Something Different!
I bought a painting! I got it for a song, because it had gotten damaged, and I just happened to be in the right place at the right time!

Thank You!! 🌺
Beautiful cab!
Thank you! That’s the most favoritest one I’ve ever made. I’ve returned to that spot numerous times looking for more of that material. That was a very special piece I found.
White fir is unique because most thundereggs are filled with translucent agate vs the opaque jasper. The hill to the actual dig site was more steep than my 2 wheel drive could handle so we had to walk up with a wagon. I love the butterscotch pudding color of the jasper though.
Me too. I love the subtle color changes and variations. The small ones are so cool.
Nice polishing results!
Thank you!❤️
It gets windy there quite often.. a lot of the material on the west end of the ridge is petrified "bog" material , multiple opalized stems , roots and even seeds can sometimes be found in the same specimen , and a lot of the bog takes a very high polish ✔️
Wow, that’s so cool. I found a lot of strange shaped masses that when cut open had beautiful orange colors inside.
In my teens, I spent countless hours hiking on and around the Saddles. I found a band of gem quality opal in one piece of petrified wood at the top, but never was able to find more. Some petrified wood areas were agate, and others common opal. I still have a lovely striated curved piece of petrified bark I use as a book end from there. Close to the Columbia River there used to be huge deposits of fish bone and teeth fossils that I dug through as well.
Whoa! That’s just making me want to go back!!
What amazingly finds.
Thanks! It’s an amazing place!
Saddle mt is in my top 3 for WA!@arslongarocks
@Dirt47 What are your other 2?
Looks like Crook County? Heading out Post way around Prineville Reservoir?
Further east, almost to Paulina.
@@arslongarocks Ah, past Post. Nice. Some “tasty” float out that way. Found a crazy green-white hunk of banded agate out that way once along the eastern edge of the Maury Mountains. Have never found one since. Keep on hounding!
@@duchampsrookyou too!!

🥰
I'm a log truck driver. I was hauling logs today in an area LOADED with petrified wood. It was all over the logging road because they had rock pits up on the logging roads and there are petrified logs in the rock. The just crush it and spread it on the roads. I grabbed a few chunks. I'll be going back one of these weekends with the family
That’s so cool! Awesome to find a place like that! Good job!

Watching ya on a 55” flat screen my man. The Oregon desert is your natural environment. I’ve not heard of this site before. I need to go on another trip with ya soon!
Yeah! There’s some really cool spots in that area. I want to go back!
Another great Rock Blog brother! Congratulations 🎉 - i love your own music playing on the background. It reminds me of a Quentin Tarantino movie like Kill Bill. In a Western feel Setting. your channel is growing im looking forward to the next one!
Thanks, man!
Thanks for sharing your experience, you teach us the hidden nature 🙏
There’s some beautiful places in Oregon.
There is uv reactive stuff there and even the kind that lingers the glow or a sec after lights are off.
Wow. I just ran my blacklight across one of the slices and some of the plumes fluoresce a lovely green! That could make some really cool cabs. Woo! Thanks!
Looks like you started video at the top of the hill. Good hunting up there.
Yeah, there is a spot where many, many amazing angelwing pieces are weathering out of the hill. There is supposed to be large boulders of the good plume stuff deeper down, but when I was there this trip, the heat was unbearable. I just walked around and dreamt of shade.
Super cool. Been up there a few time never found any. Maby ill try it out this weekend. Have you tried Hubbard basin petrified wood. Its real close on the othes side of 93. 👊
I have wanted to check that place out. I have not been there yet.
I have heard that some amazing petrified wood can be found there.
@ars_longa_777 oh yes. There are all the colors in the rainbow and all sorts of good stops on the 7 mile excursion up the mountain. 🤙 only problem is in the past they pushed a huge portion with a bulldozer and cracked most of the pieces. They make excellent specimens. But all the cabs I've made are so beautiful but held together with love lol.
I heard about that. Can uncracked pieces still be found? The pieces I’ve seen from there are amazing. I want to go!
Deer are the hippos of America.
Wut
Cool video.
Thank you!
I’m not very mobile at the moment. Shoulder is messed up and probably/will need surgery and my left knee isn’t one that is bendable right now. Hurts like a sum bish.
Oh, man. Sorry to hear that.
