I purchased a new Lad Samara saloon in 1996, a few days into ownership it developed an engine oil leak ,it had only covered about 20 miles, I decided to have an RAC inspection carried out , the car had rust in 7 places, most likely from sitting in a field with loads of other unsold Ladas, RAC also found a another leak of oil , all four tyres were found to be defective and unsafe other faults were found , the car spent 4 days in the body shop, and 3 days in the work shop , I was given a hired Hyundai Accent for a week , suffice to say I wanted to keep the Hyundai in about 1999 with 10000 miles and a full service history I was only offered £750 in part exchange because Lada decided to stop supplying new Ladas to the UK .
