Even though I hear lots of good advice, his lack of knowledge about nutrition worries me. He says that in order to prevent malnutrition, one simply has to increase calories. How can an expert say something silly like that? And also, since Parkinsons is a metabolic disease related to high insulin levels in the brain (which can't be used by the cells), the best way is to replace carbs by fats, so the brain is able to use ketones, and the gut microbiome can start to heal. High fiber is only required on a high carb diet, so replace carbs and the fiber isnt an issue anymore. The are thousands of studies about the effects of keto on parkinsons, so very strange that he could only cite one pilot study. Looks like he didnt do his homework well enough.
Those are two great men . thank you for your contributions to the Parkinson’s community.
Where do i get the book i live Kenya. Dr
Thank you. Just catching up on PD science, as a recently diagnosed patient, and this was by far the clearest and most helpful analysis I have seen.

This is one of the most fascinating and helpful presentations I've ever seen. Thank you so much for posting it. I follow all your episodes and trust your scientific integrity.
If we have a look at the number of people who report experiencing constipation and other gut issues prior to their PD diagnosis (even decades before), the importance of the gut in Parkinson's becomes clear as day. It's EXACTLY why we look at treating the gut here at SYMBYX. This message is so important - thank you for sharing this.
Many report keto diet and carnivore diet have solved PD. Start with ua-cam.com/users/live_FsuO_dOR4M?si=ac6iblHZCFQrX6VZ
Fabulous! Thank you for sharing your important work.🙏
If you transplate faetal matter from one person to another. How do this impact on the gut DNA?
Neurologist Matthew CL Phillips promotes fasting & ketogenic diet; Much less carbs (and grains) than indicated in the Western "Food Pyramids", and Mediterranean diet.
Interesting that paléo medecina in Hungary is researching the ´leaky gut’ problems for years now and are succesfull treating this as the the health problems it gives Little to no interest from the scientific world for their work, even to get their case studies published Worth looking closer ICMN as it is called nowadays I believe…
Excellent news ❤ thanks from Bangladesh
I learned about the intestines/gut-brain (hence “leaky bowels”) connection. I keep things flowin’. 😉Kids in high school need to learn about the Proper Human Diet.
Interesting 👌

Been using the Duo Coronet on my toe and my toe nail fungus is clearing up, tried for two years to get rid if it , also noticed other minor changes in my books that is my stools are softer before they were harder, So I guess RLT is working but I will have to notice a major change. Started my Mom on RLT last week 8/18/24, she has Alzheimer hope it helps her.

