What an amazing solo! I can't believe only recently have I discovered it. Berton Averre should be in the guitar hall of fame just for that solo, not to mention the riff. I double tracked the guitars and I panned them to the left and right to make them sound bigger. I used a Soldano Crunch channel simulation on my Ampero Mini.

Most likely I am going to get two views on this song, if lucky ;) This is one of my favourites. I love Steve Hunter's playing on this one. I wish I could have one percent of his feel. Amazing playing. And only DLR could deliver this lyrics.

i broke my fingers learning this song in late 90'. But i always learn solos, acoustic parts, riffs from ears, and i must say you're really close to Steve sound , but far far away from his right hand skills (dont worry-me too ;) ) No one can be compared with Steve Morse-the one and only and probably the best technique guitarist of all times. DP is Steve and only he can help Purple Family stand after Blackmore leave the band (sad thing is Steve was longer than Blackmore in DP and made this band much more powerfull than earlier. Sub like and commentary ;) See you bro, maybe a little duel with Hey Cisco (if it was not to hard for you). Good Bless you in 2024 (i start tour with my band now, but i will be observe your channel).
Hi mate. Thanks for your comment. No worries, no one gets close to Steve. I wasted years trying to pick his way (thumb + two fingers grip). It wasn't natural to me, so now I try to do it my way. The only guy who came close to Steve's articulation is Ian Thornley from Big Wreck. Check his solo on Million Days from Albatross album. Echo of Steve's playing are all over that album. PS. I did Hey Cisco on my channel. Check it out. That two pick per string outro almost killed me;)
@@heycisco Steve is virtuoso no musician ;) i play 30 years on guitar and still try to learn ho did he do this magic tricks ;) We got lucky to live with Steve in same era.

This song is so easy to listen, but unbelievably hard to play! Although this is one of the best best covers I have found, still there is one small detail missing. Paul Davids broke it down to 4 pieces here and heycisco mastered that all, except the emphasizing of the hammerons, mentioned here ua-cam.com/video/vbuUgetNnKQ/v-deo.html. Still as I said - great job indeed!
