It's interesting to see how good Rubens Barrichelo was. If he had more self-love or an indomitable genius like Senna or Piquet, he could have been one of the best. Something difficult to measure is competitiveness, I mean, in the times of Senna, Prost, and Mansel there was a dispersion of champions diluting the points. Unfortunately, Schumacher didn't have much competition, it would be good to see him against Hamilton, for example. But life has not given us this privilege.

Senna fans will hate this as they base it all on faith and the myth. They talk a lot about Senna winning races on Lotus, but what about Prost fighting til the end and winning many races for Renault? They also overpass the fact that Prost beat Senna both years on McLaren (they stole him a tittle when he did more 11 points and the BEST SEASON in the history of F1).

It's simply INSANE how many more championships could have won had in late 90s and if he hadn't retired after 2006. Simply nobody else can come close to The Red Kaiser.. Same with Valentino Rossi.. If he had stayed with Repsol Honda, he would have won literally every championship till he decided to retire.

So sad to see a driver like Bottas in this list, thanks to Mercedes and their Love for Lewis :D

there is much more races per season these days and hamilton has almost always had the most dominant car we can see he isnt so great today when he goes to ferrari i expect him to emulate schumacher otherwise shumacher is the best still until max verstappen proves he is

I enjoyed seeing the chart evolve. It'd be great if you maybe normalised the season length and scaled points to the older season to the length they are now. With so many races now, I wondered how that skewed away from some of the historical drivers who had much less races a season, but would have still dominated if 5 or 10 more races were added. Thanks.

I think the points should also be scaled to an average season length. With seasons these days having twice as many races as in the early/earlier days, current drivers are bound to rack up more points before having to retire because of „old“ age.

his "graph" is useless. None of it accounts for the car and NOT the driver. I.E. Ferrari and Chumash, Mercedes and Lewis, Verstapen and Red Bull/Honda. When ya got the dominate car your going to scoop up the majority of the points! But it is an interesting exercise.

The system should ensure an equal number of races per year, meaning the same number of points per year for each season.

What a good exercise, and in the past there were fewer races, but I still think that it does give a true ranking in terms of fairer points.
