Right up my alley, with three GWR beauties. I did have Abergavenny Castle in my collection, but felt she didn't really suit my preserved railway scene. She is now in the collection of a UA-cam friend of mine, King Orry. I have 4 00 gauge Great Western tender engines in my collection: 4965, Rood Ashton Hall (Bachmann), 7819 and 7822, Hinton and Foxcote Manor (Dapol with firebox glow and removable coal loads) and the hardest Bachmann model of all to find, 3440, City of Truro. I couldn't help blowing kisses at Dinmore Manor. I love her so much. Why do I love the Manors so much? I hear you ask. My answer is this: Find the real Dinmore Manor hard at work, and you will hear the two wonderful sounds that she makes, which are music to my ears. Meaning her shrill Swindon whistle, and her deafeningly loud sharp bark. That's what makes me love Great Western engines so much.

Although I love the LNER B17, Hornby have ruined her by making her look like a streamlined A4. Should have stuck to the original B17 engine as she is in real life. Loved seeing Tornado and Mallard, they are in their proper shapes.

Small point I know, and I don’t wish to imply anything but admiration for such a rare bird. But the early P40’s (A-C), like this B, were known as Tomahawks, not Warhawks (or Kittyhawks in UK / commonwealth service). The Warhawk name came in around the time of the E. (actually the D, but they were never a production model).
