    I noticed you dont run vorinclex and doubling season for both token multiplier and exp counter multiplier. Also Ojer Taq for a token tripler. Any thoughts on these cards?

    • @UncommonRamen
      @UncommonRamen 4 дні тому

      @wazu563 main thing is the vorinclex is $50 ojer tak is $25 and doubling is $40, i don't have extra copies laying around. Other considerations are that both creatures are 6 mana and not immune to removal so often times you spend an entire turn playing them in hopes they live long enough to take advantage of them and they usually don't. Doubling season often times is the same problem. Honestly I haven't found myself in a position where I needed that kind of growth either, swinging with 5 spawns is still 5 annihilator triggers and still pretty huge.

    If you're looking for any suggestions, I don't see a reason not to play Trenzalore Clocktower over a basic island. It enters untapped and taps for blue, and since you're running two Time Lords the second ability has some relevance. Looks like a super fun deck!

  • @tailanau
    @tailanau 10 днів тому

    Hi, I agree with your analysis of the underlying problem/weaknesses with playing tribal werewolves. However, it should be noted that the new werewolf mechanic is more different than the old werewolf mechanic (not just a keyword difference). 1. New Werewolf transformation is synchronised and strictly governed by the day/night mechanic. cards that forces transformation on double faced cards do not work on new werewolves unless the card changes the day/night cycle. Old werewolves can be 'force-changed' by cards like moon mist and possibly become out-of-sync with other werewolves. 2. Daybound/Nightbound mechanic is superior then old werewolf mechanic. opponents casting instances on your turn can affect old werewolf transformation. New werewolves are not affected by this. 3. New werewolves can enter the battlefield already transformed if its night.

    Maybe a bit late but Warstorm Surge wont trigger. Slimes enters as 0/0 and then gets the counters. Same Garruks uprising will not give you a card

    • @UncommonRamen
      @UncommonRamen 10 днів тому

      Haha, Yeah, so I already had this conversation on another platform so I am just going to copy and paste the response. Go ahead and recheck the ruling on that one "Warstorm Surge causes the creature that enters to deal damage equal to it's power when the ability resolves. That means that it cares about it's power as it resolves, rather than as it enters." It actually would work, its just an odd rule. Warstorm trigger cannot interrupt the stack it has to wait for the +1/+1 counters to be applied and the spell to be fully resolved before the trigger happens. Hope this helps!

    i think the nice thing about energy deck is that energy is a reservoir that is difficult to interact with, so your energy matters cards will always have resources to sink if your commander is gone. trick is finding enough payoffs

    Next question... Let's say your opponent has a global enchantment, "All Creatures you control get +1/+1". Just the global text, not an ability that requires the Enchantment to Tap to get the ability. If you have a card that allows you to "Tap target permanent"... and you use it on your opponent's global enchantment listed previously, does that mean that once it is tapped, it's global ability (ie the +1/+1) is suspended until it is untapped on their turn?

    • @UncommonRamen
      @UncommonRamen 13 днів тому

      No, tapping that enchantment will not suspend the ability, the ability is a static ability that will remain active as long as the enchantment is on the battlefield. There is a very old class of Artifact that functions this way called Mono Artifacts, these have not been printed in decades.

      @Siegfrido 28 днів тому

      I'm currently playing a Tovolar commander deck on some local small tournament league in my city... It's a bit of a drag when you play stuff like shared animosity that gives you +1 to attacking creatures for each other creature that shares a type with it... but most of the other stuff you can just use some dices to add up and not lose count of everything as long as you explain that to your opponents... tracking the day night cycle is not that bad when you know everyone is going to cast at least once in their turn and in your turn it will always be night once you got a board going... Once you got a nice board quickly it does not matter at all if it's not night on other player's turn...

    WOW what a great deck list! LOVING THE FLAVOR and overall theme the person was trying to convey here. Keeping the Heart of Doctor Who in Magic! I would certainly cut The Pandorica; Seems like it is a slow removal with not much payoff. My understanding of Jhiora is probably for cards that have a high suspend counter. Such as maybe Deep Sea Kraken. instead of 2(U) for Kraken you can just save your (U) and pay the two for Jhiora while also reducing the cost down to 4 Suspend instead of 9 Suspend. Faster for Kraken to come down in a cycle, also helps to pay 2 Mana for other cards like Dinosaurs on a spaceship or Juddon Enforcers. Pay 2 from Jhiora and net anything that wasn't used. But have to keep in mind that these cards have to be in your hand lol. So there is a reason for her to be in the deck. Many avenues to play this deck that is relying on foretelling your opponents what is coming next or 3 turns or even sooner ;) Surprises galore!

      @UncommonRamen Місяць тому

      When you talk about creature theft cards, I assume you are referencing Zealous Conscripts. The conscripts have a tremendous amount of value in this deck when you consider a few interactions. The first interaction is probably the most common and that is that it steals problematic blockers from your opponents, even if you don't get to attack with them. The second interaction is with Port Razer who grants extra combats, this would allow for the creatures that you steal to be able to attack on subsequent combats. The 3rd interaction would be with Industrial Advancement which you can prioritize to have its trigger happen first and sacrifice the creature you've stolen from your opponent. Lastly you can use the cast of zealous conscripts to steal a creature with a good etb or ltb and use that creature to saddle Calamity. So it has a lot of value here.

    Nice deck, but where is the recursion with it? I have also a very similar Markov deck but I feel like it's very slow to set up and when you got a boardwipe it's very difficult to rebuild fast enough. I only have enlightened and diabolic intent as tutors, also running insatiable avarice (I feel like this card is too mana expensive) but I don't feel like I'm going in the right direction. Also, Pawn of Ulamog and Scion of Opulence only works with non tokens and I've found that I usually rely on saccing the tokens rather than my other vampires.

    • @TheDylls
      @TheDylls Місяць тому

      This has been my main for awhile. In my own experience, if you're really trying to win as often as possible, the absolute best thing you can do is reduce the casting cost of your vampires. A 5+ mana vampire isn't often as valuable as a few 1 and 2 drops in this deck. That being said, I just love playing vampires so I play a bunch of "suboptimal" cards in my deck 😅❤

    • @UncommonRamen
      @UncommonRamen Місяць тому

      I don't run recursion in any effective manor here because in the time that I've played it I've never found it to be necessary. The deck is aggressive and truthfully it's set up to punish the idea of board wipes.

    • @UncommonRamen
      @UncommonRamen Місяць тому

      this is actually the second version of this deck that I built. I purposely built it down because I don't like to play decks that feel "too powerful" this was what I considered to be the more fair version of the deck which is why I run less optimal higher cmc cards in it.

    • @UncommonRamen
      @UncommonRamen 2 місяці тому

      @vlmoua honestly it's pretty clunky, while it does have quite a bit of interaction you spend a good chunk of time trying to set up and win condition that doesn't involve dealing 40 damage, meanwhile your resources get stretched thinner and thinner.

      The original idea behind my build here was to avoid a deck whose win con was built around attacking in and to create something that felt like it was "bullying" my opponents. I can definitely say that your build sounds very unique and I certainly haven't quite heard of a build like it though!

      @jamarclayton4155 think of them like an insurance plan. If there is a single person in the pod whose become arch nemesis because they are so far ahead you give them one of these creatures and it helps the rest of the table catch up. The opponents you help will have less incentive to attack you because you helped them.

      @@jamarclayton4155 your missing the point of Beamtown bullies. You hurt everyone and help everyone at the same time. If u help 1 player its at the cost of another, no one wants to hinder or help the other players when they go against beamtown. If you haven't noticed the point of the commander is to troll your opponents and control the game.
