      Did you hear my reasoning at least? The Packers are easily a top 5 roster seeing what they have done this season and last. The Vikings in Week 5 didn't play very good outside of defense.

      For the record, this list is before Week 5 games. Tampa WHACKED the Eagles before this week. Colts haven't really sucked all around, but I get the sentiment so I won't push there. The Jags were 0-4 as of the making of this video. Dolphins with Tua are damn good, right now they are struggling. I think a major problem is you are going into the video with knowledge I didn't have in Week 5 games

      I appreciate the feedback! The Power Rankings are meant to be an overtime gauge of how good the team is and not jumping to overall conclusions. At the end of the day, from where the Vikings and 49ers were last year and what each team has shown this year, their placings are appropriate. Though with the Vikings winning this week, they are certainly showcasing the conversation is getting closer.

    • @StraightAMain

      It's hard to fix the years that Sam Darnold has been viewed as mid with 4 weeks of good performances. So I apologize I didn't jump to conclusions that they are a top 5 team in the NFL. If we are talking about records or how good a team is week-to-week, I 100% agree that they should be top 3. But I just don't rank based on purely week-to-week

      My apologies, I didn’t know there was only 1 way to do power rankings. Would you mind providing the logic and reasoning on how Power Rankings work? I’ve seen it done in many different ways. I figured mine was just fine since I don’t jump to conclusions like many people would. The saints come to mind as a team people placed in the top 10, but they quickly proved they weren’t that.

    So you have Purdy throwing for 4000+, but his top 3 targets combine for <2400. Bro, your math ain't mathing. You keep saying "I don't have the slots". If you don't have the room in your system to put guys where they're supposed to be, then fix the system. Don't just make bad takes, that you know and acknowledge are bad. That was pure nonsense. Honestly, such a valid critique. In the future, I'm going to plan a lot better if I planned on staying within my constraints. Luckily, it probably only affected the Commanders and 49ers with receivers. Everything else is pretty damn close to what I think. I should've bit the bullet and gave Aiyuk realistically 800ish yards, Kittle 900ish, and Deebo over a 1,000. That's a bit more accurate. It is possible that Jennings, Thomas, and Pearsall do get a surprising number of yards, but not enough for that math to work. Seriously appreciate the Criticism, helps me be better!

    Bro, this is some of the most surface level analysis I've seen. Going by roasters on ESPN at this stage of the year when everything is so fluid. I want to emphasize the whole OL "analysis". Yeah no shit they're not going to have the same sacks as last year, the line is totally revamped and we finally have a decent OL coach. Bricillo had a great track record in LV and our line has better pieces than theirs. So I would guess (if everyone stays healthy, something that could but be said about last year) we will be average this year and that will be enough to take this team to a totally new level. 0-3 wins my ass

    • @StraightAMain
      @StraightAMain 2 місяці тому

      While I hear you, you can’t necessarily go by ESPN rosters (as I’ve learned) this team isn’t changing all that much. If you think the additions to the O-Line make that much of an improvement from last year AND help carry the team, I just can’t agree. We haven’t seen this team produce and while there may be promise, it just isn’t enough. If the team had Barkley and moved on from Jones, I would agree with you. The Giants could very well go more than 3, but not by much. I just think 4 teams have the potential to go 3 or less, and I chose the Giants and Panthers

    • @StraightAMain
      @StraightAMain 2 місяці тому

      @@StraightAMain Thanks for constructive conversation. But to continue on the shown roster, I don't think Gray will make it to 53 man roster. He couldn't block at all last year and I think the coaching staff soured on him. The rookie Tracy and UDFA Dante Miller have flashed in training camp and I wouldn't be surprised if they went ahead if Gray. Also, we just signed Van Roten from LV so projected line is Thomas-Runyan-JMA-Van Roten-Eluemunor. That should be average in league so by far the best DJ has ever had

The problem the Dolphins put themselves into by drafting him was that they now have to spend All Their Energy trying to prove us all wrong about him, & he's at his height. & they've failed. He can't elevate. he can't improvise. & they have no one else. So it's not like he's lacking talent. Plenty of QBs would do worse. Just as 3 QB couldn't do anything with JJ & Addison in MIN. So he's a starter, they're not. But he couldn't make it as a _good starter_ on the Titans Raiders or Jets. He's carried by his weapons. What you say about the rest of the positions & depth is true. It reminds me of this excuse made by 'analysts' who were speaking From Theory & not any analysis done. No one has yet explained why Mike McD abandons the run late in games. This excuse I heard for why he abandoned it late in the season was (valid) injuries to the o-line. He couldn't get the blocking he had previously used from them. Does that mean he got _NO_ blocking from them though? Or that he couldn't make _any_ other run schemes work? Without footage showing what the starters could & back-ups couldn't do, this is 100% conjecture. But even if true, it speaks to the lack of depth. If false, it speaks to the lack of depth of Mike McD's play-calling.

