Good simple but smart tip
This is what I do w every doc I watch. Who is the prod co and who are the DP/cam ops. Then I find them on socials and connect.
Is the email stuff necessary? Seems like people would be less likely to agree to sign that.
Here in Norway, there are official and protected minimum wages for the film industry. The current documentary producer minimum wage for someone with 0+ years of experience is $317/h (or $6870 a month). It increases at 3+, 6+ and 10+ years.
@@whengrapespop5728 Norway sounds good! When can I move?
Such a helpful document sheesh
Thank you for sharing this Leah, super eye opening!
@@ChristopherShipe yes!! Glad to hear it
wish I had these when I first started filmmaking. Nice video!
Thanks! I had some help ;)
Nice Job Thank you
thank you!!!
Thank you very much!
Thank you. Super useful tips.
Thanks 👍
Thank you so much for sharing this!! 😭🙏🙏 when you filmed in international locations where your subjects didn’t speak English, did you have them signed in their own language or English ? I believe it’s fair to translate the release for the subject but I wonder if distributors will accept release written/signed in a foreign language 🤔 thank you so much 🙏🙏
That's a great question! I think ideally the character would be able to read + write in their own language. In my own experience, I only had it written in English; however, we had an onsite translator that read it to them.
@@storiesbyleah thank you so much for the helpful advice 🙏❤️
If i'm interviewing someone anonymously do I need a release form? Their face will be hidden. Does their voice have to be changed too without a release form. I wouldn't even know their identity over zoom...
I would consult a lawyer - but I think it would still be smart to get a written release form with a 'memorandum of understanding' about how they would be portrayed (voice/appearance/etc)
great stuff! its would be great if I can collaborate with you on documentaries
Aguyje ko marandúre!
Thank you!
Thank you : )
Really useful! Subscribed ❤
Does Boomerang require me to use a Gmail address, or can I use my personal email?

Hello thank you for sharing
Of course! More videos coming soon :)
Greetings thank you for this information. I have an issue with my film. I filmed quite a few volunteers at a public event help me with a film but didn't have them sign forms and unfortunately I can't get in contact with them. Can I still use the footage or would I be at risk?
I would say if it was in a crowd, you are ok to use it! For large events too, I use a crowd release form. Also, what is the final deliverable and who is your audience?
Excellent INFORMATION GIRL, way to go! you are Spitting Gold Here ! Congrats on doing this video. Keep it up!!
Thank you! More videos coming out soon :)
Hey Leah, I filled out the form to receive the 3 forms and I wasn't emailed the documents. Let me know if there's something I did incorrectly.
I am experiencing the same issue

Hey Leah, I'm starting a channel, as a producer, what video editing software would you recommend that wouldn't need a subscription like Adobe? But easy to use with various tutorials on UA-cam for sef-learning. Thank you!
Hey there! Awesome, congrats on starting a channel! I would recommend using DaVinci Lite - it's free but even the pros use it! I think this is the right link to download: www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/
