Hello Yasmin thank you so much for doing this excellent video! It really helped me. I wish you a very blessed Christmas. 😊🙏
What a wonderful and important message. Yasmin, thank you so much for your wisdom and your caring heart.
Thank you, Yasmin, for this much needed message. I appreciate all you do.
Yasmin, thank you for this video and your summits to help so many of us deal with separation from our families. Whether we are forced to deal with the unjust alienation of our children or we choose to go no contact with abusive others for our own self-preservation, family estrangement is challenging. Your kindness and compassionate conversations provide a great support. 🙏🏼💕😃📚
Thank you
Thank you 🙏
Beautiful meditation!
Needed this so badly today 🍃🍃🍃🍃🍂🍂🍂
Lovely. Thank you for creating this.
Wow Yasmin!!
this was exactly what I needed, thank you!
I fell in to a great sleep …. Thanks you 👍
Thank you Yasmin … I really appreciated those 10 minutes of calm and healing ❤️
You are so welcome!! xxxx 🥰
Very helpful! Thank you!
My daughter has estranged herself from her entire family and all past friends. I pray she has not been encouraged or influenced by any platform. We were not a perfect family by any means as none exist. The pain and trauma that has been caused is so heart renching. It has been almost 4 years and I pray every day for a reconciliation. 😢
Karenhunter, I feel with you. Our daughter has done the same 😢Have you ever considered that she might have Borderline Personality Disorder? BPD’s are often estranging family and friends. You might want to check out McLean Hospital (belongs to Harvard University) before googling BPD! Wished I could get in contact with you to share the pain.
@bfrey1000 yes I believe she does have bad. I will check it out. Thank you 💚
You might also want to look up tara4bpd.
I might have leave my family in two years
Thank you . Often human behaviour is an extention of previous family behaviour. Generational and passed down. Ex, a parent that golden childs and creates the scapegoat (estragement ) has experienced . behavior
Agree 100% so often estrangement is generational - those who’ve observed their parents or siblings cut off contact or disconnect with other family or friends who they perceive have offended them are more likely to do the same. Breaking generational patterns of no contact requires great courage and open dialogue rather than walking away and refusing to discuss hurt, concerns and resolution. Pointless laying blame at any one person’s feet when the behaviour has passed from one generation to the next through observing avoidant behaviours and doing the same.
Children as resent the parent who denies access. Never fails ❤ Amen
This was such a useful and relatable post - Thankyou for helping me to accept my situation with my son, your advice was extremely useful in so many ways.
Great advice 👍🏻😁🎉 Happy New Year!
Art journaling or junk journaling is a great hobby for the winter. It’s helped me tremendously.
💔
How can we take steps to forgive someone when they deny what they did?
Thank you for this very insightful video, very much appreciated.
How do you accept the loss of your daughter and granddaughter?Don't see reconciliation being in the picture.
Thank you
I appreciate so much all you do for this community. It truly has helped me have something to hold onto and embrace during this very challenging journey of estrangement. You calm, reassuring voice and the wisdom you share is so wonderful always.
forgiveness does not involve letting go of emotion. Forgiveness is pardoning someone's error, nothing to do with any emotion
This will be my first Christmas completely on my own as I'm estranged from my brother and his family ,have no children and no partner. It will be a challenge but its an opportunity to start a new tradition and build new memories. Scary, but also a time where I'm not walking on eggshells , feeling depressed and anxious. Sending hugs to others who will be estranged from loved ones.❤
I've been ghosted by my brother , his daughter my niece and her husband. After years of abuse from my brother and growing exclusion by them I actually feel almost relieved by them ghosting me. I no longer feel I want contact with them so do I block them on WhatsApp or am I just responding in anger ?
Go within and sit with the feeling. It’s okay to be angry and then unblock because it doesn’t matter. Be gentle with yourself. What do you learn about yourself?
Thanks, I have given up on my family.. It's scary when you have no family
Completely well explained.
my son died and my daughter that’s a therapist left soon after, 10 years now .
