Building our dream garage: Roof Sheathing
Переглядів 4,3 тис.3 роки тому
In this video we sheath the garage roof. The sheathing is 5/8". For underlayment we used 30 weight felt paper along with Ice and Water Shield around the edges. We installed Simpson Strong Tie H-Clips between the sheets as per our local building codes. The nailing pattern we followed is also what is required by our local building codes.
Building our dream garage: Hanging Trusses
Переглядів 8 тис.3 роки тому
In this video you'll see the footage from days 5-7 of our build process where we hung the engineered scissor trusses, framed and sheathed the gable ends, installed the overhangs and put up house wrap. Big thanks to our friends and family members who were there to help: Chuck, Cathy, David, Clinton, Paul, Tim and Dan. We couldn't have hung all those trusses in one afternoon without your help!

Land Pride LR1660 York Rake on a Kubota B2920
Переглядів 3,6 тис.4 роки тому
We cleared nearly 3 acres of land, 75 trees and a ton of rocks...but, we still had a long ways to go before we could throw grass seed down. The york rake & grapple combo on our tractor worked really well for this. Stacking Rocks - Building a Rock Wall
Переглядів 1,6 тис.4 роки тому
In this video we use rocks from around our property to build a stone wall along our driveway entrance. Our tractor is the Kubota B2920 and for this project we used both the bucket and our Land Pride Grapple(and, of course, our muscles, too!). Thanks for watching; let us know what you think in the comments below!
Making quick attach pallet forks | DIY
Переглядів 24 тис.4 роки тому
In this video we use a quick attach plate to mount pallet forks for our Kubota B2920. We have a bigger project in the works that prompted the need for and immediate use of these forks. We plan to complete them with a way to keep the forks from swinging freely away from the plate when in use. Stay tuned for an update video later on!
Building a Retaining Wall With Rocks
Переглядів 2,2 тис.4 роки тому
In this video we are building a retaining wall using rocks and boulders from around our property. Our tractor is a Kubota B2920 and we're using a Land Pride Grapple (Watch our last video to see how we modified and strengthened the grapple teeth to be better equipped for handling heavy rocks).
Modifying and Reinforcing a Land Pride Grapple
Переглядів 26 тис.4 роки тому
In this video we repair and reinforce the bottom teeth of our Land Pride grapple. We used the grapple on our Kubota B2920 to move many large boulders that proved tougher than the AR400 steel that the teeth are made of. We designed the gussets using Fusion 360 and cut them out of 1/4in mild steel on our 4x4 Wright CNC Plasma table. A slight bend was added to the gussets using our Swag Off-Road F...

Excellent craftsmanship!! Great job. Thank you for posting.
Never buy junk....
I was wondering about putting the OSB around the window openings. The way you did it saves time. Drill a hole big enough for a saw blade and cut through it.
I just purchased the same Grapple as well. I can see they're not built very robust. Nervous about my poor judgement wish I'd seen this before purchasing. Gotta be better choices out there somewhere. Wish EA hadn't gone out of business. Thanks for showing us what we'll need to do in the future! 👏👍
Funny that this came up in my feed, I just came inside to eat a bite and go back out and finish welding on my grapple. Landpride only welds one side of those teeth and the welds break and the teeth fold over...and the factory welds are not that great in terms of quality.
Only thing I'd point out is, when nailing your 2nd top plate, nail over the studs. This way, if you need to drill through later for electrical or anything else, you're not hitting nails in between studs.
Guess you don’t have a torch
How much it cost for that
OHHHHH I cannot wait to get mine!!!! I love that you have the whole family helping
Nice job keep up the good work ...... Greetings from the Netherlands 👍💪
Hi from France, thanks for sharing . It's very interesting because it's can be my project in the next few months. Please, don't forget to activate the subtitle, it's not on the video #2 and #5. Your five videos make my evenning ! Thank you very much again for sharing. Fred.
So glad you enjoyed it!
Watched your whole build series. You guy's work really well together. 👍
Thank you! We had a lot of fun with it! Still hoping to put together the rest of the footage for a final video!
Can you list the electrical requirements for the table, plasma and compressor?
Thats great, but how much do they weigh in comparison?
Did you leave 1/8" between the osb?
Good jobs guy!! Brooke you’re a beast💪🏼💪🏼
What would possess a person to think they could pull a full sized tree trunk out of the ground with nothing but a small tiny sub compact tractor using a grapple that is made to pick up things that are not attached to 100 foot deep tap roots 2 foot wide?
I used a little come along and hooded to the end of the grapple and pulled them in place
Enjoyed the assembly thank you.
Awesome design. Thx for sharing
It looks like your using 2X6 for framing
I just got the same grapple….I’ll probably do that to mine before I start working with it ! Nice vid!
Me too, now I wish I'd purchased something heavier duty.
So what’s been happening in your world with the table…? Hope it’s working out for you - I just got my XR the other day.
All wood that touches cement should be treated, is that not right?
