Переглядів 128 тис.14 років тому
A brief, but by no means definitive, overview of Isabella Hoffmann's new technique for creating astonishing works of art and multi-layered, life-like images, using a felting machine. No threading needles, no fumbling with pinned-down pattern pieces, just layer your wool pieces, and in minutes you can create incredible art with tremendous textures and beautifully blended color.

    Tendrá que comprar una máquina de EE. UU. Y enviarla a su país. Puedes encontrarlos en E-bay www.babylock.com/machines/sewing/embellisher o esto www.ebay.com/c/1030932960 El envío puede costarle tal vez $ 100 o más. Espero que esto haya ayudado. My favorite is the Babylock Embellisher 7needle or 12. You can probably find them on sale for $100 on e bay or Greg's list. It will cost you on shipping maybe. I like the Babylock best because the needles are closer together. Janomie's needles are further apart and they usually come with a large felting needle size. A good size is 40. Ask your local dealer ship if they carry smaller felting needle sizes. It creates a smoother effect and less danger of creating a hole. If you buy from a dealer ask to try out the mashine. Hope this helped.😀

      Bring the machine to a local sewing machine dealer ship, such as Baby lock and see if they are willing to take a look at it. It might be something very simple. I believe that Simplicity is also under Baby lock. Not quite sure how ever, or also call several baby lock dealer ships that are in your area. It might cost you to have it checked out but it would be well worth it. Jo Ann, does really no after sale support.

    I was introduced to the Baby Lock Embelisher 7 unit. They no longer make the 7 unit, but only the 12 unit Embelisher. But here is the kicker. You can find those machines on e-bay for maybe 100-200 dollars. Also you can ask the sewing machine dealer ship to order you a plate for the 7 unit and a 7 unit needle holder and you can turn the 12 unit in a 7 unit machine. All they did is created a needle holder unit that holds more needles and changed the plate on the bottom. I needed to replace my lights and I started to look closer and discovered I can interchange it. Another good place to get needles is : Terry Weber 585-993-0509 Bethany Arts. She carries various sizes and styles of felting needles including for the felting machines. Hope this has helped, let me know if you have any other questions. I am hoping to make another video later on this year.

    Are you using perfelted material? If so where are you buying and can you use the machine and loose wool to create pieces? and what side are you using as the show piece the side with the template or the result side?

    • @BearlyCollectibles
      @BearlyCollectibles 7 років тому

      Hello Lorri, it is always best to pre felt the material, just in case you want to wash your artwork later on, to prevent shrinking. For sure you can use loose wool also known as roving. It takes a little bit more time. Roving (loose wool) can be felted right under the felting machine and one can create a new background or use these pieces to cut out the pattern shapes. You can use what ever side you like best. Sometimes I flip the front and backside to place my pattern pieces, depending on what look I want. For an example if I felt a bunny I will machine felt the body from the back and the leaves etc. from the front of the background. This gives me the fuzzy look of a bunny and the firmer look of the leaves. Simply have fun.

    I use wool felts, or woven wool such as coats, jackets or hand dyed wool. Wool works best because of the fibers. The leaves in this video are wool felt and recycled wool fabric.

    What type of materials (cloths) can be used or not for shading or mix felting? I Wonder which materials is the green and orange you've used in this video Isabella Hoffmann

    • @BearlyCollectibles
      @BearlyCollectibles 10 років тому

      You can't use leather on a felting machine. But one can use wool fabric and machine felt it to denim, cotton and flannel,However stay on the wool when machine felting or the needles will shred the fabric. One needs something fibrous for the needles to have something to work with. I used wool fabrics, such as old coats or good equability felts.

  • @yotubeaqui1978mlc
    @yotubeaqui1978mlc 10 років тому

    This is an amazing idea and you don't even have to use material glue anymore.

    • @BearlyCollectibles
      @BearlyCollectibles 10 років тому

      That's correct, by lightly tacking it with the felting needles, one can remove it and place the pattern section somewhere else. Once it is however machine felted in place it is impossible to move it.

    and other fabrics. When you break a lot of needles it will tell you either do not have enough speed or you move the fabric or fiber to fast under the plunching needles. Fast speed, slow movement on the top and tight circular motions will give you the best result.

  • @BearlyCollectibles
    @BearlyCollectibles 11 років тому

    I use the 7 unit Baby lock and also their 12 unit Embellisher. All machines work well, however I know of one were the foot petal stick when you lift your foot of the petal. Baby locks needles are closer together. Janomee's needles are more apart. But they do have various sizes of needles. You can get hand felting needles and cut of the top and place them into the felting machine. You would have to try it out. Various sizes is nice to have when working on different types of weight on wool, denim

  • @BearlyCollectibles

    You can also use the brand name "Touch". They are not refillable but have the same ink. Make sure you get the blender. The blender can eat, drag the color out and also change the hue. Besides it can eat the color like an eraser. Sharpy can also be used but you do need a blender and you need to heat set the ink. There are few tricks to get the ink out. I think I will make a you tube for it. Do you have skype? I do skype classes as well.
