Can’t wait for the long video 😍
This week it will be uploaded :)
Love it, no Zoom!
@@capricorn8749 from distance you can see all effects.... it was out of this world !
@@simeonkolevadventures4930 yes, that's how I see it too!
I've done Pinnacle Ridge two or three times many years ago and I'm pretty sure the starting pitch Simeon did here is not the scramble route. The official grade 3 scramble has one short vertical wall you have to climb about half way up (8m maybe 10m) which has a larger flat ledge beneath, so limited exposure, followed by a very spiky and ridge higher up which is seriously exposed but quite gently inclined. I think the tell tale is that loose rock he grabbed early on, you wouldn't find a loose rock like that on a classic Lake District route. I wouldn't copy the start of the route shown here, I would double check your guide book, just sayin'.
@@Gregorovitch144 it is possible the route you have been on to be to the left where I was climbing . You should try this side and compare the exposure you can be surprised . ✌
@@simeonkolevadventures4930 I mean no disrespect man, it's a lovely video and the route is one of the best scrambles in the lake district. It's just that I feel we must always remember that grade III scrambles are potentially the most dangerous routes there are because although they are mostly pretty exposed they are technically so easy that folks with rock climbing experience almost always don't bother with ropes. Which is usually fine - unless you don't know the route, miss the right line and get yourself into something unexpectedly serious unprotected. Of course video footage is sometimes misleading with regard to gradient and exposure so that first pitch may have been milder than it looked on screen. But as I say I don't recall going up a wall like that to start this route. Looking at my old copy of the Scrambles in the Lake District guide for this route it says "Start at small cairn on the left of a gully and scramble up spiky blocks on the edge of the buttress". I think the "spiky blocks" in question are the ones directly behind your head at 3m10s in the vid.
@@Gregorovitch144 It is possible , if I go again I will try to take this route and compare them . Anyways the route I took it was really satisfying and scary until just before the gap next to the tower .
You need to come over to Northern Ireland, and explore the huge quarry and derelict concrete works, where they filmed Game of Thrones, castle Black. It's got a hell of an eerie vibe to it, huge place too. You'd enjoy it.
I would love to.... It is on my list to visit it but hopefully one day I will be able to ... I think there are more than one castles from GOT in Northern Ireland if I'm not wrong ?
@@simeonkolevadventures4930 No, not wrong at all. Plenty of them to enjoy here, and many others too. It's a smorgasbord of fine castles. There's even one where a very GoT thing happened, a real atrocity, where they promised the besieged defenders and their families they'd be given safe passage if they surrendered. I'll let you imagine what transpired.
Love wandering through huge quarry's. They have such a heavy, dark, sullen vibe about them so soon after the serenity and majestic beauty of the nature around it. You can feel the long gone presence of the effort, the hard work, the skills, the machinery it took to operate and run such huge places...mankind sure knows how to leave its mark in more ways than one.
It is so ugly and so beautiful in the same time ... It is strange feeling . Anyways , soon I will visit it again better prepared and I will try to explore it dipper ! :) Wish me luck .... :))))
@@simeonkolevadventures4930 Good luck, but don't push yourself too far down there. It looks really damn gnarly. A serious place!
@@Damien616 there are ladders to the bottom of it but I didn't risk it without ropes and harness, when I was going up it is easier but when you go down and look how high and deep it is scary to depend on the rusty ladders ..... Thanks ✌
@@simeonkolevadventures4930 Yeah, seen that in the video. Looks very dodgy, to be honest. Even with a harness and ropes you'd need someone there as a back up, too. It's all very high risk but exciting haha. I look forward to seeing your next attempt!
@@Damien616 I have the backup but he is at the moment climbing up Everest base camp so I have to wait for him hhaha , thank you . Greetings ✌😊

@@Simply.happiDess Definitely it is good idea for day out ! 😊
This place looks so mystic 😍
Be safety it more bit danger is wet slipping slate in the Cymru
@@donwright3427 I know it is not the safest place especially with all the old ladders , thats why I didn't get to the bottom because I didn't trust the ladders next to the collapsed rails next to the tower .... but maybe another time I will go again with equipment and get to the bottom ,or explore more if there is something I didn't see . Thanks for the advice ✌
I love this place, I call it mordor, hasnt changed since I was there in 89 with Alastair Hopkins (the) Luke Alvarez and chinese Mark and his brother.
@@ullrichjanullrich3612 I'm glad to hear it hasn't change , thats mean people look after it nd try to keep it in tood condition so everyone can enjoy the beauty of this ugly place 🙃
@@simeonkolevadventures4930 did you visit the thing we always called the “hairdryer” a big brick built vent with a grille on top? The first of us to climb onto it ( chinesey Mark) did a wee to see if thd vent would send his urine skywards, he ended up pissing in his own face! Have you looked at the bolted climbs there? Cystitis, Seamstress etc? They arent hard by modern standards but a good challenge for me back then.

This ridge is not a 'hike' in winter. It is a serious mountaineering undertaking.
