Great playing, but I believe the original recording features the guitars tuned down a full step. This way you can finger the chords in “E” blues but is sounds like “D” blues.

This is great! I make compositions with the Eastwest VSTs myself. I believe if the brass and string section had more reverb and if the trumpets had less gain, this composition would improve!

Nice job on the the Yardbird cover, you should do a few more of theirs, some Mayall Bluesbreaker stuff, and early Fleetwood Mac, ( Peter Green era ). You've got a real knack for playing that type of stuff and the sound is great.

I don't know whether to like it or hate it. His technique is good, but the guitar sound makes me think of some sort of weird Charlie Chapman/ animation soundtrack. But he does make the tune his own, which, regardless of my petty opinion, is the point, so I'm leaning to 'like'. I'd like to see him kick up the tempo to Steve Vai/ Yngwie Malmsteen velocity. Classical music played at supersonic speed has been done, it might be different to hear manouche played that way.

I just played it over the original track. I found this song in the Buddy Holly Gold [Original recording remastered] album. It seems that this song didn't appear in the Buddy Holly Studio albums and only appeared in some compilation albums.
