Winter Hiatus - Booking the 2025 Camping Season
Переглядів 14921 день тому
A bit of a long winded ramble about how we had to end our camping season. Winter decided to arrive early and derail our plans for one last camping trip. I discuss keeping moisture down to protect the inside of your camper from mold and mildew, and our first successful booking for the 2025 season!
Winterizing the Plumbing on our Travel Trailer
Переглядів 1242 місяці тому
This is NOT an in-depth instructional video. I have other videos on the channel reviewing winterizing. With some very cold nights expected I figured I might as well winterize the plumbing. In this video I share my thoughts on some of the debates that often come up around winterizing campers, and give a high level refresher of the process.
Camping 2024
Переглядів 802 місяці тому
It's not about hitches, towing, black tanks, awnings, campfires etc... Camping and rving is about making precious memories with my family and taking time to enjoy what really matters in life. This year's montage of photos again demonstrates why I am a "campaholic", and gives a glimpse into why this is so special for our family. Canadian Thanksgiving Camping - Pinery Provincial Park
Переглядів 2272 місяці тому
We usually avoid camping on holiday weekends, but opted to try camping at Pinery for Thanksgiving (Canada). In recent years this weekend in October has become the last "hurrah" for many camping enthusiasts in Canada. This is likely our last trip for the 2024 season. This video is (as usual) just a series of random clips sharing some of the highlights from the trip.
Point Farms Provincial Park Camping - Final trip of Summer 2024
Переглядів 2244 місяці тому
We wrapped up the summer camping season at Point Farms provincial park. We had a small emergency with one of our kids which took a chunk out of the trip, but we managed to make up for it with some gorgeous weather and time at the beach/by the campfire.

Merry Christmas 🎄
@@Travisjeffreylee thank you!
Great information and video! Thanks for posting.
@@ggazzara1115 thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing the video.
My Dometic Fridge RM2453 freezer flap broke. I worked out that if I hadn't follow the instructions which told me to set the thermostat to "4", it would not have broken. This temperature setting "4" caused the hinges to freeze up and then when I opened the freezer flap it broke. I purchased a fridge thermometer and then found that when I set the thermostat to "4" (with the freezer door propped in to its approx position) the temperature in the fridge part showed way below freezing point. I then adjusted the thermostat to "2" (after a lot of experimenting) and the fridge temperature was at aound +4 degrees C, which is ideal. I will now install the new freezer flap (A$142) from Dometic, and it should be OK from now on. Dometic needs to change their instructions.
Thank you so much for making this video. I have two campers with this issue. I will try the fuses first and hope thats all l'll have to do with them but if it isn't can you tell me if it's the Cental Service in Emo or Saint Catherine's? Thank you...😊
@@Goldie-dw3pd I ended going to Century Service in St Thomas. It needs to be a shop that specializes in 12 volt wiring. So somewhere that installs lights, entertainment systems, stereos etc
When was this block last inhabited?
Did you rig that AC unit in there yourself or did the camper come with that?
@@mastersergeant8672 it came installed that way, although we've had a lot of issues with drainage. I have some other videos on my channel that talk about that. It works really well in terms of cooling the rig but keeping the condensation from dripping inside has been...problematic.
Good refresher.
Great tips!
Good photos, Great camping, Fantastic Family 🥰

I have 2006, 38.5 Fleetwood 5th wheel and live in SW Washington. All i have done is drain the heater tank, remove the under sink filter, open the fresh water tank valve and leave it open. I open the low water drain lines and leave the hot and cold faucets inside open. I have never blown any remaining water out or flushed with anti freeze and never had a problem. I think i will find videos on blowing air thru the system to be safe. Accessing my pump is not easy so pumping antifreeze thru the system is my last choice. We get a few days each winter below freezing but Ive never had a problem.
Lucky that you get mild winters! I've never blown air through but I've heard you have to be careful you don't put too much pressure through and damage some of the brittle plastic connections/joints.
I have the same water heater... my DSI Fault light is always on, but the water heater works fine. What do you think of that?
@@mastersergeant8672 sounds like there is either a short somewhere or the control board is definitely having an issue. If the heater works as expected you should be fine, but definitely keep an eye on the heater and maybe listen outside to hear it igniting and running properly to be sure.
My sis and i were on site 690 at The Pinery on Thanksgiving 2024. What site were you on?
Site 617 in Riverside 2.
Considering purchasing a 2017 camper with a wall mount AC, glad I found this video. I always had roof mounted AC's. If I do go look at it, I'll inspect it closely around the AC. Thanks!
Good luck with your camper search! Hope this helps!

Fantastic video!! We , for some reason, have never gotten a space "on the drivers side" but I think I'll start specifically looking for them
It does make it a bit easier, but if you take your time and GOAL then backing in on the passenger side is possible. Thanks for watching!

