    What are you going to do with the neck? Will it stretch out a little with blocking?

    I have a small box (like a pencil box) that I keep all my ‘needed extras’ in. Measuring tape, stitch holders, cable needle, scissors, pen, pencil, stitch markers, more things (that I probably don’t really need). That way, when I move spaces, or pick up a different project I grab the box and all those extra things are right there.

    What did you do to get the turtle neck to look like that? I wanted to make but I HATE the way the neck looks for both options in the original. Yours looks wayyy better. Please and thank you.

      Honestly, here it just looks so well because it‘s pre-blocking. It is a bit of an annoying collar. But you could make the collar a few stitches tighter and then increase on the last round before you start the yoke to make it look a bit more snug ☺️

      It‘s only charted, not written out, but the setup rows are quite well explained, so I thought it was manageable ☺️

      Thank you! It‘s a yarn by a Danish shop called Tante Grøn, but they do ship internationally. The merino is Bøllefrø in color 19 and the mohair is Silkeblomst in color 4392. I didn‘t meet gauge exactly, though, and added a strand of Cashmere Dreams by Lang Yarns in color 9. But you could probably also use 2 strands of mohair or pick a thicker merino ☺️

    Great pattern round up! Note for the Soho Top , it's top down in the round, several times the yarn is broken, and its a little bit challenging for a beginner. I've made one and I'm walking a new knitting friend through one and she struggled to get through the top before joining in the round

      thank you, your comment made me smile 😊 I used the 8/4 Cotton from Sostrene Grene, which is a 100% cotton, non-mercerised and its meterage is 160m/50g. I‘m actually also not the fastest knitter. I could knit faster, but I rather take my time, enjoy the process and also make fewer mistakes 😄 same as you

    • @karencote6810
      @karencote6810 9 місяців тому

      @Crafty-Chiara Thank you. I've used cotton for other things and if you dry it, it shrinks. If you line dry it, it's stiff and stretches out of shape. Does this yarn hold up well for a top? I really want to make your summer top, but not sure if I need to make it bigger than my size to allow for shrinkage or smaller to line dry and stretch?

    I am in the USA and we have moth problems too. I use cedar chips (they sell little hearts and shapes of cedar wood) in my yarn containers and also plastic bins with lids and huge Ziploc bags. I have a fear of moths, after finding a couple in my yarn. I also know that lavender also keeps the moths away. They don't like the smell. I think it is a great Idea to keep the yarn label too. Especially, to see how to wash the garment you make from that yarn.

    • @Crafty-Chiara
      @Crafty-Chiara 9 місяців тому

      Oh noo you found some, too? Yeah I had everything in plastic ziploc bags until I got my yarn closet and now they‘re in there amongst many cedar wood balls and cubes and get sprayed with lavender scent twice a week. And I‘m glad you enjoyed my tips! 💕