    No sense in putting this off any more. 1) When Justin Fields called out hos Own Coaches publicly, we all knew _he_ was not gonna get support from his team. Poles & Eberflus were pretending otherwise & All The Fans went along with this. I can't be the only one who thinks it's suspicious that a GM who thought Fields had Any Chance of making it in the NFL didn't investigate into something about a coach sabotaging said QB when trading him based upon said sabotage could end his career. Or if Eberflus wasn't himself the saboteur, why didn't _he_ look into this? So right then we All Knew Poles & Eberflus weren't even going to _try_ to make things work with Fields. However, this meant they were Intentionally Tanking. & that made people uncomfortable. So everyone but me apparently went into denial over this. Now I'm gonna work backwards. 2) The reason Fields finally called them out was starting week 5 of '22 I think they asked/ordered him to Not Throw to certain receivers on certain plays. I know that everyone watching games knew of this because the Fields haters made up the following justification: "the Bears _HAD TO_ do this in order to simplify the offense because Fields can't read defenses." 3) Brett Kollmann proved otherwise with stats ua-cam.com/video/QuhUbISnr8s/v-deo.html before Fields even took a snap in the NFL but not only would I expect a very low % of NFL fans to know this, let's face it: asking your QB to stop mid-scramble or mid-throw to read a receiver's jersey before throwing the ball is *core complicated* than throwing to anyone in your team colors who is open. So the haters invented a brand new lie to cover for this. Remember, "he can't read defenses" was reiterated to excuse what they _knew and said was_ a coaching decision for Fields' own good, right? They "had to do this" (call for him to not throw to receivers sometimes) to simplify the offense for him, causing him to have to hang onto the ball. So of course the next invented lie was "he hangs onto the ball too long." They _knew_ he had to due to coaches' orders. Whether intentionally or not, they came up with the Perfect Lie. There's no denying he did hang onto the ball when receivers were open starting week 5 of '22. So, so far we have the first two myths about Fields busted. But wait, isn't there MORE we can say about the play-calling? Again, I seem to be the only person who noticed that the Designed QB Rushes weren't the only different plays called weeks 8-10 of that year. So people who were wondering if play-calling & roster were affecting him got their answer. Those weeks _proved_ it! But because this confirmed that Eberflus was working against him, especially when they went Right Back to calling the plays that failed *before* this streak, people wrote this off as a fluke. It's human nature to go into Group Denial. When we hear people saying things we _KNOW_ are wrong, people decide to side with what they know is wrong because the fear is _stronger_ when The Issue Goes Unmentioned. Media didn't ask Fields any follow-up questions when he called out his coaches & they stopped annoying Eberflus with any ever again. Eventually even analysts were talking about Eberflus' charisma. They 100% "forgot" about those weeks of trying to shut reporters up with chop-wave motions of his arm looking like he was threatening he would spank them like an Angry Dad if they didn't shut up. But *I remember **_ALL_** of this.* I'm not done yet but whoo-ee this was long.

    Zac Taylor's play-calling has been called simple, but they had success with Browning because no it isn't. It's different when Burrow is in & the rumor I'm starting to suspect is true is that Burrow is playing with WAY too big a chip on his shoulder & feels a need to prove he Can Play when injured & without a safety net, & subsist on almost All Long Passes. This would make sense of what Chase was saying about it being a better idea to rest Burrow while hurt than play him. The message was aimed *at **_Burrow,_* not Bengals' management? They didn't have to put a gun to Burrow's head to get him on the field. Now that they know Browning can win games, hopefully this never happens again.