So sad I wish you get some peace in life this is heartbreaking
I am not sure if I want reconciliation. A trust was broken when she cut off communication one month ago. I will never trust her again, because she can always do it again. I also lost respect for her when she hurt her children by not letting them see them ages 3 and 6. I had a fun relationship with them, and they will never get that in a grandmother. The other GM has passed. This was an abrupt estrangement which if I may be honest, is petty and immature if at the age of 41 she can't communicate. Her husband is estranged from his father regarding sharing "his" inheritance with his new wife. What I did was ask her to leave me alone, as I had COVID-19 with a temp of 102 and pulse ox of 91. She kept telling me that she was going to call an ambulance and when I refused, as I am a medical professional who is able to asses myself. She stated "Fine get your own fluids and pulse oximeter" I turned off the phone at that point because I was exhausted. I did not realize later that she said she was sending them. I think that 40 is the new 20. I'm leaving my money to ASPCA and Amnesty International, as I don't feel that she really needs it and they do. Too be honest, she is always crabby and yelling at one son, I don't miss her, I miss the grandsons.
Thank you. This is so helpful. So glad I found you….well done.
None of this was even a thing before feminism. Is this women's fault? Yes, no doubt about it.
“Misuse of boundaries often results in increased alienation instead of increased love.” John Townsend
It's been 3 years since I've spoken to my mother. I wish I could completely forget about her but sometimes she sneaks into my mind, memories of the past, and I get so angry she still crosses my mind now and then. As time goes on, will she eventually fade from my memory? I pray for that day.
Very sad. Feel sorry for all. So many misunderstandings...
Maybe she is the one who needs prayer the most 🤷🏻♀️ I'm in the same boat. I've been advised to pray for my parents daily. I still dream of them... I don't think you ever forget. But you can find peace.
Do unto others as you’d have done to yourself
U are a jerk for putting your mother down

Growing family estrangement especially between adult children and parents is a growing problem because of therapists especially millenial therapists also known as snowflakes for good reason. The growing trend is to break up family
@@OwwitsmuggyoutsideThat is such an overused, hurtful, non-empathetic and absurd saying!
@@Owwitsmuggyoutside It takes two to tango.
@@Owwitsmuggyoutside There are many toxic, unsafe, personality-disordered evil people in this world that make it impossible to have a healthy relationship with them.
@@Owwitsmuggyoutside In my life, there have been folks who are impossible to remain in relationship with due to their evil. No matter how loving and accepting and accommodating and serving and forgiving and loving I’ve been, it’s absolutely impossible due to their evil constantly displayed towards me! There are so many who have a quenchless thirst for control over others!
It could very well be that the issue is so many Boomer parents have abused their kids and refuse to acknowledge they have done anything wrong and caused deep and lasting problems. It is not healthy to "keep the family together at all costs" when the family is toxic and harmful.
There can be no real conversation about estrangement without acknowledging and UNDERSTANDING narcissist abuse.
It was my mother who initially gave me the silent treatment and when I ignored it and tried to talk to her she branded me ''aggressive'' but now, I cannot go back to normal unless she acknowledges that I was not allowed to have a say in the family and when I tried, I was met with contempt, self-righteousness, martyrdom, the silent treatment. My family only want to talk about my anger and my upset but who can be exiled out of the family without having a reaction to that?! I have to be done now. Waited too long for their self-reflection.
Absolutely - hit the nail on the head!
Hi agree. Alot of these videos are Parent blaming... I 'm so done with my narcissist Son. 5 yrs of trying, I'm tired, if anything ? It just feeds the narc. @@d.r.q.2032
Narcissist is just the new word that children love to use, you probably don’t even know the proper definition of a narcissist. There couldnt possibly be the amount of narcissists that you people seem to have come across.
Call it living with a demon then if not narcissist. Who cares about ere here listening and learning because half of us have DID and Dissociative amnesia and bpd from narc abuse took me 47 years to remember that my parents were always trying to kill me since I was a child. So it’d it’s a new word I just learned to explain what I went through then so be it. I’ll use the word. Because I didn’t have a word before. I lived with demons. Fine I won’t use the word narcissist. I’ll just say demons.
Yasmin...God bless you. I think you saved me with my suicidal ideations. Estranged from my adult daughtetr and banned from my 4 beautiful granchildren.😢 i will play it over and over. Thank you truly.
Well done, thank you for gifts.
I needed to hear this today...TY!
Yasmin, many thanks for your kindness. This validation truly makes a difference ❤️
❤Thank you for this message 🙏 Today has been an especially difficult one in my journey and your caring means everything!
Thank you ❤
