I recently found this video. I'm an INI fan (fandom name: MINI). Thank you for your reaction. INI is a group of 11 people (10 Japanese and 1 Chinese) formed by viewer vote in Produce101japan season 2. Before the audition, the members had all different careers, including two professional dancers, one salesman, one trainee at a Korean entertainment agency, one street musician, five university students, and one high school student. INI has tried various genres of music, just like the members' diverse careers. Their latest MV "LOUD" and "Walkie Talkie" are great, but you can see a completely different side of them in their previously released "HANA" and "HERO". INI sings, raps, and dances together, but the singing voices of the members who are good at rapping (Hiroto, Shogo, and Lihito) can be heard in the song "How are you", which they wrote themselves. It's a melodic rap, so it has a different impression from this "MANIAC", but we hope you enjoy it. The members who are good at vocals recently appeared on a channel called "THE FIRST TAKE" and performed two songs ("FANFARE" and "I'm a Dreamer"), so we hope you will search for them. The five members who participated in this channel were Kyosuke, Hiromu, Takumi, and Fengfun, who are well-known for their vocals, and the leader (Masaya). Masaya is a former professional dancer and has served as a backup dancer for Seventeen. He has posted several cover dances on INI's Instagram and TikTok, so I hope you will take a look. INI also appeared at the recently held "KCON LA2024". I would be happy if you could keep an eye on my future activities.

In an interview after the show, one of the contestants said that they actually didn't get a choice for what to perform. They were just assigned a song by the show-runners (at least for this part). Which in hindsight makes the Kendall song choice..... questionable, to say the least (despite how well she did with it)-- giving a sixteen year old a song VERY explicitly about sex.

Give it a couple more listens. This is a great song! Justice is part two of a two-part series, the first one is OOTD, which sounds very differently. Just like ymenehcra for OOTD, an account named 9mynameis1 has been posting messages before the comeback. She posted that her seven friends became obsessed with the crown and have not been responding anymore, which corresponds with the secret diary Siyeon (our powerhouse main vocal, also known as Wolfie) is reading. The text there reads "How are you? I'm worried because you aren't replying." So what we are seeing here is the seven friends (Dreamcatcher) getting rid of their obsession with the crown (materialism, narcicism) by literally destroying it, which makes their friend rejoin them (there is an eighth person joining them near the end). There is also a lot of imagery about death and legendary figures like Valkyries or greek goddesses and legends. Reddit user PaintMeYaBasic has managed to identify these paintings in the MV: Hero by Edward Burne-Jones (from the tale of Hero and Leander), Valkyrie and a Dying Hero by Hans Makart, Hero and Leander by Salvator Rosa and finally "Justice" by Kenyon Cox in the center back. In the tale of Hero and Leander from Greek mythology, Hero is actually a priestess of Aphrodite (Venus in the Roman myths), so that is not the same as the hero who is taken from the battlefield by a Valkyrie in the other painting. But OOTD has the line "I'm Venus, Nephthys, call me a Goddess". It is likely there is a connection. While OOTD was about falling for the temptations of modern life and a satire on narcicism (especially influencers and fast fashion), I believe Justice is telling us to fight those temptations for a better world. It is a call to become a warrior for good in the world and fight the materialism that seems to be the most important thing for many people in the developed countries. You can see JiU break the bonds that hold her down, and we should do the same. Please note that this is just my interpretation. Art can be interpreted in different ways, and other opinions are just as valid as mine. There are also many references to their older MVs in this. The paintings also have a deeper meaning in Chase me, there is a sword in Deja Vu and Scream, the bite into the apple is a callback to BEcause and the tree to the Dystopia trilogy - and so on. There are many more. The 8th figure in the end could also be JiU from Deja Vu, finally breaking the cycle of violence and providing justice. Musically, I love the song. The guitars in the pre-chorus and chorus are pure heaven (just like Dongie with her wings). It has the right amount of heaviness for me, and it is an anthem and a call to action. I also love that they shortened the pre-chorus by two bars in the second half, throwing us into the chorus early. Justice is a brilliant, epic release, showing everyone that a group can still produce fantastic music and MVs after seven and a half years. I can't help it, I deeply respect these ladies and their whole team.

