Hi and God Morning. I use a Bow from P. Baron I only did buying this Bow because the Price I get it was 1560 Euro. The old Price was 2300 Euro. I can't say anything about the X5 because I'm a little crazy Beginner starting with expensive Cello. My Teacher is playing since 40 Jears and she testet my X5 and she says it is wonderfully. I had 3 Cellos she did testet one for 10000 Euro one for 9000 Euro and the X5 she stayed was the best. As a Beginner I could only listening to her Opinion. The X7 I want to buy has some better specifications. I give my X5 back and I will buy the X7 but then is finished my crazy Celloexperiment. I get a special darker old finished colour and the Specifications the X7 has. And my Dealer will do some other Specifications to make it very special. He showed the X7 to 3 Profi Cello Player. They said it is goo. But with some Updates it is better. So my Dealer maker some Specifications. He is a Profi since Years.

The problem with your "nicest sounding 3/4 cello" is that it is not a neutral cello. Good musicians seek for neutral tone so they can modulate it into anything they want. This cello is bright, narrow and ringing. Good luck if you want to play some sad or meditation music on that instrument. It is still usable for practicing or baroque music but I would put different strings, something like Obligatos if they are available in 3/4 size.

If I may give my two cents: Evah greens are brilliant and last a long time - Evah Gold are VERY brilliant at first but tend to lose sound as quick as 3 or 4 weeks, setting them back to the "green" sound. I personally would just stay on the green set and not keep spending money unnecessarily. I DO opt for and buy a single gold-wound Evah Gold string because it balances well with my other strings. But that seems to be all that the Pirazzi Gold have to offer.
