How to go from YELLOW hair to GREY hair (fail?)
Toning my hair with a mix of Wella Color Charm 050 additive and 20 volume developer and showing my results.
(Not a professional)
If you have lighter or darker hair you might achieve a different result, time may also affect the result.

Quick tip with wella toners. If you don’t like the outcome just wash hair w either dandruff shampoo. Regular or the stronger stuff. Or really any shampoo WITH sulfates. It washes out in like 1-3 shampoos.
If you wanted grey I would of colored it with chrome or titanium and if it still had orange or yellow then I would of toned it with 050 oooor bleach until your a level 9 or 10 but this would take a week or so so you can repair your hair in between bleaching takes patience 🤷🏼♀️ oh and adding conditioner will stop the color from working like it should I would make sure hair is completely clean of anything maybe a few days of not washing it too and measuring is always key too🙂
I know this video is older but for anyone who comes along later like me... if it's 1:2 parts color/ developer and you're using the whole bottle, you can fill the bottle twice with developer and mix it with the color instead of needing to calculate and measure out how many ounces of developer you need.
I think you look fantastic with how it turned out. I think you look like a natural sandy brown brunette!!!!
Dude I can't believe you did this in two steps?!!!! 1-2-Done..Ima try it...wish me luck! xo
Toner is suppose to go on damp hair 😢
Your hair was too orange, purple cancels out the orange & makes brown
bro just turned her hair straight up brown😂😂😂😂😂
starting: bleached to golden-orange hair. Treatment: 1.4 oz whole bottle of 050 + 3.6 oz wella 20 vol developer. Surprise: 6 tablespoons of conditioner -- which i think will lower to the developer volume ?? 10 mins to apply, then 20 mins processing. Interesting multi-tonal dark blonde result.
did you only use 050 or another number?
Your hair is too cool. I also love the Tech house in the background. Btw, what's the track ID for the song playing after 4:44 ?
Fail
Yellow blonde hair look good
6 minutes of unnecessaryness😑
Btw that’s orange
Follow the instructions on the packaging
Conditioner is a big no no with toner
Soooo whoever you were talking to couldn’t help you separate your hair lol sheesh that took forever lol
It turned out great!
lol a mask? byself? in own home? hair looks great :)
que bonito te quedo amiga a si melvoy aser gracias por el tip 😉👍🏼🤗
Hey, your "toner" is actually chemically like a color. You can't add conditioner. With conditioner you stop the prozess of thw color developing.
Great video ty for sharing!
Did you use T14?
You would’ve needed to bleach your hair to at least a level 10.
You don't haveto worry about there being dark hair in the place where you'll place the toner , because the toner will not lift the dark hair.
it will definitely lift
@@chrissychaos69 yeah developer more than 10 vol will lift by itself. Bleach with developer just makes it lift more.
What toner did you use??
It looks green. I did this same process, same timer and exact same hair color and my shit is tinged green, lol. You're cute so you can clearly rock ANY color, but it definitely has a dark green tone.
That’s why it’s an additive, if used in this way and not added to other products you’ll get undesirable tones!
adjust you're screen cause it doesn't look green at all
@@artsyfartsystuff4277 Nope, definitely green 🍏
Definitely has a green tint to it
Doesn't look green to me either
It's dark but looks cute and deff a success for the color you lifted it from. :) You would of probs had to bleach again to get it lighter
You should dye the other half too, the gray part looks amazing
did you use any toner or other dye on the blonde part before this video? or is that just the brassiness from the bleach w no toner ?
It was just brassiness from bleaching my hair, I have thick black hair and that was my first bleaching session and wanted to take breaks in between each session.. but didn’t want it yellow.
Did the dark hair end up fading? How much did it fade?
It did fade out back into a beige, it’s recommended to tone every 4months to keep the same tone. Hope this answered your question and helped :)
@@jocelynscreations1374 thanks!!
@@jocelynscreations1374 Good to know! Thanks for the info, I was curious too.
With a 10 volume she could have put on the black and it would have not done anything. 10 is deposit only. Her adding the conditioner made her 20 an 10
Did you wet your hair before toning?
I applied it to dry hair
@@jocelynscreations1374 toner should be applied to wet hair!
apply it to wet hair!
You have convinced me to use this. It looks good! 😍 did it turn grey after awhile?
I’m glad it helped!!! I left it on for 30mins but if your hair is lighter 15mins should be enough
If your going to do this get t14 if your hair is yellow then us the 050 like put it together but you only put like 1-4 cap fulls of 050 and it will look really good that what I did
@@shaynajohnson3958 did it give u a silver or grey color? Askin
Beautiful!
Thanks!!!
