    This is the problem. The MPs and senators especially all those that worked from home never lost a pay cheque, never ventured too far or for too long into the real world are absolutely 100% out of touch. They listen to their paid media and believe everything they are told rather than looking into anything with a critical mind or actually doing research. Everything has essentially been debunked about the convoy… yet they still tow the line on every “new” narrative trying to make Canadians believe that they aren’t exactly like the media… bought and paid for by the Trudeau government.

He's out of touch with his constituents, his fellow Canadians and reality. This is why we need elected senate and term limits for all politicians on the public dime (used to be a dollar).

As a former liberal, I believe that I will never vote for liberals for as long as live! And I believe the actions of PM will make the liberals go down more in record lows.. media can lie for only a period of time.. with what excuse did the liberals invoke the emergency act when we had 0 deaths?🤦‍♂️ You guys just look less trustworthy day by day ! I suggest you as a former liberal, that I really liked some of the liberals , you will go down like NDP if you continue with these kinds of politics!! As indicated in my initial post, which you (antmagor) apparently missed, “I put weight on the testimonies of the Senators…”. As such, I listened to the speeches of the senators as they were presented during the Senate debate. I was particularly impressed by Senators Denise Batters, Pamela Wallin, Donald Plett, Michael Barrett, who had first hand observations of what was transpiring in Ottawa. In fact, these senators restored my faith in the Senate and the meaningful role it can play in the governance of Canada. In case you missed this as well: when it became apparent, through the senators’ speeches, that the Senate would likely vote against the motion regarding the Emergency Measures Act, Trudeau, stepped in to revoke it! Catch 22, eh?

    Others should think when taking sides against the people and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The executive power being exercised by the Prime Minister, whose person is not sacred, all his individual or collective agents are accountable and responsible to the people whatever authorization they have received. In addition Corporations/Banks/Financial institutions that support illegal restrictions to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms or Illegal activities against the people no matter what authorization you think you have? You could be prosecuted as an Oil Company Executive would be for ignoring Environmental Laws. Should you value your license to operate in Canada? There is a consequence for supporting Evil Rulers. There will be a reckoning.

    • @antmagor
      @antmagor 2 роки тому

      You say that, yet you didn’t cite the specific verse at the charter that the Prime Minister has allegedly violated. Just like the people over here in the states can’t put their finger on a single verse of the constitution where their rights have been allegedly violated. For instance when we were in lockdown everybody kept saying that the lockdowns were unconstitutional despite the fact that They were constitutional under article 1 section 8 of our constitution (In addition to the 10th amendment) and supported by a standing supreme court ruling (Compagnie Francaise de navigation a Vapeur Vs Louisiana state board of health). So unless you can put your finger on the very specific law that the government is breaking, then it sounds like you’re making it up. Also I remember similar action (Regarding lawlessness/terrorism) being taken by Stephen Harper When he passed C-51. I would like to know where the selective outrage from the conservative side of the spectrum Was back then. Isn’t it interesting how these so-called concerns only happen under left-wing governments but when a conservative government does it It’s a case of country first, The left is weak on crime, protect our cities protect our lands, full seep ahead.

    There's a reason your sub count is so low senator, and it's not your hair. I find it funny how with every other protest in Canada, what have they done? They have marched, blocking streets, they have set up camps, blocking roads and railway infrastructure, and they have been loud in having their voices heard, megaphones and speakers, and in some cases actually used violence to have their voices heard. Some examples of this are Eco activists for global warming, the women's March, the gay rights movement, and BLM. In every instance, there have been forms of disruption, annoyance, and blockades. What has the Canadian government done almost everytime. They either send someone to talk to them or went themselves. The freedom convoy got no such treatment and instead got smeared and slandered even though they set up stations to feed the homeless, they cleared snow off parliament and surrounding streets, and when police removed garbage cans off the streets they set up their own to prevent littering and garbage from accumulating. Sorry senator but you are far off base and you should resign.

  • @crevis12
    @crevis12 2 роки тому

    Mr.Deacon, you are off base here.. you failed to provide sufficient proof that RCMP, OPP and Ottawa police could not deal with these peaceful protestors without the need for the never before used Emergency Act! I suggest you consult with your peers Mr.Housekos, Mr.Dagenais and Mr.Plett all of which have a better understanding of Canadian History, the Canadian constitution and the role of the government.

    • @antmagor
      @antmagor 2 роки тому

      I think you’re way off base. Also with all due respect you guys were never this defensive of the occupy movement when police in both Canada and here in the states were cracking down hard on them. In fact your side of the aisle was moralizing what happened to them. I’m sorry but the double standard is not coming from people like this gentleman, it’s coming from people such as yourself. And if you want proof look at what happened to our capital here in the United States on January 6. The people in this so-called freedom convoy have likened themselves to the January 6 crowd. I’m sorry but your government’s response is warranted here.

    Anything that inhibits freedom of speech and expression is counterproductive to democracy, and our human rights, any infringement on our ability to communicate, converse, share ideas and innovations, our agreements, and arguments are archaic. Every individual has a right to express themselves freely openly and honestly as they see it, even if that risks offending someone. Imagine if governments, communities, businesses, friends, and families could not engage freely. It is completely unjust to suppress any speech for any reason Barr threats.

    I wanted to thanks Senators Deacon, Moncion and Wetston for organizing this important public dialogue. While governments globally have actively engaged their fintech lenders to help deliver loans to shuttered main-street merchants, our government has chosen to exclude this burgeoning sector. It seems counterintuitive to ignore companies that pre-COVID had been the lenders-of-record to this higher-risk sector. As Andrew, Som and Janet clearly articulated, fintech lenders have helped grow mom-and-pop enterprises for the past decade. We helped expand SMEs pre-COVID; and should play an essential role during the present crisis and in providing lending continuity through the recovery. The Canadian Government has responded by providing the sovereign backing to traditional financial institutions to enable them to effectively deliver the Canada Emergency Business Account (“CEBA”) initiative and Business Credit Availability Program (“BCAP”) co-lending program. While these programs are effectively provisioned to keep small businesses on life support, the key questions to consider are: How will borrowers be able to access capital as we drive toward economic recovery? What happens post-Covid as the sovereign safety net recedes and incumbent lenders are no longer a viable lending resource? COVID could and should have be an accelerator, blurring the lines between incumbent and fintech lenders. Unfortunately, the government has soft-pedal proposals from fintech lenders claiming operational and reputational risk. President of the Canadian Lenders Association www.canadianlenders.org
