We visited Gray Quarry for the first time and got a big surprise!
Переглядів 4232 роки тому
We met some friends at Gray Quarry in Gray, TN for an impromptu scouting mission for a new dive site for the shop to visit. We were immediately impressed with the visibility and lack of a thermocline. Little did we know that we were in for a big surprise about 2/3rds. of the way through the dive. We will definitely be back for more SCUBA fun & fellowship!

I love that area! Such a pretty place to visit, especially this time of year.
I am praying that all of my ancestors including my two uncles that are buried under lake Lanier continues to claim those that like to swim and water surf on graves I am asking them to continue to claim those lives they are disrespectful and bigoted please do your job by plucking them from the Earth in Jesus name amen- stay off lake Lanier!!
Great dive experience which I hope to complete one day
Looks like hes diving in mt dew😮. Very sad and haunting history. This lake has.
What made you decide to dive this portion of the lake?
@@bikerdude2941 Originally, we started diving this site because we were looking for deeper depths than what we were finding on the north side of the park. Afterwards, we found different areas we wanted to explore and kept coming back.
Awesome dive.
Massive catish
Wow great shots and what a proposal!! Congratulations to them ❤🎉🎈🍾🎊
Thanks Brent!
Watch out for the shark
@3:49 was that a human head?
Nope, it is a can of some sort and the remaining markings make it look like a face.
Very cool! I haven’t seen it for myself yet but hopefully soon.
Thanks, it is a fun dive. I want to do it again sometime and hopefully, I will get my video lighting right on the next one.
Hate the sound of this water 😂 video making me feel some of type of way
That's got to be in Lake Lanier. Great video!! Stay safe.🤿🙏
No, it was actually Lake Hartwell.
i'd love to see a photo of the houseboat from before it sank.
Me too. Legend has it that this houseboat was sunk in the 70's - 80's.
Atlanta-is
May I ask what that is you are swimming in between and under? I assumed it was a building but your vid says a "wreck" dive.
It was an old houseboat.
@@diverdougsadventures9168When did it sink? And where in the lake is it located? How deep?
how deep?
Beautiful filming of a great dive, I wonder what those fish eat.
Aeolus starts at 6:35
Wish I could see a before picture
I was a little boy I played in this lake all Summer. My Grandma Woop my Butt lol I would be back the next day. 675 people Has Dround in lake.
Beautiful! I would never do this so I have to live vicariously through people like you. Thanks for filming your adventures.
There is a spot on Lake Oconee that would be cool for you to dive.
I would be interested in hearing more details about this.
Great Video
This was an amazing dive and we actually was able to discover some new spots that makes the navigation of the site so much more effective.
Gray is the best!
....killed them people without knowing the truth... Now I can see why "the green mile" showed us some things. Then got the services to provide 💦 to cover it up... Nasu Qua Kafu. Pray before hitting them waters now...there is something down there....not sure if it's that crow girl spirit or the other kids but...it's there
Was that a face? 3:48
Nope, it is a can.
Very beautiful
My people died because of these wicked ass beast ain't nothing pretty about this nothing comforting this is a damn tragic ass event that should have never happened and they hit him they hit people under the water and also under that water is Bones of dead black people teach this in the schools and need to be taught how even a wicked white people has been to blacks 😡😡😡😡😡

Great video! I did this same dive this week with similar conditions. Do you mind sharing what camera and light set up you use? I would love to be able to take photo and video like this!
Thanks! Sure, I was using a GoPro Hero 8 on a hot shoe mount on my Sealife DC2000 camera. For lighting I was using two Sea Dragon 4500 lumen video lights. However, in my latest video I am using one Big Blue 8000 lumen video light. I am using the same camera but it is helmet mounted.
Cool catfish
People can be such pigs throwing stuff like this in a lake. Arrest them!
this is a man made lake built above a town & a cemetery sir . i don’t think there gonna make any arrests any time soon .
Another white person uneducated on how this lake even came to be. Do better.
You not very smart🤦♂️
So am I the only one who noticed the face at 3:48???????
nope youre not the only one
WTH?!!! 😮 I saw that too.
Holy ****
I thought I was tripping at 1st
WHOA!! 😮
U swear i never see fish
Is this another flooded lake 2 hide something the way things look now could be.
Used to live in Dallas, GA back in 2005. Dove Lanier alot back then. Winter was the time to dive the boat ramps for trinkets (sunglasses, phones, watches). Dove the coves in Summer for the same stuff.
How did the seawing novas perform in a cave never seen them used before in a cave !
These are the Gorillas which are a stiffer version of the Seawing Novas. I have been using them for years in the caves and have never had any problems.
Have you ever found any old coins or anything worthwhile lake wreck diving?
Very cool. I wonder if it's worth diving with a metal detector to find anything interesting
Dove these 20 years ago. Great visibility. Sub had a large turtle patrolling it...
Why are there so much trash in this lake?
I was thinking the same thing. Like yes, I’ve heard the stories of the lake being man made and essentially wiping out towns and blah blah back in the 50s... but there is SO MUCH crap in this lake. It’s a pretty big lake too.
It’s not trash. It’s the remnants of a town. Very sad story behind this lake, and for anyone to be brave enough to dive it is insane. So many deaths and disappearances happen here. No thank you!
Read that the maximum depth of Lake Lanier is 160 feet. It's 147 feet deep at Buford Dam.
How do you know a vw sized catfish isn’t gonna come out at you? It’s such merky water
Blue oceans, clean pools, and blue lakes only for me
I don't understand why your touching everything , thought cave divers just use the frog kick to get around, so very confused why your using your hand to get you through...
In low & tight caves like Vortex we sometimes use a technique called pulling and gliding to get through tight areas without kicking up the bottom. Since the bottom is sandy here and there aren’t a lot of rocks, the blue pipe made for a nice object to use to pull and glide. If this were a nice wide open cave we wouldn’t have to use this technique.
This is so beautiful! But yes it’s so sad :(
This lake is not haunted. People can't swim and are scared of water.
You are exactly right 👌🏻
This is so awesome. I love fishing Lanier. If you ever see some biggins down there I’d love to see em!
My ancestors died in a town called oscarville that is still under that lake. Do not go back, you are being very disrespectful. They have taken so many lives. That’s like stomping someone’s grave. There are homes, schools, graveyards and more under that lake. I’m warning you to stay tf away from there.
That’s your opinion but the surviving family members of the people who owned the house were very thankful that we made this dive and video. Thanks for the warning but I will continue to dive where I like!
