Hi Akeem. I just learned about this program. I have a Bachelors in Health Services Mgt and a Masters in Healthcare Administration. Did Hopkins allow for online courses and in person clinicals for this program ? Thanks
Does college credits expire? I'm asking this, because I have Bachelor Degree in Biological Sciences, with 3.4 GPA. I graduated long time ago. I'd to switch careers and enroll in a nursing program. I have 144 credits, but I don't know if I can still use some of them, like anatomy, physiology, chemistry and so on. Do you think I can apply to a MSN entry into nursing program and be accepted? Thank you.
Hey, I'm Alen. I've just graduated from Aga Khan University with a BScN degree and am currently working as an intern in a hospital. How many years of experience are needed for admission to a Master's in Science in Nursing program?
Hi Alen, I have no come across any specific needed years of experience prior to the program. Many students enroll directly after their BSN program I hope this helps
Also, what to expect from video questions and how important is volunteering? I did some back in my country but not so much here working full time and going to school 😢
Volunteering, in general, shows your commitment and community dedication to your profession/career. Although not required, highly recommended
Hey! I have no issue getting recommendations from work however I'm from abroad and only took prerequisites here. Most of them were online. The ones that were in-person I already asked and its been almost a week with no response. Any tips? Should I go in person? Should I ask again?

I entered August 2021 and graduated May 2023, approximately 21 months duration. Within those 21 months you have various breaks
Hey thank you so much for the info! I’m a little concerned about the prereqs, on the website it says we need a B- or better for each of the prereqs. I have a Bs and As for all the prereqs listed except for 1, in statistics I earned a C. Am I disqualified because of this?
Good question! A B- is on the lower end of a B. According to our current grading system, a B is still considered passing and eligible. The best advice would be to give our admissions a call to help guide you! I hope this helps
What's the latest update??
@AkeemP Does the MSN entry program at Hopkins allow you to dual degree into the Masters of Public health? Because I know they have an MSN/MPH dual program, but I am not sure if they let people from the entry program into the dual role.
At the time when I entered, I didn’t know of a MSN/MPH dial program but doesn’t mean it isn’t out there. I’d recommend talking to admissions regarding availability of that particular track
As I’m BSN with 5 years of experience in nursing field, can I get entry into MSN program in APRN? I’m really interested to get CCRN degree. Could you please reply back?
This program is for those who aren’t nurses and have a degree in another non-nursing field. For you, I would recommend the DNP programs. I hope this helps

@@akeemp113 Do you think Johns Hopkins Nursing program is worth it? I live near a university that also has a nursing program and would be beneficial in terms of distance. However, I’m not sure if I should apply at Hopkins due to the quality of education. Why did you apply to Hopkins?
@@akeemp113 Also, would I need to take the HESI in order to apply?
@@julissa6715 it’s important to know what you want to get out of your education. You have to weigh the pros and cons form both schools. I suggest going old fashion and writing a pro/con list. It wouldn’t be effective for me to add my opinion as to if attending Hopkins would be worth it or not. Especially since everyone’s experience will be different 👍🏽

Acceptances came through email and a package eventually through USPS
Hey Akeem. What is the actual class schedule like the first semester? Are there any days you’re not at school? Can some of the classes be done online. I’m coming from NYC and want to know if I can come home weekends.
The class schedule for the first semester is very compact with at least two labs and clinical (one day a week). For my cohort, the only day we were not in school were Fridays. They try their best to leave Fridays open but can obviously change. For the first semester, expect classes to be in-person with more flexibility for you to chose starting semester 2. With your interest of traveling to and from NYC, at least for your first semester, can be very challenging.
@@akeemp113 Thank you! What is the total cost for JUST TUITION for the entire program? I am having trouble assessing those numbers... its a total of 72 credits but that comes to about 130K. Is it lower than that?
@@Josephp1983 $65,088 (full-time per year) is what is listed on the website
@@akeemp113 correct. But what I’m confused by is that is based off of sept-august. That’s 3 semesters. Then you still have two more semesters. So it winds up being around 108k total?
