The Scouse accent is always near and dear to me. I was 15 when this song came out. Good on these guys to get together again.
38:17 looked like Reyno was having fun!
The absolute definition of 80s cool is Paul Renolyds in the "I Ran" video.
I have seen AFS probably 10 times in my lifetime, but that one time live with Paul Reynolds was magic, just like this video.
left the hair in the 80's
This is 80's nostagia on steroids ! Great music.
Brother had a Bar once. He hired then to play. Unfortunately, only 8 of us were there to watch them. They were fantastic. just like their albums. Mike seemed like he was pissed. I don't blame him. I'd watch them preform anytime.
I think I saw this for the first time when I was at university, back in 2009. As a teenager with a guitar, getting into 80s alternative stuff that no one else my age cared about, Reyno was such an inspiration. He could play, but he reigned it in because he always knew the right part for the song. When I got my first chorus and delay pedals, I learned "Space Age Love Song" - I wasn't quite good enough for "I Ran" yet - and loved playing that riff, listening as the bass and synth altered the feel as Paul just kept playing those three notes. He's magic, and they were never the same when he left.
I Ran I don’t think you could pick a better song to represent the 80’s sound. That song identifies that decade I think as much as any.Timeless and a classic.
Mrs Score looks very young to have boys that age!
Notice Mike didn't get up to greet the other guys and the greeting wasn't as warm. Might be Mike is just introverted. Surprisingly many lead singers are introverted.
Caught Frank brushing his teeth, lol. What a funny photo
Why-eye
'codnor'???
@@loki1066 yeah. They made the original Microns.
I was in high school when I saw these guys in Ann Arbor in October 1984. “Space Age Love Song” always has been my favorite. Great to hear it on this episode. Cool that Mum Score was featured here, too. Side note, first three tracks on “Story of a Young Heart” are really, really good, as well.
After 40+ years, they still have it
Killer band actually. They make some music that I really dig. What happened to their Scouser accents? lol!
Lead singer mikes ego broke the band imo Its a shame, imagine if they had gone on 10 more years
In the reunion it became evident who was the problem. Mike, you need apologize to your bandmates.
Paul Reynolds quality guitar player
If they had a new lead singer, the band ?
🤗🤗🤗 THE MAGIC SOUND OF AFOS NEVER DIES 🤗🤗🤗
It was interesting seeing Kal Penn interview Lars Ulrich in the beginning.
💟 ( ( ( ON MY RADAR) ) ) 💟
No Mike, we didn’t come to see the hairdo, we came to see all four of you play fantastic music. It takes all four original members to make a flock of seagulls.
Paul is still the most adorable teenager
The bass player has such a jolly good personality.
Such a heartwarming story. I'm crying tears of joy for all of these guys.
Every band needs a Frank Maudsley.
Guys on a huge ego trip , easy big guy you weren’t that good
Figures... The Bassist has the least amount of issues.. that's why Bassist are the coolest.
Frank is loveable . Top geezer ! 💯🎸🎶❤️
These reunion shows just prove how easy it is to hold a grudge and be angry and unhappy and resentful... from a distance for decades. And how easy it is to wipe all of that away and forgive and forget... in an instant... when you get together with someone face to face. Think about how different all of their lives would have been had someone gotten them together in a room with some instruments a decade or two earlier.
man i'd pay a lot of cash to see the original line up
4 members, 3 countries, 2 continents, 1 great show!
It's too bad they filmed it with a potato camera.
Such happiness.... tears
A magnificent project and wow what a great sound... respect, the magic is still there
What a tight combo...in the pocket perfection!
The new version is better than the first
Sir Paul was the GOAT!! Brilliant Talented Musician / Guitarist.. His absence obviously noticeable in the 1985 album
Daddy Chutney having fun. Yay ❤
This was absolutely fantastic 😊👍👍👍👍👍
"Wishing" is a synth classic
Reno's guitar created the AFOS sound. I Ran was one of the first videos on MTV and it was played continuously. The 1980's saw a proliferation of unique and innovative music. A beautiful time in history to be young. It will never be seen again. I'm glad I was there.
This band was a big part of my life growing up…will never forget..this band and the Cars got me into New Wave
29:20 sounds like a dono you used to hear on livestreams.
Paul Reynolds
This really is one of the greatest things!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm in tears when I saw them all 4 together again and my favorite tune from them played "Wishing"....how fitting for this incredible moment. I love this band so hugely talented 🤘💚
