Two wheelbarrow’s full of wood lasts me two weeks in similar weather in a 1000sqft house that’s horribly insulated. I’m sorry but that thing isn’t efficient at all. The emissions are great until you open the door 4-5 times a day and it’s open for 30+ minutes during fillups and cleaning. Sounds great but man, that seems pretty bad honestly.

Dude you should go solar plus minisplits for cooling! I installed a 4kw system for under 4,000$ in 2021 with used commercial panels and a used IFLA...(Industrial flooded lead acid battery) It paid for itself very quickly. In your case it would be approximately 20 months.... I'm not far away in Northeast Ohio. Let me know if you need some guidance.

that's kind of like my woodshed when i got it, i added the furnas when i bought the place. now i've got a trolly system for wood processing. so now i process as i go, i spend 15 or 20 minutes out there whenever i stoke the fire, so i'm always 10 cords ahead, the wood i'm splitting today won't be seen again until this time next year

Free? How much did that boiler cost and everything to install it? Wood splitter? Chainsaw(s) and oil and gas? Time spent on cutting and splitting wood? or purchasing firewood? Believe me he is not heating his house for free. Forget about going on vacation in the winter.

I think 5% is win. I’d scale the prototype down to may be a face cord or even a rick. The way you can cycle through the prototype faster without so much effort on the build.

Using smaller pieces would run hotter and cleaner, bigger pieces tend to smolder thus using more fuel to create more heat. You could split the wood and cut the cost of wood you use down.

Fire door facing all that wood and kindling on the ground looks like a disaster waiting to happen. I’d consider putting a steel sliding door there. Take a wheel barrow of wood out and shut the door behind you before opening that burn chamber. It’s just fine until it’s not. It’s happened to plenty of guys that thought they were being careful enough. All it takes is one pop/ ember you don’t see. Not saying it to be disrespectful, just an observation and suggestion with your best interest in mind. 🍻

I agree it's great but how long before people just like yourself and there's lots of people with those wood burning stoves that take a tremendous amount of wood 24 hours a day can sustain wood for harvest versus wood growing?

The aluminum burning is giving off toxic fumes that cause central nervous central damage. The reason I know is that I've already been there done that. For your health don't do that. I have nervous system damage from welding and inhaling aluminum fumes while it burned. Careful.