      The Raiders have some Really High-End Talent that is gonna make an impact on the NFL followed by a lot of holes in their roster that haven't been filled. They're gonna make a lot of highlight reel plays but probably not win many games. Wilkins & Crosby should make it hard for most QBs to get a good night's sleep the night before though & that isn't hyperbole. Either one is a concern on their own. This itself might make their defense seem way better than it is. You think Bo Nix is ready for that?

To be fair nothing in it says he's the next Peyton Manning. As someone who doesn't need to have a preconceived idea, I say "can't tell yet." Will my comment stay after refreshing? Okay, since it does, I can say something. If not the 49ers, _this_ is the team I expect to take the NFC, not the Lions. Both HCs have problems in how they handle stress during games but Lafleur has gotten better at planning ahead. I heard a Packers fan speculate that they think he's good at the white-board planning, not so much communicating with players. But look how smooth the offense became in the last half of last season? Meanwhile the Lions seem determined to tweak Every Last Aspect Of Individuality Out of players before allowing them to touch the ball. What _IS_ Dan Campbell talking about regarding Jamo for instance? Jamo's highlights are insane. There's no excuse to not use him more yet Campbell is 'Becoming Pleased With His Progress.' _What_ progress? Throw him the _ball!_ Nothing _needs_ changing. So this is the stuff that makes me think the Lions are going to continue to self-destruct in important games, insisting on everything going Their Way to extent that they refuse to work with what they have.

The #2 depends on whether you consider that T-Law has had receivers to work with & if that's a factor. Yeah, this division can be a riot. If healthy I give the edge to the Colts. AR5 simply has too high a ceiling to think they won't win it if he's not injured. If he is, well, the Colts could have gotten Justin Fields for a lot less than what Flacco cost & didn't. That's no one's fault but theirs. Same with the Giants.

      I have seen the chart before, and I am aware of his past performances. He has thrown for 4,100 for the last 2 seasons and is capable of throwing 400 more yards in a given season. Granted, the passing TDs are generous, but that's the great thing about predictions, they are my educated guesses. If you don't think he's going to do it, great, but it's definitely possibly. @@StraightAMain Well, my take on the whole of what happened in CHI is one I know most people will hate, but I have reason for it. Remember the whole Mac Jones fiasco? Imagine if Bellichick had responded to finding out Jones was seeking advice outside of the Pats With Silence. We'd all know Jones' days were numbered, right? Fields *publicly called out his Own **_Coaches_** after week 7 in '22.* Know how they responded? with Dead Silence. So they were telling us as early as mid-'22 that they had already made up their minds to move on from Fields. They didn't even reprimand him? The HC wasn't the Least Bit Curious that one of his coaches was potentially responsible for messing up communications with the QB he is supposedly being tasked to win with, that his job supposedly depends upon working with? The owner didn't care that either his QB or coaches were throwing away his $? The GM whose entire career could be haunted by making the mistake of trading him didn't care at all that a mere coach he could have fired was setting his career up for failure? That implies they had made up their minds *from the beginning* to move on from Fields. One of those people was his Main Play-caller. We know this because 1) Eberflus boasted about deciding what plays to limit the offense to, 2) always talked about what He Thought Fields needed to change, 3) tried to shut up reporters for weeks with chop-wave motions of his hand like a Dad threatening to strike his own children when they kept asking him about those bizarre plays where Fields would stop himself throwing to wide-open receivers. Right from the beginning, even Fields' haters knew this was a coaching call. They said "The Bears _had to do this_ in order to simplify the offense for him." You know, because Fields can't read defenses. Everybody knows _that,_ right? ua-cam.com/video/QuhUbISnr8s/v-deo.html. Oops. That's Brett Kollmann for you, doing the research no one else wants to. He traced the source of this to find out it was ever 100% BS _AND_ dug out the stats *proving it* was. So now there Is No Need to simplify the offense for Fields ergo no defense of those play-calls. However, there is a psychology at work here that I'm up against. Fans are more franchise than player-loyal. As soon as it was clear they wanted to move on from Fields, the fans all silently sided with The Team. Media too. Eberflus was acting like total nut-job, looking like he was Ready To Spank _reporters!_ Media dropped this. By the time Fields finally called them out about this it was already too late. Eberflus didn't understand this & sort of panicked. You know how when Gannon & Steichen left Philly, no other coach *could* come in & ask the players how to do what worked last season, just called the plays they knew instead? The Bears were using play-sets that were 70%+ different from weeks 8=-10 of '22 then again in week 11, & 14-17 of '23. So if the ones undermining Fields were largely Eberflus' the ones used those weeks were Getsy's. & with them, Fields led the entire NFL in offense 3 weeks straight (& scored more points than usual in the '23 games) proving it _was_ the play-calling holding him back all along. & everyone dismissed this as a fluke. So yeah. There's all that & more. & this is still about half the _overt_ stuff. Yeah, you'd have to dig to find these things but Fields did call them out publicly, Eberflus did act that way in front of reporters, the entire team greeted Fields' concern with Dead Silence. All of that indicates _something_ wasn't right between them.