Hi, how can I purchase one of your hats and how much will it cost, please 🙏
The web is full of testimonies from people who have reversed and even totally eliminated symptoms, with supporting documentation. What planet are these people on? (I am talking about doctors taking the conventional line on the cause/treatment for PD) For myself, my PD number was 37 in Dec of 2019, today July 2024 it's 22. My personal feeling is that "Parkinson's" is nothing but a catch all phrase for a situation and symptoms that have a wide variety of causes, all different and individual rather than a single cause that all PD patients have in common. I can see symptoms dramatically differ within a 24 hour period, simply a result of changing other unrelated meds I am taking for pain and/or sleep, which I am working to eliminate completely.
Why don’t the manufacturers (looks like Bausch) of the drug RB190 want to back a trial…?
If it's been around since the '70s, it's long since off-patent.
The Q&A demonstrated how near we are to a cure. Answer: NOT EVEN CLOSE!
Amazing conversation, thanks both, I'll be back to listen to the second half 👍
Hippocrates already stated that diseases begin in the intestine. The basis of treatment begins with modular the intestinal microbiota, decreasing its permeability and cutting out inflammatory foods. The purpose of this is to prevent Alpha Syneclein from traveling up the vagus nerve and feeding the deposits of this substance in the brain. Despite not being able to avoid a total blockade, It is achieved through reducing substances such as antioxidant vitamins and some amino acids such as N-Acetyl-cysteine, N-Acetyl-Carnitine, Coenzyme Q10, among others, including all B complex and omega 3 with three main objectives: Increase the level of Glutathione beyond PQQ to reduce this oxidative stress. at the brain level to reduce oxidation, substantially improve the production of ATP by mitochondria and produce from amino acids such as L-Tyrosine, a non-oxidized dopamine. And by associating Levedopa/Cardidopa as auxiliaries, there is a result shown very promising. The key substance in the whole process is NADH, as it is the best substance for mitochondrial activation, especially in the form of an implant, Vitamin B2 protects Glutathione from oxidation and is used in injectable form as it combines Glutathione itself which has a short life in the system. The treatment does not aim to reduce alpha Synuclein, since the glalia no longer suffer from the inflammation process. This is due to a healthy feedback that inhibits the presence of harmful substances such as excess glucose, oxidative stress and bad fats, among others. In this aim, we seek to treat the patient and not just the disease.
This is an opinion. My mother has PSP and I use this conduct tô help her. This disease is terrible.
Michel purchased TENS for my partner. He has not used it on his hands but I’ve used it on his back many times and he loves it. Last night I put it on my back as well and must say it’s very relaxing. I seem to notice that stress and overextending himself seems to aggravate his symptoms. So we’ll keep using the TENS and extend it to his hands…
Great. Please let me know how it goes!
@@nosilverbullet4pd998 Michel, my partner has been using TENS for about a month now. He uses it on his hands for 30 minutes in the morning and his back for 30 minutes in the morning and at night. We haven't noticed a difference in his symptoms but it certainly relaxes him. He really enjoys the quiet time that it allows. He is also on high dose B1 therapy and has been for about 8 months. We have noticed a difference in his handwriting, gait and arm swing. We do believe he's found his "sweet spot" and his dosage is going to remain the same. We went very slowly increasing the B1. Thank you for time and I'll keep watching you.
Here is a very informative interview with Prof. Glen Jeffrey that gives grest insight and helps connect the dots with the potential benefits of this approach with PD: ua-cam.com/video/yllNLJi1S0Q/v-deo.htmlsi=Ph5BUmZ6nInMTKly
This is exciting information!
My goodness, a doctor who advises taking a Calcium supplement? That's something expected from a third grader. Maybe she slept during nutrition class. Calcium supplements are an absolute no.
How do you explain all the healthy athletic people who get this disease.?
Probably a history of neck injury, concussion, whiplash etc. These injuries can crimp the jugular vein which drains the cerebrospinal fluid. A disruption can cause a detoxification impairment in the brain. This is probably what happened to Michael j fox and Muhammad Ali both of whom had head trauma earlier in life. Either that or EMF
Great interview! Mastery of both the content and its application.
Glad you enjoyed it!
The idea that an egg in the morning can ruin meds for the entire day is new to me. So far, the most conservative advice I've come across is to wait 2 hours after consuming protein before taking levodopa. (Of course, this timeframe would have to work with the individual's medication needs overall.)
Iwas told that diabetes was a part of Parkinson’s by a dr
Is anyone out there using Ambroxol as I am for their Parkinson’s and at a much lower dose than Clinical Trials
This was tip top - great speaker (thank you Dr. Ghandi) and fantastic presentation.
Thank U for the HOPE
It would have been helpful if the title for this video stated that Dr Jonathan Sackner-Bernstein has a hypothesis that Parkinson's Disease is caused by too much dopamine, not too little. I had to watch 20 minutes of this before finding that out. People these days don't have the time to watch an hour or an hour and a half of video to have scientific knowledge that can be summarized in nuggets that are 5 minutes long.
Interestingly, there is research that suggests that exposing the eyes to certain wavelengths of red light improves eyesight, allegedly by "charging" the mitochondria.
It's interesting that Professor Glen Jeffrey, also at UCL, is researching into the effects of red light on the eyes with Moorfields Eye Hospital . He also refers to using using photobiomidulation with good effect on children with mitochondrial disease - it's intriguing
not enough doctors believe in red light.
Very informative .! Thank you
Sonia Gandhi keep on searching. You are a great hope for us with PD.
Such an excellent presentation, clear and informative. I have the PINK1 mutation, so I found this particularly interesting.
You would think a ketogenic diet would have a positive effect on a number of levels from reducing insulin resistance in the brain to damping inflammation and boosting mitochondrial function
A surplus of free dopamine in the cytosol of dopaminergic neurons and a shortage of packed vesicular dopamine in these cells hints in my opinion at a failure in the dopamine packaging mechanism. In fact several studies have shown that a reduction in VMAT2 expression or function in Parkinson's disease leads to impaired dopamine packaging. Targeting this failure seems a better therapeutic strategy then reducing dopamine production. Any comments on this idea?
A beautifully clear presentation. So in addition to exercise it would be worth a shot at supplementing TUDCA (a supplement similar to UDCA which is about to enter P3) NR or GLP1 agonists to help our ailing mitochondria!