Mattyk...im obsessed with this song. It knocked cosmic off the top of my playlist. Ive been looping it. The visual aesthetic was ive i am, right from the start. And OMG, the vocals and rap! Im actually stunned, cause i knew they had skills but not at this elite level. Imo, baemon is more talented, refined vs blackpink at the same stage of their early era. Vocals, rap, and choreo skills...all better. But, i see what yg did in forming the core members of baemon. When ahyeon (i just learned their names yesterday) came in with the first rap, Lisa 💯. Vocals, with those power notes, effortless. This is the Best group of 5th gen...not debatable I seriously havent been this excited about finding a new group that hit since ive. Baemon is so good that ive learned their names. The first 5th gen group in that category for me. Im really hoping i wont get disappointed with their full release since i think this is just a pre-release single. I plan on getting their album asap. Thanks for the "mattyk time frame" reaction, i expected maybe a week later but you dropped it in 4 or 5 days, perfect 😂

Regarding signing the contestants who don't make it as trainees, while it makes sense for contestants on K-Pop audition shows, it's trickier than it sounds in this case because this is probably the only American-based group the company has any plans for in the near-future, and these are all North American contestants, so as new trainees not in this group, they would be expected to uproot their lives to live in Korea, learn Korean, and train to debut for a Korean-speaking group in Korea, with really low chances of even ending up in a group. Gina was apparently willing to do that (and already speaks Korean), but it would be a massive risk/commitment/culture shock for anyone else. Also, the standards for American talent who want to be in a K-Pop group are probably lower than the standards of regular K-Pop trainees in Korea (since it's such a big part of the culture that they groom from an early age). The 17 year olds in particular might be too old to realistically start being new Korean trainees. It's probably smarter and makes more sense for any rejected contestants to look for other performing opportunities in America instead.

Hi mattyk. We dont agree on everything and this is a Big Disagreement 😂. This song went past nayeon twice and itzy algorhythm. Its freaking AMAZING. Loved it first time i heard it and it was the chorus. The vocals and pace had to be just right to make it work. OMG, best rv chorus out of all their songs imo. Plus, riding on your rhythm thru the solar system...where, who has lyrics like that? Its why i fell in love with kpop, their unique way of phrasing things. This was funky, groovy, haunting, beautiful, airy and s bit creepy...all the things that makes rv rv. Now 3 of their songs are top 10, psycho chill kill and this. Love it, absolutely love it. the mv is based on the horror movie midsommar. basically rv are a part of a cult that worships the sun and an alien crash lands onto their planet. the alien eventually tries to escape but they catch and sacrifice her.

Hi mattyk, ive does not disappoint. Thats why they're still 4 on my fav list. I still miss their early love div, i am concepts, but im loving this direction. Baddie threw me for just a bit, then when it hit, everything after did too. This is on my looper playlist with lots of twice and itzy. Heard it yesterday. The song is so catchy...🎶🎶accendio...😂 I was worried when blackpink pretty much disbanded and twice went suoer western, like how is kpop going to stay relevant. I was 💯 mistaken. Ive lsf gidle and 5th gen is throwing out banger after banger. Amazing music week after week, and im still neglecting the boy side...that would be too much for me. Great reaction 💯💯💯

Hi mattyk. Im going to agree to disagree, up will always be their best song. But, this is just the right tone to exit stage left as ot9. I was so on board after up but not much hit after that. I understand that they tried fitting their concept to compete with the rest of 4th wnd 5th gen. I thought it was a mistake cause they HAD a brand after up. Great upbeat music, poppy and loopable. But kpop is kpop so.... Im glad that they're staying on as 7, and i hope they go back to being this concept. This is a song that i can loop. I love it. Hi mattyk. I dont stan pre-debut groups much, maybe a couple, but bad villain was right away. Both of these hit hard with lots of energy. My biggest indicator...i want more rn. I cant wait for new music from them. I also want a few softer vocal flexes, like aespa when they switched up with better things. This will be a great group from what ive aeen so far. Hi mattyk. This was on time...close enough 😂. I was streaming between this and catching up on your reactions in-between. The first time I heard this...jihyo style with nayeon vocals. A power BOP. I expected it to be more like her pop, bubbly and lighter. I didn't mind 😂. She absolutely slayyyed the vocals and omg, her visuals. That dance break was 🥵🥵🥵🥵. Gina and Kendall are like polar opposites, so might not want to mix those two up. Gina is the high skill, low expression/flair one (usually technically perfect but robotic), while Kendall is the low skill, high expression/flair one (usually covers for lack of skill by embodying the part).

