Fallout 76 ironically gets the backstory problem with fallout 4 correct by giving this random character from vault 76. All we know is that he was hand picked by vault tec and lived in the vault for about 15-35 years. That's all and I could ramble on about trying to figure out how ghouls got into the vault but again it's an rpg

This was the first video essay that really got what I felt with fallout 4. First was Noah Caldwell and Joseph Anderson and I really can’t forget this one. I was like 16 when this was put out

Lets all take a moment to understand that Mr. Matty Play's, a known Bethesda shill and fanboy declared that the dialogue wheel was not as bad as everyone thinks it is too only later be contradicted by his lord and savior Todd Howard.

The whole ghoul thing actually started in Broken Steel, the FO3 expansion. Mother Curie III, founder of the Apostles of the Eternal Light, an offshoot of the Children of Atom which worships ghouls, claims that those who drink her Holy Water (the purified water from Project Purity just tainted with radiation) will "not know thirst", among other things. Her entire congregation, minus one, are all ghouls. Her goal is to turn people into ghouls. More, when in the Presidential Metro, the computer there states that the metro is under attack by things that have no body heat. The attackers are feral ghouls. So, already with Broken Steel, ghouls have no need to drink and have no body heat, implying that they are, indeed, just zombies, even though base FO3 has Three Dog state that ghouls are just humans exposed to massive amounts of radiation. FO4 just took this to the logical conclusion, where they do not need to eat or breathe, so ferals could lay face down in lakes/ponds/puddles/rivers for days on end, waiting to ambush people.

Imagine if Kellogg’s just kidnaps your kid right and then your wife and you escape vault 11 now picture this Kellogg kills her when you go to him after getting nicks help so imagine if you’d built up your affinity with her and gone through quest together only for Kellogg to shoot her imagine how much more impactful that woulda been

Near the end when he discusses dlc for previous bethesda titles, FO3 dlc was ok cept the pitt, that was fun. Oblivion dlc was several hit and misses. The shivering isles was a homerun but the knights of the nine was a miss, forcing the player to make a pilgrimage to all of the divine shrines even if you have 0 infamy. Mehrunes razor should've been in the game free of charge, the fighters stronghold was pointless as was the vile lair, the thieves den and the orrery. Spell tomes didnt really seem to be all that much (at least from my experience) the wizards tower was useful for its spell making and enchanting stations and the alchemy garden and my opinion on horse armour is its ok but it should've been free. FO3 dlc wasnt all bad but could've been better. Operation anchorage was a nice bit of fun being able to experience the battle of Anchorage which in turn gave some nice rewards at the end. Broken steel while a nice expansion, was merely a means of fixing the ending that they f***ed up. Mothership zeta was ok. Could've done a bit better with navigation. Point lookout was also ok, too much fog though and the pitt was a pretty decent dlc with a decent story, nice weapons and environments. However the mill is a very bugged area with the roofs not being solid causing me to fall through the roof and dying and also making the steel ingots fall through the map making it impossible to get all the ingots

I prefer the stat sheet of the classics, (gifted for the win) don’t understand this obsession with crippling your character to derive decent enjoyment. Not to mention that you can make a flawed character with the old stat sheet, Fallout 4 is just lame all around.

It suddenly occurs to me, that Preston Garvey mentions his group were traveling through Concord - meaning they were newly arrived to the area... and that the raiders they were fighting could very likely have been living in those ruins, when Garvey's group showed up, invaded the most well-preserved structure and started shooting the locals if they tried to get in. In which case, the raiders were defending THEIR territory, and Preston is a violent psychopath who displaced a group of people from their homes by force, so he and his friends could have a roof over their heads. Just a random thought that came to me... 🤔

Imagine complaining about the lack of realism in regards to half of the music being nuclear or rocket based immediately after complaining about some of the songs being returning songs from Fo3 which is a very realistic move by the devs because how many copies of songs are produced and the randomness of which functional holotapes would be scavenged. However you are absolutely on point with the notion of adding extra music holotapes in the game that you can bring to the DJ and have added to the radio. That’s a genius idea that I’ve had myself, for years now.

Fallout 3 had a better excuse because they had a constant threat of super mutant attacks keeping them from moving forward but fallout 4 didn’t have that and arguably was heading the way of California until the institute destroyed the newly forming government

wish you would have counted fusion cores as a negative. As they where only made to limit how much low level players could use it. Which you have to ask. "If you did not want us to use it at low levels. Why even give it to us?" Also Bethesda games have a special code where npc can not be killed from other npc. The code that prevent npc A from killing npc B. Does allow the player to kill npc B. Meaning the essential npc bethesda has is only there to prevent you from killing them. Anyone using the npc is in danger argument. Does not know the game at all.

About the Institute. I guess what Emil was trying to say is that science must be in constant check otherwise it can go astray with vanity projects such is the Gen 3 synths. Additionally, i think he also tried to force in a joke faction to a degree. As in, imagine what would happen to the world if all those bullied geeks and nerds from high school suddenly came in position of wielding an immense power. They would go ape shit on everyone and anything and try to justify it with the words like: " Its for your own good", or in Fallout case " A betterment of mankind". I guess that was the original leadership of the Institute once. Destroying CPG becuse "intellectually inferior" residents of the Commonwealth refuse to bow to them unconditionally. So they get sourpuss and make life real difficult for the surface dwellers with stuff like homemade Super mutants and kidnappings and prototype terminators. By the time of the events of the game take place this behavior was no longer a case of show of force, it was a tradition. In game Institute knows nothing better than "sticking to their guns". I wont lie Institute had a lot of potential as a faction but because of Emil's special way of writing we got what we got.

See I like the idea that a companion can take care of themselves, you know scavenge\properly use healing\positive buff items, equipment management etc. But I also want them to be able to fuck up and not be an automatic master\infallible computer at doing these things.
