Yes, 1939 Plymouth had those squareish headlights. probably correct, aftermarket (early ) rings, etc.Mercury trucks were Canadian only. Early Mopars did hold up better,absolutely Some cool stuff there. Love,, Dubs

Mercury trucks were only sold in Canada from 1947-1968. Small farm towns either had a Ford or a Mercury dealer. So to sell more trucks Ford rebranded them to sell at Mercury dealerships.

About the Plymouth with the unique headlights. In 1940 sealed beam headlights became standard on all cars, they were quite an advance over the old bulb type. So aftermarket companies made kits to retrofit 1937 -38 - 39 cars. So those would be very rare today, possibly the only set left in such good shape.

I own one of those Vauxhalls. Mine is the Velox a 49 model. I'd post photos but a don't know how on youtube. Just got back to Tasmania after doing about 500 miles on the mainland zero issues and 18 m/usg economy. Very comfy car with the craziest front end. If any of you get a chance, check out the front front suspendion, it's torsion bar with hydro shocks all in a box connected to the hub. When you brake it tries to lift the front like a springer front on a motor bike.

Wish there was some yards like that over here. Man I think that stash would be sold in a flash. Mercedes was a car I wouldent of skipped by. Your onto something there in idea, but not following far enough. Not just a case of what's inside the yard vs outside- think of all the cool old things in collections up there, where the older owners are passing on, & most of the kids don't want to mess with "dad's old stuff/junk". Be paying attention to estate auctions and/or business closures as well!!
