Very good, Forsyth really did write fantastic books. The 80s movie was OK, but this narration by Dance, was amazing. Thank you for uploading it to UA-cam.

In my opinion The Fourth Protocol was the last great book Forsythe wrote. Not as good as his first three, 1971 - 74, but still pretty good. After this his work became repetitive and formulaic.

I'm still coming to terms with the idea that there will never be another tale concerning George Smiley and his friends/enemies. I suppose a publisher could buy the rights then employ a writer to add sequels. prequels and additions to the le Carre originals but they tried that with the Corleone universe, after Mario Puzo passed. All they achieved was to dilute the overall quality of body of work. They also made a lot of money whilst only needing to pay the author a fraction of what Puzo was paid, so the drop in quality may not prevent dozens more substandard additions. Look how badly Brian Herbert rubbished Frank Herbert's DUNE series - and Frank was his Dad! Money can make people justify a great many worthless and evil things.

Is this the full book? 3 hours doesn’t seem like enough.

As a stage lighting technician in the late 70’s / 80’s I used to tour all over Europe and Germany was a particularly good place as facilities were excellent and audience demand was high. However in all the tours of Germany Bonn was never included on any itinerary. Always wondered if the good folk of that city had banned such entertainment?
