We are both Master Beekeepers and have been keeping bees for more than 10 years. We love teaching about bees and beekeeping.

APIGUARD As Soon As Supers Come Off To Defeat Varroa Mites
Переглядів 20День тому
Apiguard buckets come with paper cards and a syringe. After Supers come off put 50 ml on a card above brood inside hive. To be effective it needs to be above 60 degrees F. After 10 days check the cards and if it's gone add another 50 ml for another 10 days up to 6 weeks total for both treatments. Make sure you do a mite wash after any treatment. Don't just assume the mite count is fixed.

What Works Best For Chalkbrood? Hive Alive, Super DFM, or Hydrogen Peroxide?
Переглядів 14414 днів тому
We ran a month-long experiment on 3 of our hives with chalkbrood. Using the 3 different treatments follow along as we find out which products work to control chalkbrood. Hive Alive was put on as a drench of 1:1 sugar water mixed at a ratio of 1:100, Super DFM was applied at 1 tablespoon per treatment, and Hydrogen peroxide was applied at a 1:1 ratio with water.

Awesome!
I don't get
The Bald-Faced here mostly go after the Yellow-Jackets, I did see 1 bugging 1 of my hives a few days ago. There must not be a high concentration of their nests here near me. Thanks for sharing your time, Blessed Days...
We try to make fun videos as well for everyone. thanks for being a fan
😅❤
😁👋
It's that time on year for beekeepers. Thanks for sharing, Blessed Days...
Monday, 6:48 Good Morning. Were you able to use the video from Gabe's home. I failed in my video. Fingers crossed Janell
Yes it's up and running
@@hamburghoney what it is listed as💕
@@JanellLudkey marathon swarm
That's work. Thanks for seeking answers!😊
Thanks for being a fan!
Laurie, can you let me know when you post retrieving the bees from Gabe's. Janell (Fluger) Ludkey
It will be very soon
Hi Mike & Laurie Can you let me know when you post from Gabe's home. Thx Janell Ludkey
video is up
Very awesome!!!! You are so creative!
Very cool😂
Combo beehive and mailbox a first!!
Next is a 10' x 10' shed on a pole 😂
Air Mail
I need 1 too😮❤
This is most certainly a case of ligma
Outstanding, love the research 😂
You guys should make commercials. Lol
Very good brother 😊
Thanks!
delicious!
Thank you 😋
that's how I imagine it 😂
What a wonderful mess. They make some interesting shapes 😊
Do you ever just take a piece of the honeycomb they made there and eat it just as is?
@@samanthaherrmann4861 no
@hamburghoney I wouldn't either. Timothy's grandpa had hives when they were growing up and they would just take a piece and eat it when checking on them.
I love your opening. You're such a cute couple. You are a team! Glad your hives are so productive!
It's all fun and games til you find out it's snapping turtle and just how long and far backwards their necks reach. Thankfully he didn't lose a finger or two😂
Oh that makes it much easier, congratulations.👍
Glad I didn't go. I would have decorated the boat and everyone in it.
it was a rough day!
Congratulations!
Thanks
The hulk peed on it....
I did not!
🤣
Somebody left green soda somewhere in the open.
Funny
👍
Nice Laurie!
Glad you like it!
Oh No!
All I can picture is Winnie the Pooh with a hive stuck on his head. Hopefully the bear boards will keep it away!
That's not how my teddy bear acts😂 nice, teddy
No good, I have seen 3 or 4 videos of beekeepers having bear issues of late. All we can do is our best to protect our time and their effort. Run more lines and a hotter fencer? Best of Luck, Blessed Days...
It is the strongest solar electric fence we could find!! It only hurts their paw for a day or two.
Get that bear!!! I would love a new bear rug.
Idk if any bee box other than a solid steel ones stoppin the bear😂 even then he can probably peel it like a can😂😂
He turned it into a lunch box. just picked it up by the lid and carried it off.
Dang bear. Can you reinforce it somehow?
No it is just a temporary hive made of corrugated plastic.
Do they have an AAA for bee addiction 😂
We would have to admit we had a problem first
@@hamburghoney * We will never give up!🤣
You're gonna get alot of honey.
My wife never fights over bee tools... she just drops by once in a while 😂
Its nice to have someone to help out in the bee yard
That is a difficult lesson for many beekeepers, some times we have to do what we have to do. It's all about the Apiary not any single hive. I have 1 that looks a little off, I'm keeping an eye on it over the next few days. Thanks for sharing your time with us you two, Blessed Days...
Thank you DC Bees!!
I used a competitor's product on 2 bait hives hung on trees and left a couple of bait hives sitting on the ground nearby. One of the bait hives sitting on the ground had a super lure in it from the previous year. Need less to say bees moved into the bait hive on the ground with the super lure. I did have a swarm move into one of the bait hives on a tree a couple weeks later.
I was surprised we even got a swarm this late in the season
Wow!😮
Yeah y’all need the Hillco for sure. You have certainly outgrown that 2 framer. We used a 3 frame hand crank for a few years before we upgraded to a Maxant 20 framer. But there comes a time where the upgrade has to be done. You will not regret it! We now use 2 Hillco MegaMax 32 framers haha!
Yea I am not looking forward to hand cranking 500 more frames!
Wow
If you are getting the HillCo 18 frame UltraMax, you will love it!
Thats what we are going with. Cant wait. Just bought one of their capping tanks at NAHBE and love it.
That's a nice box! Great!
Just extracted 7 boxes lastnight and averaged 35lbs per medium super. So it was probably not quiet 70lbs. More like 60
Do you guys have the "Honey Hoedown" licensed and patented? 😂 You should!
good idea. make a million bucks right