Stupid music
Very cool. I just got a Kioti 60” ar400 and I need to do something similar.
Professional job
Awesome video.. I just got my Crossfire Pro and it’s awesome. Can’t wait to make some money and buy the XR down the road.
is the everlast 50s still working good with crossfire
When we upgraded our table to the XR we also upgraded to a Hypertherm. We didn’t have issues with the Everlast but had always wanted to get a hypertherm for the long run.
Do you need a torque wrench for this or will I be fine with a regular wrench
There were a few torque specs called out in the assembly instructions but you could probably get away without it.
@@PalsProjects thanks for the reply I'm getting mine in april and can't wait till it arrives
How long did it take to get this from the time you ordered it?
We pre-ordered it in the first batch so it took a few months to receive it.
How have these held up? Anything thing you’d do differently? I’m about to start my own build using your design. Thanks for the video.
These have held up great and worked well for us! The only thing we would add is a way to tie them down so if you roll forward they don’t swing out. But that hasn’t been an issue, just the only thing I can see adding to them. 👍🏼
The fact you have to caulk the water table might be the only thing keeping me from buying one of these.
This set up has been incredible. If that’s the only thing deterring you, I would highly encourage you to reconsider. 👍🏼
Have you seen any that aren’t multiple pieces? (At least, where the machine isn’t a fully-welded design that needs most of a truck anyway.)
@@hornbaker lincoln electric make one. It's large.. but I think it costs 75,000 bucks
@@johnw4590 Exactly. There are tables with one-piece water trays, but they're in a much more expensive category and ship fully assembled.
@@hornbaker I'm very grateful Laungmire produces these tables at an affordable price.
Why did you weld the fork pins in place?! Weld collar bushing on one end of pin and thru bolt collar on other. Make folks removable. Then add in a 2” receiver tube in center of plate ssqa plate for additional function as a trailer mover.
What's the purpose of the "Sterling Cool" stuff?
Prevents the water table slats and any materials you’re cutting from rusting.
@@PalsProjects Thanks much.
Did Langmuir provide the sterling cool or was that something you purchased separately?
Nice work! When I put my gantry on the rails and pushed it all the way back, the left limit switch hit the end about 3/4” before the right limit switch, so it seems like the gantry is not square. The table frame is square, and rail measurements are all right. Anybody have an idea what could be wrong?
if the table isnt square then the gantry is off or the placwment of the limit switches is incorrect. my cnc machine once got off balanced for some reason (lack of cleaning probably) so i had to readjust it
2x6 walls, thats a real decent build not another 2x4 👏👏
Just a tip if I may..notice when you push the nailer down then pull the trigger it sets the nail but when you hold the trigger and then slam the nailer down you need to set the nails with a hammer afterwards.
I hope they finished this project. I don't see any more videos.
More to come! 👍🏼
looked at land pride , looked to be built cheap so I bought an everything attachments wicked grapple , built like a tank
Weight comparison?
@@michaelvoorhees5978 not sure what the land pride weighed , but the EA 55" Wicked Root Rake Grapple Ultra Light 239 pound weight. Upper and lower Wicked Tines are laser cut for precision. Strong 1/4" AR450 steel tines are serrated for gripping and ripping. AR450 Steel and DOM tubing is incredibly strong, rigid and durable. 9" tine spacing. 51” wide lid opens up to a full 36”. 2” bore x 5” stroke cylinders for extreme gripping power! Greasable lid hinges and cylinder pins for longevity. , there is a few videos where he looks to be trying to break it , I know a few people with land prides and they all bent something in the first couple of weeks of use , Ive torturered mine and it has held up very well. I feel I made the right decision
@@woodworkingwithdjleblanc6380 yeah I have to have one now so I'm gonna have to get the land pride. My cousin has one and it's tough he said.
How do you like the Sterling cool so far? Where did you buy from?
What are your plans for managing water/coolant? Are you going to keep it in the tray or move to a separate water storage tank?
Set it and forget it. Keeping it in the tray.
@@PalsProjects What's your strategy on cleaning out the table?
@@imkindofabigdeal4308 I would guess a wet/dry shop vac with filter removed
Good. stuff man! on my build list ... cool to see how you did it!
Nice!!! Where did you get your attachment plate
Believe it or not, Amazon!
@@PalsProjects what was the thickness
@@stevebillow395 1/4” I believe.
Keep us posted on how it works and any issues. You might think about moving that electrical box at the end of the table!
We plan to out out another video soon now that we’ve been able to use it!
That's a lot of hard work! You two did a wonderful job on the wall. It's great that you've gone back and added the recent clip of it. The grass really finishes it off! You guys should be proud.
Thanks for watching! We never could have known the enjoyment of building rock walls without having done it ourselves!
Will a prime weld cut 60 work? Does it come with the torch? Looks nice!
We’re not familiar with that machine, we’re running a hypertherm 45xp and the tables are sold with the option of adding on a Razorweld Plasma table.
Order 2893x. 28812 was shipped so we're getting close!
teamwork makes the dream work.
