spelling, mask yourself with stalk phrases, become as a ghost to the machine. who was it that convinced you being noticed was your ambition?

This work is why I keep coming back 💯💯💯
thank you! i've been doing a lot of stuff like this lately, cold weather always has me returning to drone
Your harmonies are to die for. Always a compelling listen. Great stuff!
FIRE
Thank you.
This is such a fragile, beautiful piece. Like arriving at an end of something, and there is a door which you know you have to walk through, but you know that everything will change once you do. I love how you use silence here, giving the listener time to meditate on the inevitable. Great picture too! A true Owen Gilbride song.

Feels like too much ketamine
Great track and picture. I also read the description, very interesting approach.
Loving this!
this track has the same bassline as the track from yesterday, sometimes these things happen yah
thought I recognized it
@@patrickmcloughlin2954 i'll often make a half dozen or so recordings with the same loops over the course of a week or so, so that when i go back to make an album months later i'll have all of these thematically linked demo tracks that can be linked together into a single more complex track. basically i view every demo track as just being extended variations on a single part of a complete song (but sometimes i like to preserve the original demos as well, if i want to vibe on the more repetitive/sparse version of something)
It’s crazy cup from smiling friends
plz drop a vinyl for music to play while watching **********
i would love to put that one out on vinyl some day!
LETS GO ANOTHER W DROP BY MY GOAT
Spooky
I took my car in for a smog check today, and was waiting in a nearby cafe for them to finish. Popped my AirPods in and listened to this from start to finish while watching a busy street drenched in sunlight. Very pleasant, unusual experience which reminded me of why I love your music and style so much. Refreshing, techy, slightly alien in nature, and there was something new and exciting at every turn. You definitely honed in your craft, and there is no one else who does what you do. Thank you!
Thank you! I really appreciate you saying that - at this point, you might be one of my longest time listeners (since way back before even the first album came out, and now we're up to album #25). I'm already tossing around some ideas for the next one, not sure when it'll emerge but it definitely will at some point...
@@owengilbride3086I'm excited for it! Your music really cheers me up, and I find it perfect for a sunny day. I'd also be very curious to hear some of your live sets:) What is your setup? Do you do a lot of improvising on the spot, or is it more controlled? I always think about maybe doing some live performances, but my live experience is very limited. I'm terrified of drowning the listeners with sub bass, or having it be too bright and drilling the audience haha I guess if you want to make an omelette... As I'm listening to this again, I can hear it in a Luc Besson movie. Something very stylish and spacey. Like a Fhloston Paradise dance party.
@@tiadiad Glad to hear it :) For my live sets, I guess I've had a variety of approaches: sometimes more DJ style, where I'll be mixing my own tracks live & trying to layer them in new ways, usually not planned out ahead of time (for this I've recently been using a free software called Mixxx which has a lot of cool features like auto bpm/key detect). Sometimes I'll get a bit looser & basically just make a track live from scratch (one time I recall I had a set where I just opened up Buzz and started messing around with gens for like half an hour). And of course during more experimental phases I like to do improvised noise sets using whatever I have handy. When I first started I had a couple of unpleasant surprises hearing tracks for the first time ever on big speakers, but in general I'm usually pretty happy with how a mix comes out sounding in a room (especially now that I work with better headphones!). And funny you mention Luc Besson! I feel like Mœbius was an influence at various points making this album, and probably watching The Fifth Element was my first exposure to his style
I’m making sure my kids know who Owen gilrbide is when their born
THIS THE HARDEST ALBUM OF 2024
I LOVE OWNEN GILBRIDE
thank youu! i played a live set on the weekend w/ some unreleased stuff, will hopefully post it once the organizer sends me a recording
for whatever reason during this particular era i was into making dance tracks with no bassline, which resulted in a lot of stuff that's useful for mixing in live sets but which hasn't (yet) made it onto an album
I think no bass dance music has an effect of drawing the listener closer. Bass can be very decisive sometimes, and tracks like this one feel more breathy in a way. I love this! Btw, I noticed you dropped an entire album recently, can’t wait to check it out when I get the time!
@@tiadiad I was actually having a conversation about this irl the other day! imo bass often (not always) has this function of grounding music, of making it feel more conventionally "musical" or structured. With music that's mostly/all high end i feel like it opens up space for more subtle gradations of sound texture. And yes I did put an album out just a little over a week ago! First one in two years, I feel pretty good about it
A great set to listen to during the workday.
Thank you!
I’m doing the same thing rn 🤯
yo this is pretty good
ty ty i'm playing a live set this weekend, might try to record it and post it here too
This made me go into a mini trance. I was drifting in and out of it throughout the video. Very nice! And beautiful chords.
Non stop bangers
Hardest music video yet
Animated video is cool

Finally making progress on the next album! I've got like two years worth of material to sort through though so it's gonna take a minute. Also hoping to do some proper music videos some day soon...

Always excited to hear your stuff. This one finished off my night. Very nice and deeply original. Feeling inspired!
I wish to jump in this little park by the traintracks and talk again
Yo it’s ZS your discord got nuked along with the server, maybe set up a temporary Twitter acc or something to reach back out so I can link the new place.
Yeah I figured something like that had happened. Gonna be back from the holidays either tomorrow or the next day, will get this sorted then

Bro uploads on the homies birthday too???? 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I remember those days:))) Great stuff! You always had a very unique, recognizable sound. Love it!
Thank you! I'm hoping to re-upload most of my old albums to this channel eventually because a lot of them currently aren't available online. Probably not in order of release, just in order of which ones i remember the most
@@owengilbride3086 I think that's a great idea! You've made some great music over the years and the world deserves to have it on display. There is a conviction in your work which is inspiring. Like you know that what you are making is good, and you believe in it with your whole heart. I've really been enjoying your work, and am a fan🧑🌾

Bro, when I make my own Indie game, you’re hired as OST.
ive wanted to do music + sound fx for a game for ages. it's almost happened a number of times but nothing realized to date!
i still remember recording this one actually. it was in a basement in rural new brunswick in the middle of winter
It’s always a great day when the goat drops 🐐🐐🐐
I love this sound
Got that Beinhockerian groove.
i grabbed the name of this track from a textbook i picked up the last time i was at the bookstore (which i bought entirely based on the title). hoping to get to it once i finish off a couple of the other books i'm working on
threw this one in the recycling bin last night but fished it back out this morning
I'm legit in outta space right now.
