Before the STEVECO trial, there were no randomized controlled trial data in the chronic disease space; in its wake, has come a more robust landscape to establish an evidence base: During the 2024 Charing Cross (CX) International Symposium (April 23-25, London, UK), Stephen Black (Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College London, London, UK), Efthymios Avgerinos (Athens Medical Center and University of Athens, Greece), and Erin Murphy (Atrium Health’s Sanger Heart and Vascular Institute, Charlotte, USA) sat down with Houman Jalaie (University Hospital RWTH, Aachen, Germany), to discuss the STEVECO trial and how it provides necessary data on venous stenting for patients affected by chronic venous insufficiency.

Before accepting IVC filter (+blood thinner) I asked my doctor can it be removed? He said simply YES, . Afterwards they told me emphatically it's in me for life. THE SURGEON LIED TO ME & I'm PISSED.

Really informative video & I loved it but it would have been helpful to have a visual diagram/picture of the blood flow. I appreciate all your explanation regarding this rare disease of nutcracker syndrome. 💕

You’ll never get the correct treatment from the UK NHS for venous leg ulcers. All they do is treat the symptom with compression therapy, spending 5 billion pounds per year on wound clinics. If you want the underlying cause treated you’ll have to pay privately. I have been through all of this and since paying for the correct treatments in 2018 after losing 7 years of my life relying on the NHS I haven’t looked back since and was the best money I ever spent. These three haven’t a fking clue.

There are now some fantastic procedures out there that can cure or hugely improve venous insufficiency, the obvious cause for leg ulcers. Unfortunately, in the UK, patients aren’t being referred for Duplex Scanning and instead the NHS would rather spend 2 to 3 billion per year running these clinics. It’s an absolute travesty. Incidentally, the NHS do not employ Phlebologists (not to be mistaken for Phlebotomist) who are vein scientists working on small veins every day. Vascular Surgeons are incapable of this.
