In the reunion it became evident who was the problem. Mike, you need apologize to your bandmates.
Paul Reynolds quality guitar player
If they had a new lead singer, the band ?
🤗🤗🤗 THE MAGIC SOUND OF AFOS NEVER DIES 🤗🤗🤗
It was interesting seeing Kal Penn interview Lars Ulrich in the beginning.
💟 ( ( ( ON MY RADAR) ) ) 💟
No Mike, we didn’t come to see the hairdo, we came to see all four of you play fantastic music. It takes all four original members to make a flock of seagulls.
Paul is still the most adorable teenager
The bass player has such a jolly good personality.
Such a heartwarming story. I'm crying tears of joy for all of these guys.
Every band needs a Frank Maudsley.
Guys on a huge ego trip , easy big guy you weren’t that good
Figures... The Bassist has the least amount of issues.. that's why Bassist are the coolest.
Frank is loveable . Top geezer ! 💯🎸🎶❤️
These reunion shows just prove how easy it is to hold a grudge and be angry and unhappy and resentful... from a distance for decades. And how easy it is to wipe all of that away and forgive and forget... in an instant... when you get together with someone face to face. Think about how different all of their lives would have been had someone gotten them together in a room with some instruments a decade or two earlier.
man i'd pay a lot of cash to see the original line up
4 members, 3 countries, 2 continents, 1 great show!
It's too bad they filmed it with a potato camera.
Such happiness.... tears
A magnificent project and wow what a great sound... respect, the magic is still there
What a tight combo...in the pocket perfection!
The new version is better than the first
Sir Paul was the GOAT!! Brilliant Talented Musician / Guitarist.. His absence obviously noticeable in the 1985 album
Daddy Chutney having fun. Yay ❤
This was absolutely fantastic 😊👍👍👍👍👍
"Wishing" is a synth classic
Reno's guitar created the AFOS sound. I Ran was one of the first videos on MTV and it was played continuously. The 1980's saw a proliferation of unique and innovative music. A beautiful time in history to be young. It will never be seen again. I'm glad I was there.
This band was a big part of my life growing up…will never forget..this band and the Cars got me into New Wave
29:20 sounds like a dono you used to hear on livestreams.
Paul Reynolds
This really is one of the greatest things!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm in tears when I saw them all 4 together again and my favorite tune from them played "Wishing"....how fitting for this incredible moment. I love this band so hugely talented 🤘💚
Great to see em back in style 82 seems like yesterday..😎
The band released A story of a young heart in 1984. Unfortunately the album sold poorly. No hit songs. The tour had low attendance. Not much radio play. After more shows had only several hundred show up, I believe Paul said F this and left. I don’t believe he was exhausted or mental breakdown.
Another fake ass scripted show by VH1. Then they went even worse.
Got to see those guys play the original 9:30 Club in DC and got to sing telecommunication on stage with them 🎤 💕
This is my go-to feel good video ❤
Glad you enjoy it
I've been reliving the 80s and stumbled across reunited. Man, I never realized how big Mike's head was. 😂
Not as big as his ego though 😉
Nobody cares about mock of seagulls!
Mike thinks he is it but he is absolutely NOTHING without the rest of the band!! Nobody cares about your hair mate.
i really got into AFOS back in '81 "TeleCommunications"hit in America...,.then in '82-IT HAPPENED!
When referring to huge egos, be very careful not to confuse the word ego, with pride. The two are very similar. So proud, you need it to be perfect. Egotistical...maybe? Just remember, whatever the traits of these 4 guys, they made that band phenomenal. In regards to paid extras at the gig. The only reason for that, would be crowd control. Your getting paid...so you will behave yourselves. That original band, would have no problems getting a crowd, if promoted effectively. Me, well l was married in 83' doing the mundane paying off a house type thing. By 87' had my first son. I will tell you this though, l had heard l ran and was mesmerised, by this masterpiece. It has stayed with me(originally a glam rock fan) for the rest of my life. The instrumental alone is amazing, then add to that, the brilliant and clever lyrics. The film clip. I love it all.🩷 I wish l had visited England ( l am Australian) so l could have seen them play live 🙂 Fly high Flock of Seagulls, Mick,Ali,Paul😎 and Frank. You earned the right, to be both proud and egotistical. l thank God, that you were here and l was here at the same time, to witness it ...thank you one and all.💞
Is it just me, or does anyone else hear John Lennon’s voice when Ali Score speaks? It’s remarkable how the Scouser accent never left either of those guys…
Awesome; I just love it! What a great accomplishment to bring them back together. Would have loved to have been at that show.
I want to hug them so much.❤
How I miss this show
Sadly, can never again happen....
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched this video back in 1982. I believe it was these guys were constantly on the television and my buddies house cause he played MTV 24 hours a day. What I like about it most is to watch the four of them get together and reconcile to heal old wounds and to get out and do what they do best which is play great music for their fans and in the process bless them to bring them closer together. I’d love to see these guys Open for today. Being 60 years of age a lot of the great acts that I grew up with are either older than dirt or they’re dying off the music today in my opinion is awful. It all sounds the same, but if you go out Let’s, for example, and see a Doobie Brothers concert right now they are touring in their 70s and they have Michael McDonald back with them and they have the all the original guys for the most part and the band sounds fantastic. I’ve heard them last year, I would love to see seagulls open up for an act like that because we all missed that. That’s why I watch this video. A lot of memories and a great story involved too.
Vh1 here, is almost seemingly on a...saintly mission!
The lead singer seems to think he's a cross between Lenno and Mcartney - The songs were catchy and bright but not profound - but he doesn't seem to realise that - nothing wrong with the band but they are not The Beatles - if he could just accept that he would have been a lot happier and easier to work with. The bassist aged very, very badly. The lead guitarist was really cool - not sure if he knows that.