Time stamps are great, but the trolls don't care, THIS video is the response the trolls are satisfied with making you take time out if your day to address them.
Very true.... Probably shouldn't dignify their complaints with a response...
'Quick and easy is the way you bake a cake, clean a toilet bowl, or shop by mail. Quick and easy isn't the way we do things around here.' - Jack Palance
Exactly! Already had another troll this morning with the same " issue" with my content. Thanks for posting this, made my day!!
Well I have ADHD and I skip the first half but I wouldn't ever bother telling you that haha But also, don't let the trolls bother you! Even though I skip ahead I still like your stories. I just sometimes can't wait to hear the important info 😅
I appreciate your honesty. Hopefully my attempts to add chapters/timestamps helps you jump ahead to the parts you find most useful!
I needed this.... I asked the Creator for patience and I guess this video speaks to me. I have never watched you, I just saw the title. I do not watch tiktok but todays society has affected me and I have lost my patience somewhere round here. LOL Thanks Bud
Great videos. Always enjoy your content. Highly recommend getting a portable water jug (looks like a blue gas can) at Princess Auto to refill your tanks for longer stays at the park. I find if I keep on top of it and fill once in awhile when I’m bored we never run out. And the upper body workout from holding it while emptying into the trailer is unmatched lol. Wagon also helps to move back and forth between water tap and site.
We have one of those! Great suggestion! That was what we used for all our drinking water when we had our popup camper. Thanks for the comments/compliment!
I guess I'm lucky because I only get one guy who occasionally complains about the music but oh well keep making videos the way you want too
Thank you! My content isn't for everyone , but that's the beauty of UA-cam...lots to choose from!
I lived here for a year when I was 13-14. Heard it was rough but never had any issues personally. I used to go to the top floor and see the sight. In a sense it was beautiful
When referring to sides, it's better to referring them as passenger or driver sides. Because left or right is dependent on the direction the person is facing.
Headed there for the first time next week! Thanks for the video. I have heard the ticks are very bad at Pinery.
@@Camp_Tube you're welcome! The ticks can be bad, but mostly if you wander off the trails and start going through bushes etc. if you stick to the trails and your site you will be fine. Riverside is always the worst for ticks. Be especially careful if you bring a dog as they can get into bushes, plants etc and pick up a lot of ticks. We've been going for over a decade and never had a tick on us, but one year our dog got covered and ended up with Lyme disease
Wow I love this! Thank you so much
The reason why you have water leaking into the trailer is because ac fan blades hit the water in the pan and sling it onto the coil to help cool it if you build a tin box and seal it up only having the back side a open this would solve your issue
Turn left to go right
I don't own a RV or one anyone who does, but nice review! 👌
Thanks always nice to have someone who has the same problem. WE are on our 3rd control board. Also never replaces the sparker. so we ordered one. Full time RV life here For 8 years. Nice channel check out ours., @msfitzsadventures
Thanks, good advice. Curious about the type of tires on your camper ? I'm going to be towing a sled trailer this winter... ice or snow tires ?
@@VonSpud we only have all season tires and if we camp in Winter it's when there is very little snow (late Nov/early December). If you're going off road or using the camper in very snowy conditions I'd def recommend either winter RV tires or off-road RV tires rated for winter use. Stay safe!

@CanadianCampaholic LMAO! That probably helped your back 😅 GREAT video, by the way! I've sent that over to a few friends already. It definitely helped me! And I hope it helps them as well.
You're not an idiot. You got rid of $hitty CastleRock tires. You're the smartest man alive. Wish I had known they are absolute garbage.
TL;DR…but, I replaced my axle last week. Checked the hubs grease and added more via the EZLube. On jacks, wheels spun freely, no drag. Took it for a test run to cure the brakes. Drivers side really hot…250°-280°F! Disconnected the wiring to brakes and still ran hot about the same. So, it’s not the brakes, but something with the drum and/or bearings. Lippert has been awesome and is sending me new drum and bearings no charge via UPS overnight air so I’ll change out the drum, etc. before a long trip this weekend, Aug 18. Hope the next test run goes OK. I don’t know what to do if I get the same readings with my IR thermometer.
My late parents both grew up in Gosport - thank you (9 years on since you posted this video) but Dad was 10 in 1944 and recalled events leading up to the D Day landings - Gosport and Stokes Bay was crammed full of tanks lining the streets and Landing craft moored up along the beach at Stokes Bay. He recalled the generosity of the American GIs handing out sweets to the Children. There is a lot of history in what is a small town. Thank You and may those troops that never returned rest in peace
Good video, but you have front motor With toy hauler?
According to the manufacturer this product is not a sanitizer, does not kill bacteria!
Can you share the link where you found this information? I don't see this stated on their website or youtube video regarding this product. camcooutdoors.com/spring-fresh-1-gallon-e/ ua-cam.com/video/V_gpGJcKJ3w/v-deo.html
Thank you for this information, because I have been looking at different travel trailers and saw that some were coming with window units.