Hi mattyk. This came across as a bit repetitive and obnoxious. Song was ok, but the choreo and setting was great. Different, with some brave girl chair choreo and an exid street performance. So crazy that as im typing, the song is hitting 🤣...wt? Its a bit addicting and way better the second time. I think what was annoying me most was the cymbals as part of the instrumentals. Wow. Hi mattyk, I got hungry at the big dinner box commercial. I would put that whole meal down without batting an eye. Maybe over 2 days tho... Ive just doesn't miss. This was kinda iffy cause of the heya chorus, but the second time in the song...it hit. Im going to disagree about baddie, it just grew on me the more I listened. This is why ive is #4 on my fav list. They displaced blackpink And gidle. That was a huge move. What an amazing stretch of kpop music. And it came from groups that I didn't expect. Aespa went back into my top 5 with their comeback. Lsf dropped to #6. All I can say is, competition is a great thing. Btw, I found a kpop store in a mall near me. Hi mattyk...on my second watch. I dont know how i feel about this one. Its just not hitting. I stopped paying attention to gidle during their "dark" concept period after latata. Theres good vocal parts but this isnt even close to supernova or long chat. Normally, if its going to be a grower, it does so on my second view. Not this tho. This is summer, the world is a shitty dark place and i dont need more dark from kpop. This is hitting like my first time hearing o.o., 🤔😐🫤 Nayeon will save kpop summer for me tho...and this is a reaction request in advance. I'll still prolly send a noti before the drop 😂. I like Sweat better than Feel the Pop although both of them are pretty catchy. Sweat got stuck in my head for a week or so. My favourite song by them so far would have to be their Japanese release, Yura Yura.

Some info/context: * There's an LA bootcamp for choosing who to send to Korea, then there's more training/evaluations in Korea before the actual group is chosen. (think you were confused about this last episode) * Pretty much the entire LA bootcamp took place over the course of just a few days. I think it's literally something crazy like Day 1 Dance, Day 2 Vocals, Day 3 Star Quality, Day 4-5 group practice + character interviews, Day 6 Showcase. * Falsetto is like that airy type of vocalizing you hear when people sing in choirs but would never use when speaking, whereas full voice is like your regular talking/shouting/belting voice. When you hear someone yodeling, they're basically switching back and forth between the two.

Hurricane is filmed in Vegas because there's some of the same places as in Bigbang's Tonight MV. Young, Wild and Free was their first song back after their legal battle with their agency TS was settled. Wake Me Up is a song Yongguk wrote about mental illness. It was his comeback after around 6 months away battling panic disorder. They had a couple more songs after Wake Me Up. I think Hands Up was their last comeback.

Hi mattyk, these are 2 of my fav aespa songs. Girls is my go to for a banger, still part of my workout playlist. Remember how much i hated nmixx o.o. and tank...it was their attempt into aespa territory. Tho ive come around to both, i never hated kpop songs like i did with those drops. Aespa is as unique as redvelvet in terms of their core sound. Even when they go softer, like lifes too short, theres enough aespa identifiers that i cant mistake it for any other group. Savage is great but girls is just special (twice anyone? 😂). It goes so hard I love it. And this is a case of agree to disagree cause it is absolutely addicting. Their new drop supernova is really polarizing from what ive seen. Its closer to o.o. but way better. Dont know if youre planning on a reaction but i want to know what you think. Hi mattyk, the last time a color themed song from wooah came out, i think neither you or skilla liked it (Purple). This song...an absolute BOP from the start. Its so addicting, and they look amazing! Wooah just fell out of my top 10. It was a case of they didnt drop much while my top 5 did. As for money, im pretty sure theyre using slang for feeling great...i feel like money. But you bringing that topic up reminded me of bts blood sweat and tears. The money money money...it was many in korean. I dont think it applies here but i could be wrong. Hi mattyk, this is my first time hearing loossemble. Not bad. Heard your reaction first and it didnt vibe right away, esp sensitive. Girls night was better, but there was something there. I watched the second time and...the melody reminded me of blurred lines with robin thicke and Pharrell. It hit the second time, both songs. I agree, sensitive couldve had more but its a good song. Girls night tho...kinda my vibe. Funny thing is im subd to them. It's s one of the channels where i thumbs up posts but no real engagement...that might change after this.
