thanks
Video is not exactly accurate but if you have a brain and understand English. It is guaranteed to work. Thanks man. Great video
Excellent video, thanks!
You're the best! Doing that Rn
This video is 4 years old, but I'm curious if you can slide it part of the way in with it turned to ACC (Accessory), and then turn it back to Lock at the point that you need to make it snug. Not sure if it'll work, depending on how the bottom pin is designed, but I suppose it's _possible_
I have this same problem on my 2004 Camry but my steering wheel is locked pin is in the top of ignition cylinder and hard for drill to fit. Still haven’t figured it out yet don’t know a lot about cars.
On my tundra I ended up getting a whole ignition assembly from a parts tundra and just swapped the whole thing. I looked all over and couldn’t find something like this anywhere when I was trying to fix mine. A month later I found the damn keys
Thank you!!! I did this all day until it finally went up! It definitely works!
Lmao hope it helps I don’t care just doing my thang
Thanks dude, got no key and I had a feeling this is what I was gonna have to do.. glad i got good drill bits :(
Dude. Starter analogy was perfect.
Gears are not the problem. The problem is the motor. The motor has two carbon brushes inside. when the widow motor stops sometimes the brushes stop on a dead spot on the armature. By hitting the door you cause a small vibration that's enough to make a better contact between the carbon brushes and the armature causing the motor to work again. It's only temporary the next time the motor stops it might stop in the same dead spot.
Thanks
That shit worked perfectly, thanks my guy.
This is stupid.
Thank you worked on kia soul
If anyone also has a locked steering wheel like I did make sure to move the wheel as you turn the inner part to get it to line up with acc. Also you can put the cylinder in with no key and then insert the key to lift the tab part. Just did this on 97 Camry thanks for the video 💪🏼
If it locked the wheel and I already have it put back together can I go back or did I mess up?
@@ThatGreyIS300 sorry for late reply. If you mean that you got the new ignition in without having to use pliers to turn the cylinder then you can just turn your wheel like you would normally while its locked and get it started. But if you need to remove the cylinder after you got it in you you should be able to remove it with key now so you should be alright the only issue would be if you had to drill the new one out.
Honestly, all I can say is thank you for your help is really appreciate it
Thank you, every step helped and worked within 5 minutes. 🐐 status bro.
goated
It worked, thanks !
What was the part number for both seals?
Respect for doing this the only way you can.
Thank You sounds simple but it is the only thing that worked
It works thank you!
Great video .. very detailed
AGG........😂😂😂😂😂😂ACC(Accessory)
Thanks for the drill thing that part helped me out a lot.
Couldn't explain it better 👏 🙌! Thanks for the tip and information! God bless!
Thank you, Wey!
Does anyone know if this will work for a 98 Avalon?
Thanks man.
Thanks
Worked for me. I didn't even have to take off the door panel. Thanks, man.
Thank you man !!!!! Life saver
Great video. 2 years after you made this video i stumbled across it and helped me out big time. Thanks bro
Thanks dude. This key barrel looks pretty much the same as my 1998 Toyota Granvia (Japanese import version of toyota Hi ace). The removal and replacement was exactly the same procedure for my vehicle except the first bit of plastic surround was bigger on my Granvia and had to undo 2 screws lower down. I had my key but was having problems turning it. I sprayed some WD40 but had no luck turning the key. I tried wiggling it, with no luck, then tried ramming the key in really quickly and attempted to turn to start position it worked after about the 20th go then carefully moved it back to the acc position. That allowed me to push the pin in. I did need to use a very small flat head screwdriver to prize the barrel out. job took about half an hour. Would not have been able to do it without this video. Thanks again.
Great video. Thanks for sharing
Ok worked this out. Instead of doing this and wrecking your barrel most toyotas of this era have a key that fits both door lock and barrel. Way easier to remove door lock and take to locksmith and get a key cut, Then just replace lock. No damage. Pro tip. Must use drivers side door. The lock has the "master code".
So can you get a screwdriver and butcher it to ACC? Then it is just a matter of pushing on button. Before I try....
ACC STANDS FOR ACCELERATION. THIS WAS A VERY GOOD VIDEO BUT THAT IRRITATED ME EVERYTIME.
ACCESSORY ACC / ACCESSORY (ACC ON) The second position is the ACC/ACCESSORY position, which allows you to use your radio, windshield wipers, and other accessories while the engine is off. This position should also be used in the event that your vehicle is being pushed or towed. In this position, the engine is off.
Dude I had the same shit happen... Window wouldn't roll up and my girl freak. We were in oakland so for her the idea of a window being was a no no. I looked up a vid like yours 😃 and it fucking worked just one good smack came right up
Este es un video que ensena
OMG! You helped me so much. All the other videos didn’t have my situation. My 2002 4Runner original ignition is STUCK all the way to the left. Thanks so much!
Thank you so much, worked like a charm my husband said!
Just the way you explain things !!! Totally thankful you should be a teacher at anything that’s for sure !!
Thank you
Good video. I have a 99 Camry myself.