    2nd video of yours I'm watching. I'm analytical, so don't wait for praise 🤭. I'm not sure why you think guessing how many yards, TDs etc. anyone is gonna have. In '22 Justin Fields threw for all of Five Fewer TDs than Jalen Hurts. One had the best o-line in the NFL & a top-3 WR duo. The other had Chase Claypool, a #1 WR famous for dropping passes that hit him in the hands & o-linesmen that actively ducked away from blocks. Absolutely _NO_ NFL fans or analysts seem to be capable of realizing that this makes Fields a _WAY_ better QB that would be putting up way more TDs if their positions were reversed. Like this guessing game of how many sacks etc. that being on a roster gains one has No Context or even real meaning. Is someone gonna come back & hold you accountable if you're of by any amount? The only context that matters is how they stack up against their opponents. My humble suggestion is that you look to find more such comparisons & not bother with the guessing. Derek Carr can throw as many TDs as C.. Stroud but I'll bet ya more of Stroud's will be ones that come from behind whereas Carr is much better when he doesn't have to.

      I'm sorry but I really can't understand the point of your comment, feel free to help clarify anything after I respond! I am going off a bell curve of the starters stats in the past 4 years, and I'm placing players and positions in each of those positions because the bell curve is a great analytical estimate of where players can place. The only downside is injuries are impossible to predict, so it does sway the results lower as a result. As for the rest of your analysis, I am writing my predictions down and comparing them after the season is done. If viewers wish to come back and say how well or poorly I did, great! But I want to know if there are better ways of doing this. It's for entertainment, just like anyone else's prediction videos. I do these for fun and to improve myself. I hope others find enjoyment, but it's okay if you don't, that's the great part about UA-cam! Hopefully I can grow and have more time to improve quality, but at the end of the day, I am a guy on the internet making videos for fun and predicting players with at least some level of analytical logic behind it. Now as for the prediction per game, I'll be doing that this upcoming season as well. Now, comparing Carr and Stroud is probably the craziest thing I've personally seen in a minute. So I'm not sure where your analytical mind set is coming from there. But I do greatly appreciate you opinion and feedback!

      @@StraightAMain My writing style doesn't help. Concise isn't my strong suit. Imagine yourself as someone visiting this channel. You think you found an assessment of how teams rank, then the narrator goes on about how many yards, sacks etc. they think players will get. Team sack leaders can get 9 on winning or losing teams, only one is easier. By itself, it doesn't help assess the team much as a whole. A ranking # or letter grade helps place players, teams, & 'rooms' into a context. Montez Sweat led two losing teams in sacks in one year. That makes _him_ great, not the team. It's okay to use your system _to_ place them but as listeners, VERY few people will use something like how many yards a QB passed for in any context other than trying to say they didn't _completely_ suck. If they get 30+ TDs, no one's going to count their yards It just doesn't seem to accomplish the purpose intended.

      @@StraightAMain The Carr & Stroud analysis is crazy on purpose. Carr has put up decent numbers in the past. But his rep for not coming through in the clutch is apt. Stroud on the other hand makes opposing DCs nervous. That's kind of The Point. Even if Carr put up his Best Numbers & they were in the same tier as Stroud's we'd all still know he will fail in the crunch. He has _earned_ that reputation. I'm not one to say 'once a failure always so' but even past season where he Took Control on the field & shouted at the receivers & straightened out the offense so that their last 3 games the offense clicked: why'd he wait All Season to do that? He did this So Late they were already out of the playoff picture when the effect kicked in. So saying "he'll have as many yards & TDs as Stroud" wouldn't mean he'd be as successful. His would mostly come in games they were already ahead in. That's why I don't think taking time to list how many of anything anyone might get actually helps the way you think it does.
